    Hi Paul, I have applied and received my DTV visa through the London Thai Embassy. I called them to check. On your first visit u must leave before 180 days. She said better to fly out than to do a visa run. After you leave and then return to Thailand, you get a further 180 day stamp but this is FREE. As long as you keep leaving before the 180 day expires you can return repeatedly until the 5 years is over. The London embassy charged me £300 for the visa which equates to 14000 baht, they obviously take a share. But you don't need to pay 10000 baht except to get the visa, not on each return into the Kingdom. Hope this clarifies things

      So can you rent a condo for a yearly lease and leave to say Vietnam for a weeks vacation and come back to the condo?

    • @M7OLY
      @M7OLY 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

      @michaelhartman757 if u take a 12 month lease u still have to leave the country before 180 days pass. If u leave just one day, you will get a new 180 day stamp on your return.

      Hey mate, I also applied to the London Thai Embassy (online) on the 21st of this month. How long did it take you to recieve yours? Because I have my flight booked on August 30th and I am afraid it might be cutting it close. So far they requested extra documents which I submitted and are verifying them.

    • @M7OLY

    It’s a 5year visa. You can extend for another 180 days per time for $1900B at Thailand Immigration, not $10,000B. You can extend as often as you want during the 5years with the required documents. Alternatively, fly out before the 180 days is due and come back with a new 180 days stamp ( Gets reset).

      from what I understand, 180 days restart everytime you enter Thailand. You can keep doing it repeatedly for up to 5 years. Just make sure you leave every 180 days. So, hypothetically you can do 180 days, leave 1 day, come back, get another 180 days, all within the same year, yes. This is not the best Thai visa I mean honestly everyone only pay attention to the highlights and not the fine print. I literally read everything about the destination Thai visa that's the real name of it. It's not called digital o mad visa it is called Destination Thai visa. And yes, it is for people to work remotely online but you have to already be working remotely for a company not coming to Thailand looking for remote work. The other thing all of you need to know is you have to provide proof of financial means to show you are able to take care of yourself in Thailand for 6 months. The financial requirement is $13,000 usd. So with this visa you are allowed to stay up 180 days a year for a period of 5 years and guess what that means, it means with the Destination Thai visa you will automatically be paying taxes to the Thai government. There not slick enough because I see this coming 100 miles away. I mean honestly, it's best to just stay in Thailand on a tourist visa for 60 days and then leave for 59 days and come back and stay for another 90 days. The other problem that I have is most of these youtubers and influencers I already know they are all overstaying on their visas and when the Thai government finally do a crack don o that it is going to be hell. That's the reason why Thailand has over tourism because all the foreigners in Phuket, Bangkok, Pattaya, Koh Samui, Koh Krabi, Koh Phi Phi is because all of these foreigners are overstaying on their visas that is why. IM glad I picked an area in Thailand that has no influencers, no youtubers and hardly any foreigners the area I will be in Thailand is far from off of everyone radar.

If we met over a beer and you never knew I made content, you’d probably have a different opinion on me or about content creators. And this visa is generally one of the best ones, for those who have $14k usd in bank, and don’t want to deal with border runs and intimidating immigration officers
