    Thank you for all the information on the DTV. It is refreshing to have someone give their experience on getting the visa and then saying that certain items they don't know. Other youtubers will give info they have no idea about just to get views. You are a breath of fresh air. I will be subscribing today. Best of luck with your channel and enjoy your travels.

      The purpose of these videos is not knowing if someone is honest enough saying I don't know or throwing info randomly pretending to know it all. The purpose should be having thorough actual knowledge of the subject and once ready to deliver it you come out with a video explaining all the aspects and options from A to Z. Sorry, I don't want to embarrass anyone here but understand there are tons of people talking about the same thing and it gets ever more confusing by insufficient or distorted knowledge making it absolutely worthless to watch.

    Just to add something, to make it more clear (What you said was not wrong, it just could be misunderstood), is you can extend past 180 days, once per entry. So you could enter, extend to 360 days, leave and come back, and then extend the second stay for 360 as well. There is no limit to the number of times you can extend, but you can only do it once per entry.

    Just wanted to thank you for making this video. I tried joinng the Facebook group and pending approval. I'm living in Thailand now and will apply as a freelancer. My goal is to fly to Cambodia with the hopes that the process will take no more than 5 business days. Your video helped me set expectation that it's possible Cambodia will ask for up to 6 months bank statements, and it's best to apply in person. Also, I tried to confirm the specifics on the website for Cambodia the actual link on their site for DTV redirects to the the wrong VISA type so it's currently not possible to confirm anything on their site. Wish me luck, lol! Thanks again for taking the time to share!

    Thank you for sharing your experience! Ive been in Thailand on the DTV for less than a month. I wpuld very much like to get a thai bank account so I can use their QR code to Pay system. It seems so efficient and easy. Is there a way or is it only for the retirement visas? 2nd question, when I decide to go home after 180 days for vacation, do I need to get a re-entry visa? Or does my DTV stamp is good enough? Thanks!

    • @aniquefleur

      Hi, thanks so much for watching-you’re welcome here! 😊
      In my latest video, I share some tips on finances that might be helpful: th-cam.com/video/6rGNJgyhvNk/w-d-xo.html
      Regarding the DTV: It’s a 5-year visa with a 180-day stamp each time you enter, with the option to extend for another 180 days while in the country. I haven’t personally gone through a re-entry or extension yet, but based on the standard rules, I’m not sure I fully understand your question about a re-entry visa. Could you clarify a bit?
      Let me know how it goes for you-I’d love to hear about your experience! 💬

    • @ArcherNX1701
      @ArcherNX1701 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @aniquefleur my understanding with other multi-entry visas, when you leave thailand you need an exit stamp and pay for a reentry visa. Am I incorrect?

    • @aniquefleur
      @aniquefleur  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      He, I dont know about other multi-entry visas, as I haven’t received one myself.
      To my knowledge, the DTV is a 5-year visa, with a 180-day stamp each time you enter, and the option to extend for another 180 days while in Thailand. You’ll typically receive an exit stamp upon departure if you leave the country. Is there a reason to worry that this information is not correct?
      I hope this helps! Let me know how it goes or if you learn anything new-I’d love to hear about your experience. 💬

    Hello. Thanks again for the info. Here is my situation, and concern. I have been living in Thailand for 4 years now, as I am married to a Thai woman, and am on a partner visa. I work out of New Zealand and have had the same full-time job from there for the last 8 years, and financially am not concerned. However, I would like to migrate to this VISA, as it's more convenient to have. In November, my visa will expire if I don't renew it, so the plan was to take a trip to New Zealand in November and apply for this visa while I am there. The only issue is I don't actually live in NZ, so I will have no proof of residency. Did you have to show an electric bill, rental agreement, or anything that proves you are living in the country you were applying from? Cheers.

    • @aniquefleur
      @aniquefleur  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hi there, officially you apply in the country where you currently at. I could show a tourist visa stamp of Vietnam and a proof of accommodation where I was staying at that moment. this was an Airbnb in my case. From third party stories, I heard that in some countries showing a local driving license is enough for proof of residence. Hope this helps.

      @aniquefleur  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hee, thanks for your reply. I´m wondering, where does this feeling of doubt come from? Personally, I have not seen your visa approval, so its a bit hard to help you with this. The date of the DTV should be on the visa, beginning date and end date with a 5 year time period in between. Entering Thailand in between this period makes you eligable for entry, make sure to share that you have this visa and that you would like to use it. Cheers Anique

    Hi Anique. After getting approved for the DTV Visa, what was the process for getting through the immigration check point a Thailand airport (for the first time with the DTV)? Was it a quick and easy process? Did they ask you a bunch of questions? Or did they simply stamp your passport in a few seconds? Thanks!

