Que vídeo legal! Faça um do Opala por favor.
Muito obrigada pelo seu comentário! E o vídeo do Opala vai sair em breve!
Nice video bro!
@@arthurpaladino17 Thank you very much! Really happy you enjoyed the video and look forward to seeing your comments in the upcoming video.
Lived for almost twenty six years in Brazil, from late seventies to early two thousands, and had never heard about the WMV 🤔 ...though I did get to know the Savanna. My favorite of those times is the Puma GTB S2.
The Puma GTB is truly a good design. I’ve lived here for almost 7 years and I truly love it. Thank you so much for your comment. I truly appreciate it and I hope to see you in the next video.
Parabéns pelo vídeo. É muito importante ter uma visão de quem está fora da realidade do Brasil. E uma visão de quem pesquisou a respeito. Saudações do Brasil 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
Muito amor ao Brasil! Muito obrigado pelo comentário. A cultura automotiva Brasileira é incrível.
Muito bom esse video, ganhou mais um inscrito e já estou acompanhando a série toda do Lost in. Cara, faça um vídeo do Opala!
Isso significa o mundo para nós! Muito obrigado! O vídeo do Opala está chegando em seguida.
70s were a fiberglass wonderland! Those were some beautiful designed cars. Great video!
@@tremendoussaturn3339 Better days have passed in car design, now everything is just a big echo blob. Thank you for your comment, stay tuned for the next video!
O mais icònico e bonito dos carros brasileiros dessa época é o Santa Matilde.Parabéns pelo vídeo!

Dude, go and check out the Miura, their models were considered the pinnacle of tech at those times of closed imports.
Great video btw!
@@Alexandre-hk4jq The beautiful wedge shape of the Miura is definitely on my list. Thank you so much for your suggestion and comment. Hope to see you here in the next video!

@ Dude, cool vehicle!
The thing with fiber is that it's fine if you build up to 100 cars a year, but more than that you need either stamped metal or injection molded plastic, as composite materials deposited on open molds are unsuitable for mass production.
This is such interesting advice by any chance you work in the industry? I really appreciate the information.
I dream of having a 6-cylinder Opala SS and a Puma GTB S2
I saw a puma GTB just last week. What a good taste in vehicles you have!
Saudacoes aqui do Brasil
Muito obrigado !
Legal!

You should check out the Santa Matilde model they say it's an amazing one from this niche.
Thank you for the info, I will definitely add this to the list. Can’t wait to see you in the next video.
Congratulations, your video is spectacular, very well done research and a very interesting subject, these Brazilian cars are really worthy of being studied in more depth. Congratulations on the theme and the innovation, a big hug.
Your words really touched my heart, thank you very much for your kindness. I hope to honor Brazil and the automotive culture here. See you in the next one!
Search about Brasinca Uirapuru the great car rare
I definitely like that one and will be adding it to the list. It reminds me of a James Bond/daddy car. Thank you so much. I’ll be looking that up.
first of all, fantastic video. it takes a lot of research effort because unfortunately this topic is not well documented even here in brazil. I didnt even know a single thing about the existence of those later models!
just some little picture corrections, at 1:55 thats an image of a miura sport, and at 5:10 an adamo gt, two also amazing "kit cars" from small companies.
@@CaptainFoxtrotBR Thank you so much for your comment and thank you for your correction, I deeply appreciate it, they were all starting to look similar LOL
We had to be very creative with what we had. And fiberglass was most companies' best friend when it comes to design and manufacturing.
I've seen some models that even I had never heard of, like the Centauro, based on the Ford Maverick, which was made here from 1973 until 1979. It was weird and quirky, but awesome.
Another one I highly recommend you to do a video about is the Hoffstetter. I saw one live last year, first time. It was crazy, gullwing doors and all.
Great video, got yourself another subscriber! Thank you. 👏🏻😁😎👍🏻
First off, I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your subscription that means the world to me. And I love the story behind the Hoffstetter. I will be doing a video of it in the near future. Look forward to hearing your thoughts in the next video.
Great taste in vehicles. I really like that one too. My favorite is the Bianco S. I have a dream to put a Ferrari motor in one someday.
Miura, Gurgel, Lobini, Troller... Brazilian brands cars, all of them disappeared (I think troller is the only active yet)
Nice video bro, subscribed!
Troller was bought by ford and it was discontinued
Isn't Lobini still around? I thought they were doing that project sport car.
Just like the disppeareance of AMC and DeLorean
All excellent vehicles. I wanna thank you from the bottom of my heart for your subscription. I truly appreciate you. Hope you enjoy the upcoming videos.

