Hell ya competition breeds competition, that Indian challenger "road glide knock off "sure came out and showed up. Pretty impressive considering its a first year bike with very limited parts support.

You guys should build another one of those factory custom performance baggers.
The Bronx would have been cool, but I was a little disappointed when it didn't look as bad ass as the Bareknuckle prototype. That was sick!

Full fledged, card carrying Indian fan-man here. Had to come troll all you Harley boys - Indian not only sprinted out in front, there was NO WAY any bike but another Challenger would have caught it, but when the leader ran off the track on turn two then came back to drag that Harley down and out maneuver it...are you kidding me!!! Only two Indians in the whole lot and they finished first and third. Hmmmm - sure is "quiet" here on this channel. ;0) The Harley teams, taking nothing away from them, brought their biggest and best - simply put, from the factory, the Challenger is a better engineered and purpose built bike from the frame to the components. Now we see that everything Harley could throw at it, from a 131 c.i. motor to machined custom parts can't compete. All that said, this is incredibly good for all bikers and all manufacturers because the next "king" will have to step up their game that much more. Harley enthusiasts should be cheering that Indian is back and better than Harleys - you're gonna get better bikes from The Motor Company....you're welcome. :0)

Dang even with decades of aftermarket support, bigger engines, some bikes with turbos, 1 HD didn’t even start the race, 3 DNF. One of the two Indians crashed the day before and the other went off the track during the race and Indian still came in 1st and 3rd. I hope this opens your eyes and you guys finally step your game up
A twist on "duel sport " for sure but these bikes are tough enough to race! I like it let's see more
What if after this series is over, Harley releases something like the “Street Glide 131C” (“C” standing for carbon) or like SG131c (for short) where it’s an identical bike used from this build but sold to the public? I think that would be neat! What wins on Sunday sells on Monday am I right? Haha! Love the series!

Power of propaganda
I'm a track guy. A good bike for Harley to build is something like a Forty Eight with fully adjustable inverted forks, adjustable rear shock and dual brakes up front. I wouldn't want to take a 550lb tank to the track with one front caliper. Raise it up a little, bring the pegs back and up for clearance so you're not scrapiong hard parts before your knee touches the ground. And keep it a decent price. That would get my interest. I sat on a Forty Eight and it was pretty cool, but there's no way I could ride that bike like I want.
If anything, Harley needs to bring their suspensions into the 20th century, like the Indian Challenger.

How do I find out where to obtain info on classes, rulebooks, and sanctioning bodys pertaining to any and all bagger road races, GP's, and drag races???
What a hoot! Fun to watch, but when they got to the track, it turns out that a 600 sport bike is faster... after they put probablyover 100 grand into the bikes. Racing stock baggers would be like watching paint dry.

Time you stuffed shirts at Harley marketing realized you just make bikes and merchandise...it is us..the Harley riding bikers that made the brand....you took our badass outlaw anti-social image and made it yours to help sell more bikes...even took our biker skulls into your branding. While that was smart marketing back then, tapping into your users core values, now you have lost the plot and are coming out against those very values, such as what you have done to #MillionDollarBogan who did more to show the strength of his Harley than anybody in your marketing team could.....Wake up or feel the continued push back

HD simply doesn't have a competitive product. I rode the Challenger back to back with the RG114 (Indian demo event) and it wasn't even close. The PP108 is at a whole another level.

@@Intheemorning I didn't know that was the consensus beforehand. Still speaks volumes on how well the Indians are performing. I favor the Harleys myself, however competition will only boost both companies. In the end the consumers win.
Doesn't help that 4 of the Harleys didn't even finish the race because of mechanical issues...that looks even worse.
@@mattshaggs2931 well for that matter the Indian that won was blowing smoke out of the exhaust for the last half of the race. I'd be interested to see that engine tear down. They all were running the engines on the edge. I was really impressed with the Trask bike. They were only running a 107 M8 with a turbo kit, and got 4th. I wonder what they could do with a turbo on the 131.
@@usmcvet0313 Right after he went off the track, yes...makes me wonder what that may have jarred loose. It was only pushing the smoke when leaning left....Almost make me wonder is it was actually the rear tire making contact with something. If not, smoke or not, it was still running better than the dead hogs on the track...hell, it was still running better than the 131 in perfect working order that was behind it.
Well, with a turbo on the 131, they just might keep up with that stage 1 108 Challenger that was up front...

Harley took advantage of its loyal base and sold high dollar bikes with outdated tech. Now the old guard is aging out and new riders care more about how the bike performs rides ect.
And harley find a itself suffering sales wise.

I see lots of gloating Indian comments, and I am trying not to be another, so here’s what I think, not that anyone cares;
1) Totally factory stock bags (NO MODS!) mounted at factor height.
2) Competition is good for all of us, so let ANY V Twin bagger compete, with limits on how many bikes are allowed from each manufacturer.
3) Although I am pleased the Indian won, there is no debating how awesome that Harley is!

I want to say I’ve loved all motorcycles since I wAs able to hold my first dye cast bike in my hand . The kids and young adults that love Harleys today are right into stunting ! I would never have believe that Harleys could take such a thrashing and keep on ripping ! You Harley bosses and decision makers need to embrace this culture now and welcome them with open arms ! Let’s see a Vanishing Ones Harley commercial or some BellBrawl and Harley collaborations !

Please sell a stripper road glide similar to the Electra glide standard just with 19 front 18 rear wheels. People will buy the crap out of it!!!!
Its a great bike to customize and is why they came out with it but I understand sales haven't been good at all. Not too many want to go all out customizing and going for the factory bikes that have the bells and whistles. It might change if the sport takes off and folks get into it.

The big bike is one thing.....but that large frontal area and the bags I just don't get
Just a different class like Indy, Formula 1, NASCAR coupes, NASCAR trucks, sprinters. There are a lot of folks who buy baggers and try to get the most speed out of them so they find it interesting. Guarantee what they see on the bikes racing will sell. That's the main reason behind it.
Sorry harley you can't beat the modern Indian bagger...
