Love it. The thing that always worries me about folks planning to get by on these super tight budgets is that there's no slack for the less common expenses. New phone, clothes, shoes, getting sick, breaking a leg, whatever it is. Every year you've got non daily stuff that can add up. No surprise for you, I'm sure, just mentioning it for anyone who does read the comments. Gotta have a cushion beyond your daily life budget.
I am British and married to a Malaysian Chinese. We own a condo in Malaysia which we bought in 2004. Now retired my budget for the day is only 10GBP (50 Malaysian Ringgit) for food and entertainment. I own a motorcycle so I use that for getting around. We shop at the local market for fruit, veg and fresh fish. The condo (apartment) is in a complex with 24 hr security, swimming pool, gym, badminton court, sauna and barbeque for outdoor cooking. There are condo's to rent here. 3 bed, 2 bath for just 1,200 ringgit per month (£240 GBP). Add £60 for internet, electric and water. You can live in Malaysia for $US800 per month quite comfortably as in our northern neighbour Thailand.
Great price . I live in Jomtien nice complex great location 7500. My budget is 600 US but I spend another 400 for fun. 1000 for a better life than I had in the US. I eat healthier than I ever did in the US no fast food in Jomtien.
Hello Rick Hilton. Would you mind if I ask you a few questions about your budget cost in Jomtien? Do you have a email I could send you the questions? Thanks...
Geoffrey!! Bro, you could use some interior upgrades! lol.. I could split the rent and take the spare bedroom for $250!! Haha.. Crazy how cheap it can be…
Great video…I’ve been watching dozens of similar videos this past week and haven’t heard a single thing about crime…Thoughts. Having lived in US and UK all my life, I know all too well the crime situation in these countries…what about Thailand? Thanks
Dude, love your videos, very entertaining and informative, and the pimp in p song was cool...until around the 10th time of hearing it.....keep the lyrics, do a refresh on the music.

One of the rules that I live by is the 500/baht a day rule. If you can live on that, you are good. I am doing well on 1400 usd/month. Currently living in a rice farm. Going to come to Chang mai in October for a family visit.
I wouldn't want all that room (!) - I'm ''old & frugal'' = less is more (!) to keep clean and pay to cool !!! Don't want all the steps either ? A comfortable efficient studio is ideal at a much lower cost !!! > THEN -- add maybe $600 left (?) after the rent ? ---- All this really adds up to basic survival - not really a cost of actual "living" as most would say ?
Man I don't care. The freedom of not having to worry about work and hustling just to pay it all to rent is good enough. Rent in the US is out of hand. Almost $2000/month for a little 1 bedroom apartment.
When finding a girl for a date, can you search for a woman that speaks English? Very nice pad! Can you imagine the cost of that in any major city in the United States?
You have to be honest 800 USD your broke....How about you get sick or a accident ? If your retirement age your health insurance will be 350- 700 per month.
Are you really a PIMP in Paradise? Is that the image you want to express to the expatriate community. You do seem to be a 550 baht a day con man. Very low end,

Likewise for Vietnam
Why would anyone want a 3 level apartment for $400 if u can have a studio in California for only $3000

Thanks for the video, is Bangkok the same? And why don’t you live in Bangkok isn’t there more to do in the city?
Great video, though I do have two questions: how much was your scooter, and how much do you spend on gas?
Cool, because since I'm not motorbiking & don't drink, my monthly budget will be $900. Jomtien most likely. Hua Hin 2nd choice. Thx G
