Here's the final few minutes of the absolutely incredible 89kg session from the European Championships 2024. We saw Marin Robu with a huge personal best, as well as an intense battle between the two category legends Karlos Nasar and Antonino Pizzolato.

I have my American Open Series competition in Columbus March 2nd, 102KG session. Only group C, but trying to get back to big lifts after breaking my scapula and ribs 2-7 top rear just left of my spine in Fall 2021.
      Wish me well!

Just a note, currently Karlos Nasar has put down a 370 entry for the World Cup this April (this is only his preliminary entry so it may change). This most likely means his coaches will probably want Karlos to go lighter and save up his energy for the Olympics.
Nino's clean looked pretty easy IMO, I hope he tries 222 at some point in the future. Nino has put a 390 total at the World Cup (again this is only his preliminary entry so it may change). If he could make a 170 snatch and finally jerk 222 at the World Cup he would have a 392 total. I really want to see Nino back in shape.

In the 90 Kg class at the world championships in 1987, Ivan Chakarov (BUL) and Anatoli Khraptay (URS) both STARTED the Clean & Jerk at 2.5 times bodyweight (225 Kg). Chakarov totaled 412.5 Kg (187.5 + 225) and Khrapaty totaled 417.5 Kg (185 + 232.5). So is this result really impressive 37 years later? Not so much.

Really strong last clean by Nino. Possibly tried to rush it as not pausing to breathe sometimes helps preserve tightness and send the jerk, but looks it was just too hard that day

Trashy crowd cheering for missed attempts from Nino, such poor sportsmanship. The BUL crowd needs to learn from the COL crowd and see how it's done
