- Today we talk about why the Daytona coupe is one of my favorite cars... already. Peter Brock and Caroll Shelby both had a hand at redesigning this modern version of their classic 1960s race car. This is 1 of 89 modern CSX Shelby Daytona Coupes built by Superformance, and 1 of +/- 230 Superformance Daytona Coupes ever built.

I'm not buying the argument that since it has a CSX number assigned by Shelby American that makes it "real". I personally have the MK3 roadster, and not once have I told anyone what a lot of people say: " It's a real one, it's just not from the 60s."
Hi Vinny, very nice Daytona… we did about 4 years to restore and make my Daytona lots better and real drivable ,testing on the road and on racetrack to make it a real driving machine😊. I m from germany and we are allowed to go full speed on the „Autobahn“😊Ron Weingart (R.I.P. 2021) and Peter Brock accompanied me and supported me with lots of great tips. 😊If you want the hole story and pics , tell me 😊
When I win the lottery, I have a dream version of that car which I would commission. I'm not giving away my custom ideas, but you convinced me to go with Superformance if I ever have the money.

Superformance makes some beautiful cars. I'm a fan of Factory Five racing kit cars. They are more affordable for the "regular" guy. Granted, you need to build the kit car...

Oh wow you’re coming down here to Florida, I live like an hour from the supeformance dealership. The weather is still warming up but it’s definitely a lot warmer than where you guys are at😂.
It was Dr. Kamm (Kamm tail) in Germany and the same theory was used on many cars designed by Ercole Spada (TZ-1/TZ2) which predated the cobra coupe. The original coupe had a suspension designed by Bob Negstad. The second generation coupe modified that suspension to get a more deep dish wheel underneath the car however this meant that the suspension does not have the travel of the original coupe to keep the wheel in optimum position whilst cornering as I understand it.
