    I have issue about the definition of molecule from many days...Molecule also can content of only one atom.. because atomic mass has another name molecular mass or molar mass or molecular weight ..so i can say sodium is a molecule from one atom and it has molcular weight equal 23..so molecule consist from one atom in case of metals and consist of two or more atoms like O2 or H2O or H2 or.......

    0:58 molecules example were quite opposite of the explanation right!?
    Methane (CH4) ❌
    Ozone (O3) ✅
    Water (H2O) ❌
    cuz those 2 are examples of compounds (which is made up of different elements)
    cuz MOLECULE are made up of similar elements

    • @jackwang9661
      @jackwang9661 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I also thought the same, because water is made of two different elements so it must be a compound.
      i dont think the water compound should be mentioned while discussing molecules as it might confuse some people.

    atoms cannot be the smallest unit of matter because protons have mass and volume, hence are matter, and do not account for the quantity of an atoms mass and volume. also electrons also calculate mass of an atom, just as the protons and neutrons, relatively small but present regardless

  • @whoahwtfhuh
    @whoahwtfhuh ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Correction.. A compound is more than 1 molecule together & etc,., same atoms all together would just be more of that element. What i wanna know though is how do molecules make a compound with other molecules by bonding without making a totality different molecule🤔

    Then H2O is a molecule or coumpund ?

    • @Hidden_always

      It would take many H20 molecules to form the compound (water)

    • @omarqasem747
      @omarqasem747 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      it's a compound and a molecule
      it's a compund bcz it's made from more than 1 type of elements - hydrogen and oxygen
      it's a molecule because it's 2 or atoms joined by covalent bond
      therefore u can say all compunds are molecules , but not all molecules are compounds

      Molecule is more than one of the same atom

    Hmmm… so an element is the same as a molecule and a molecule is combined aroma? And a compound is combined elements/compounds? That big confused me a bit as I feel like the words got interchangeable or one was not defined.

    • @mynameishuman4582
      @mynameishuman4582 12 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Atom = one unit of an element on the periodic table. (Example: one atom of oxygen)
      Molecule = more than one of the same element ( example: two or more oxygen atoms)
      Compound = when molecules of different elements get together (example: one oxygen atom with two hydrogen atoms)
      Another way to see it:
      Atom=one yellow Lego block
      Molecule=more than one yellow Lego block stuck together
      Compound=yellow and blue and/or other colors stuck together

    Alright so,
    atoms are the individual parts of the periodic table and can not be broken down (He, Ag, H)
    Molecule is a group of two or more atoms that form the smallest identifiable unit into which a pure substance can be divided and still retain the composition and chemical properties of that substance (O3 or H2O)
    Compound is a substance that results from a combination of two or more different chemical elements (sugar C12H24O11)

      An "element" is only one atom=one gold atom in this example. The molecular form of any element is just more atoms of gold stuck together.

      Molecule=more than one of the same element stuck together
