Varbanov is one of the greatests of all time at the CnJ. But you have to admit, drug use was a lot heavier back then (especially under Abadzhiev) due to limited testing. I’m not saying athletes today are clean, but they’re most likely not blasting 900mg of dbol every week leading up to the competition. If they didn’t reorganize the weight categories to reset the WRs, some of them may never be broken.
Unfortunately Lu's career in professional weightlifting is over. First of all he got busted for using EPO (performance enhancing drug) and secondly Papa Lu is just too old for this shit anymore. :D

Some WR when for only 2kgs more competitive weight, Varbanov lifted 11.5kgs more in 1987 and you KNOW this. Lets see this current lifter do 216 at 73.
Varbanoc 75 kg category lifting 215,5 kg. If there's 73 category lifter doing 209 kg it's more impresive than 215,5 kg at 75 kg category.