    • @aniquefleur
      @aniquefleur  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Ah yeah, good question. I think it was one of the first times that the immigration lady saw this visa as she contacted colleagues. I felt vulnerable of something going wrong because of this, but they asked standard questions like purpose of stay and how long I´m going to stay in Thailand. Although the last question seemed to be more out of curiosity.
      After, they stamped me 180 days.
      Recently, I received the information on a 90 day report obligation in Thailand, where you´ll need to share your place of stay during report. Report is obligated when staying 90 days or more.
      Thanks and cheers

      They didnt officially said it was approved, but they checked everything before and asked for additional information before taking the payment. From all the offline visa applications I did with Thailand, it has been like this, also with tourist visa.
      Now they go to the online application, and I don´t know how that works with this as I assume you have to pay during application, so it might be different. I did hear they ask for additional information when needed during the process, but I don´t know what happens if you are not able to comply when the visa fees are paid. I recommend to check this specifically.

  • @JamesFarley99
    @JamesFarley99 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Do you have to pay the $340 before they approve you?… meaning, it is possible you might pay $340 and then be denied the visa? 😮

    • @aniquefleur
      @aniquefleur  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      He thats a valid concern. Offline, I noticed that they check all your documents beforehand and if they want more documents they request for it. Officially, it is on the papers that they can, but actually I have not heard or experienced a situation so far where they denied visa after taking into the fees. Meaning, once they collected the 340 dollar, it is very likely you will receive your visa.
      This might be different with online application though, as I understand that you have to pay the fees before document check. I don´t have experience with this, so I don´t know.

      He yes, congratulations! Thanks for sharing. I did my application offline and not online. So I have not been in a similar situation like that. Nevertheless, when applying for another country online, for example Vietnam, I printed my visa and showed it at immigration and i received the stamp related to that visa. I assume it is the same with this visa in Thailand.
      When I arrived they asked me the purpose and length of stay and after answering they gave me the 180 days stamp. I was very excited to receive so much on this stamp. I heard that you have to do 90 days report when staying longer term. Will be new for me to, but something for you to take into account as well.

      Hello, thank you for your question. If you would like to apply for this visa as a Remote worker, they might ask for a portfolio and an official business registration. Think about client referrels or contracts, and the work you are performing.
      If the things you are mentioning are sufficient or not, that is difficult for me to determine. Sorry, that I can not give you the answer that you are hoping for. I can only share the information that I have and the experience I heard from fellow nomads.
      Also, please consider the other requirements as mentioned in the video.
      Thank you.

    And you're a lawyer You think of it regular layperson is going to be able to figure out how to file all that crap without 14 trips to the embassy I don't think so well they're letting people in for 90 days with no vetting whatsoever doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

      Hi, Thank you for your feedback! I’d love to hear more about your thoughts-it could be helpful for future videos. While I’m not a practicing lawyer, I do have a background in International Tax Law, which helps me navigate processes like these. Consulting a professional is a good idea if you’re looking for official personalized advice or legal guidance.
      I aim to share my experience as a regular person staying long-term in Thailand, making the process easier and understandable for others in similar situations. I also create content for people curious about this lifestyle-whether it might be something for them or just to learn more. I’m working on free resources about Remote Living, Wellbeing, and Online Creative Entrepreneurship, so stay tuned if you’re interested! 🙏

    What if I don’t have the equivalent amount in my bank account.. can a sponsorship letter alone suffice?

    • @aniquefleur
      @aniquefleur  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      He, thanks for asking. The general rule is that you need to have the equivalent amount on your bank account during the moment of application. I´m sorry to tell you that I have not seen or heard any exception on this rule so far.

      Hé thank you for replying. Yeah I also feel a lot of fear around the DTV topic and heard a lot of negative stories before applying as well. Actually, my application went smoothly.
      Curious, where did you get the information? As far as I am aware the DTV has been released less than 6 months ago, so curious how there can already be information about that out there?

    After getting a DTV visa, how does a spouse travel with the DTV holder?

    • @aniquefleur
      @aniquefleur  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      He, I don´t know. I havent checked this one. I assume the spouse needs her own DTV visa, but I advice to double check that.

    Hi, does the visa start when you arrive in Thailand or when you receive it? Thanks

    • @aniquefleur
      @aniquefleur  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi, the 5-year period will start at the moment you receive the visa.
      When you arrive in Thailand, you´ll receive a 180 day stamp. Make sure to check the stamp duration when arrived.

      @@aniquefleur Easier with a 5 year visa than apply every year.

    • @aniquefleur
      @aniquefleur  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ah okej, I understand then. 🙏
      What might be relevant for you is that it is a 180 days stamp per entry which is extendable with another 180 days inside the country. After that you have to leave Thailand and come back.
      So far, the extension rules are unknown. Rumours are it might cost 1900 bath (like a normal extension) and that you might need to show proof of some documents again, fe the bank statements.