Cool vídeo man! I don't see many people enjoying our BR things
There are a lot of car snobs into bells and whistles. Brazil is true passion and I really appreciate that. Thank you so much for your comment and I’ll be seeing you in the next one. Have a good day.
One of my favorites Brazilian cars are the Santa Matilde.
An upped Opala
@@gabrielv.4358 even by American standards the Opala was a King 😂
Brazil made lots of innovative products related to the automotive sector. The problem was within the government support. At that time and nowadays, they still prefer to bring foreign companies and not invest in local opportunities. We lost a lot of great ideas.
@@gersonitovieira4678 That is such valuable insight of the Brazilian automotive world, I appreciate your comment so much, can’t wait to hear from you on the next one!
We had Gurgel, Puma, Miura, etc and etc. Sad they don't exist anymore
@andrepatacchini Gurgel was sabotaged by the ultraliberal government of that time, that gave tax exemptions to the big makers and refused to give Gurgel any incentive to get modernized and more competitive. Think about protectionism, but in reverse.
@@Armc31416 It’s such a heartbreak
@@andrepatacchini The Miura is my second favorite car of this era
Thanks Damen for this video, man, it was a trip down memory lane, I remember this car, it was a dream car when I was a kid, seriously, Brazilians are very creative.
I really love the creativity that Brazil has. Thank you so much for your comment and I look forward to your comments in the next video.
There were much others as Miura, Puma, Brasinca Uirapuru (Willy’s engine), Bianca, VW SP2…
Did you steal my list to Santa Claus kkkkkk hope you come back for the next video. Thank you so much for your comment.
@@LuDamen So sorry my friend! Santa Matilde was an interesting car, there where two versions 4 cylinders and 6 cylinders, the most rare was 4 cylinders. For future videos why don't you try to talk with owner of a Bianco with Audi v8 engine adapted? He talked with Mr. Bianco some years ago and he put his signature in this version. (there are legends and you can translate to English)

For me the best was the SP2. The Gorgeous Sportback design!
I love the SP2 so much such a cool car and a great story to its creation, the feud between Volkswagen and puma is legendary.😅
(0:30) Actually, it was from 1976 to 1990, for both new and used cars.
Duly noted thank you so much.
Make a video about chevy opala

Cool
@@jones7299 Thank You ❤️!!!
That looks gorgeous. Never seen it before! And I'm Brazilian
@@gabrielv.4358 I’m astonished by how many awesome and unique vehicles are here in Brazil. Thank you for your comment.
brazil had many good designers and engineers, but the government decided to protect the brazilian car market and the small niche manufacturers were sufocated by the big ones like volks and ford, in the 90s, fernando collor opened the importations, one brand asked the government for help to not bankrupt and the gov dennied, the brand was gurgel, the largest 100% brazilian car manufacturer, others companys closed to, like the military branch engesa, who made the EE-T1 osório main battle tank, considered one of the most modern at the time.
It was kind of the same story in North America however it was more frowned upon to own a kick car so the cool factor wasn’t there and then the government took steps to protect the big manufacture and past laws banning most small kit builds. Brazil was just more draconian in their laws, the creativity and passion that car enthusiast have has always been crushed by big government. Thank you so much for your insight and information. I truly appreciate it. Look forward to your comments in the next videos.
Nice video, nice channel
I cannot thank you enough for your compliments. You really touched my heart, thank you. I hope you enjoy the upcoming videos and I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on the next video.

0:38 you can import new cars to Brazil since 1990, the 30 years rule is for used cars

and about this WMV, not even in Brazil pepole know about this car, the most famous special production cars (in portuguese is "fora de série" but i couldn't find a good translation) is the Puma, Santa Matilde and the Miura, besides the infinite Meyers Manx reimaginations, like the cars made by Bugre
I wanna thank you so much for your information. I’ve had to deal a little bit with importation laws being an immigrant to Brazil and I appreciate Brazil so very much. There are so many interesting vehicles down here. It’s truly amazing. Once again, thank you so much for your comment. Hope to hear from you in the next video.

search up for the hofstetter
On it 👍🏻
The core fault of the disappeareance of the "coach builders" in Brazil was because 1st: it was too expensive, 2: The Govt. never incentivized the local brands, 3rd: they couldn't compete with the "Big 4" Ford GM VW and FIAT, and 4th, they never had a real manufacturing plant to produce in large scale. Sadly Brazil never wanted to invest in local builders, like Gurgel, who created a fully Brazilian car brand. They were horrible vehicels. But with investiment, I could see it making great vehicles. And also Brazil has ridiculous laws that prohibit any car modification.
It’s truly unfortunate that Brazil had such strict laws and still to this day. Brazilians have such passion, but lack the infrastructure to see these dreams fully succeed. I love Brazil, but it hurts my heart to have such restrictions. Thank you so much for your insight. I truly appreciate it.
@@LuDamen It's a pleasure to share more of my knowledge, cheers!
