This legent of a man won't be forgotten where stories of old Dublin are concerned. He has to be included because of his ties to Dulblin and its history. What a story teller , adults and children alike loved his story telling . He knew all the people from every area he visited and especially the Dublin characters like bang bang skin the goat, assess jaw and swollow the pig I also knew some. I'm not sure if Thomas Mc is alive or dead now probably dead RIP pal one of a kind, another great Dublin Bard gone to meet his ancestors. Your clan awaits you, we will miss you. ✊☘️
Thank you for this. When I was a youth I watched avidly the Hands documentaries on the BBC and always loved Eamonn´s narration of the Dublin stories in that series. How wonderful now to find a documentary with the man himself in front of the camera!
It's in the blood, a yearning to go back to a magical history of legends and heroes. We have a talking story history that anchors the people to a ancient pre history steeped in symbolism lore and legend . Who wouldn't want to be part of that . Its open to all no matter who, where or what. You are a living being off this planet, that makes you Kin. ☘️✊
thanks so much for uploading these videos.. they are like historical documents its amazing to see Dublin back then.. the city seems so innocent and less crowded than it is now
I'm 🇮🇪 Dublin my mother was in a band called the birds and the bees Danny Fontana she was s backing singer and learned guitar from Kieron Foley but me and my mum moved to the uk😢😮
@@yonderorphan7499 by and large the problem is not with the foreigners it's the problem of so many of the people on welfare and drugs. Genuine people who need welfare that's not the problem the problem is the younger skangers and knackers who walk around with their hands down their pants and do their drug dealings without any problems. Welfare payment to any person should be withdrawn or reduced if they are involved in anti social behaviour.
I noticed there was a store called O'Hora's a couple minutes into the video. My name is Timothy O'Hora and I live in NY, America. Can you tell me anything about this store? I am curious to know if maybe I was related.

@Fook Yu What a strange comment. He did ask about his IRISH name didnt he?? Actually all of its citizens learn it in school but most never use it after which is why they lose it. The government has recently put in place measures to make it economically rewarding so wrong on all counts.
A past world of bell bottoms and Cortina mark ones. When five shillings would get you a new pair of duns. When you could look out across the ocean blue And picture a better life you hardly new

Dublin was so much better back then. At the time we did'nt realise it.
Eamonn, RIP, a legend
I visited Dublin two summers gone. I did NOT want to leave. I yearn to return. It pulls me, gentle but firm. I want to go back. And stay.

The only so called markets now apart from meath st are ones with your 10€ jar of honey and 5€ bread.
When was this filmed? Was it the mid 70s considering Eamon and others wearing the flares?
75-77 I'd say

What’s he on about? Pointing to places and calling them liberties. The liberties was called the liberties because of privileges that area had.
