  • When I saw reviews about these a few years back, they already have been tempting for me. I love earth colours and just had to try out this set. In the review I show you a test painting and swatches of the dispersion, lifting and erasing tests as well as the gorgeous granulation.
    All swatches have been added to the database: sunandcolors.com/
    All test sheets are adeed to the Ko-Fi gallery for a closer look: ko-fi.com/P5P1XU3O
    There you can also leave a small one time tip to support the database. Thank you!

      Thanks. :) It's ok to not be the first with all the supplies. We get ther on our own pace, I'm definitely not the first to all of them either. :D
      That set is definitely my favourite, I love the warm colors in it.

      Hi! They are wonderful and it turned out, that these are my favourite set by far. Have filled half a sketchbook using this set already because it has all the colours I need and because my hands instinctively grab them all the time. It's different from watercolour, but I really enjoy them.

      It sounds like advertising, but I just had fun using them :D

    thanks for the review! I have been watching reviews of these in a while, but only used the watersoluble graphite that comes in a tin. The granulation in these makes them very interesting indeed!

    • @LanaGoesArt
      @LanaGoesArt  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello! Thank you, I'm glad you found it helpful. How is the watersoluble graphite in the tin? I've had the graphite block in the monochromatic set and it was a bit weak for my taste. But these are beautiful - because of the granulation mainly.

    hi lana.. norakag here :-)) i loved watching you paint this ;-)) perfect way to work with this medium .. I have been using two of the blocks( sanguine , and sepia) , for a couple of years, to do value studies , of a scene, and sometimes of faces.. i love their texture so much , and enjoy their unusual characteristics very much ..
    i carry them in my supply bag for urban sketching , and find them just so easy to use , with a water brush ( i haven't used them dry ) 👍👍thanks for this review .. nora kag 😊

    • @LanaGoesArt
      @LanaGoesArt  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Nora, this sounds like a great way to use them indeed. Do you have a special way of transportation or just use the little pastic sleeves the singles come in? I was wondering how to make them more transportable.

    • @arcuda2001
      @arcuda2001 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@LanaGoesArt i just keep
      them in the little plastic sleeve .. i have a larger pouch ( like a makeup bag) that i keep the smaller things/ supplies in , so it's in there .. and i use water brushes a lot when sketching , so just one of the squares , water brush and some paper towel , and that's all you need :/)))

    • @LanaGoesArt
      @LanaGoesArt  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@arcuda2001 That is indeed very limited, but so cool! I need to see some of those sketches - because I love your coffee paintings so much and the urban sketches too, the monochromatic ones have to be amazing!

    It comes so naturally as if the brush knows by itself how to paint, so relaxing to watch and so nice to get to know this medium through how you experienced it.

    • @LanaGoesArt
      @LanaGoesArt  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's wonderful to read how you see it. I sometimes wish the brushes knew what to do. But honestly, to have decent paints, brushes and paper helps a lot already. :)

    because of the mix of graphite and earth tone pigments i would think that they are high lightfast, the nearest i have got to using some thing like this are the derwent graphitone pencils, tfs

    • @LanaGoesArt
      @LanaGoesArt  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Ian, it turned out not all of them have graphite in them according to the company and I have the pigment info they gave me in the video and in the database. But yes, they're all rated 7-8 on the blue wool scale, some lower though because of other pigments added - not in this set though (it was the red or magenta I believe).
