Here's the thing with me...I've seen the videos on all of those items over the years. I remember watching you sew that pot holder/balaclava. We have come a long way my freind. Its good to see you and thanks for sharing your knowledge.
I appreciate you answering that young man's tag. He is just starting and you were first on the list. Jon Robinet was on it too. I support new, young vloggers and the well establish like you.
I try my best to help out new and younger TH-camrs. I remember when I was a small starting out channel how all the big channels ignored me and never helped with the exception of three. Bushcraft Bartons, Sepp at Waldhandwerks and OregonMike. Those three were the only ones that talked to me and helped me back then.
My goodness, Dave...I'm amazed!!!! I bow down to you ,the undisputed Genius King of camping cookware. Thanks for sharing this golden collection. I've nothing more to say! Clark and Virginia .
Dave, I've learned so much about bushcraft, camping and gear thanks to you! Your vids are informative but light and so enjoyable to watch. Thanks..AGAIN buddy!
Holy crap Dave I thought you were going to pull a rabbit out of that weird pot holder hat thingy thing lol 59:27. Brother... you are too much my friend!
Hi my friend! Yesterday I was busy reorganizing my cooksets and stoves. Today what do I see? Your cooksets! Lol. I love that you have all different types of pots and ways of cooking. Seeing the different ways you use the things around you to make new sets always inspires me to try different things. I love the way you reuse and and give new purpose to things that others would throw away. Keep creating my friend. And keep all those pots and pans ... never know what new and exciting thing you will make with them. Loved this video Dave! Love all the videos from day one!
Hello Cheri! That is wild you was just going through your cook kits. My old mentors always told me when you're in thrift stores, flea markets or yard sales view nothing as junk. View it all as raw materials for future projects! Take care and thanks for watching
Dave.... God Bless you, Man!! I must have a dozen different cook sets and/or cooking pots and pans. I've accumulated these over the past 40 or 50 years, LOL. I thought I was the only one in North America that did that!! Now I know I'm not alone, LOL. Thanks for sharing another terrific video. Best wishes..... Ax
Thanks for the reply. I love going to the flea market and I have trouble passing up a garage sale, LOL You're channel and videos are a treasure. Thanks, my friend, for sharing. Best wishes.... Ax
Mr. Dave thanks for sharing. It would take an outdoors enthusiast many years to accumulate a collection such as yours. We call that items tried and trued here in West Virginia. Thanks for another great video sir.
David, you're sitting on a gold (or stainless steel) mine of items to sell your subscribers! You've invented more camp gear than most major camp companies, and they're quality items too! Amazing to watch the endless creativity coming from your reallybigmonkey(!) channel! Excellent video, as always!
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it all Douglas. Ah who knows, maybe one day I'll have a massive give away when I get sick of doing this stuff. LOL. Thanks for watching
The old Mirro pot with vented lid was actually a bun warmer. Mom would line with a heavy hand towel with part of towel to cover biscuits. Cover and keep in the oven til dinner is ready. Then it moves to the table and kept covered to keep buns warm. 1960's... Fun video!!!
Might even be older than that since I am 70 now and that was when I was still at home. Sad when stuff you grew up with are called antiques! Love your inventiveness, your straight foreword presentations, humor and passion for even the littlest of stainless steel pots!
Not sure whats worse. That you have mounds of all the cookware. Or that I've pretty much watched all your cooking videos on all this stuff and enjoyed them all. Lol. Thanks for all your videos. I always learn something new. I enjoy all the homemade gear. Thanks for posting!
I have a garage and a couple of closets full of stuff that when I need something, I don't have to buy it. I can modify something I already have. But I am astounded by all the camping stuff you have. Its absolutely fascinating! Thanks RBM1
Cook kits for every occasion. Even though it was long, I watched it all. Cool stuff and I remember the ones on video. Great job man. That was a lot of work. Thanks, I loved it.
Loved the "green brain" at 01:01:40. You are soooo much fun Dave. You have a good selection of whatever you would need to cook outdoors in whatever terrain. Thank you for my Friday night entertainment!
Really interesting video. This is what it's all about: creating, inventing, repurposing and reusing. And having fun doing it. Some day you should test the aluminium in that old Yugoslavian mess kit. Keep being one of a kind.
One of the things I enjoy about your videos is the diy stuff. You inspire me to build gear, and that’s fun. We build 200’ aluminum boats, so the scrap is endless. Built me a version of the hanging table from your tree grill. 2 piece that’s connected and doubles in size when opened. And it can be configured in different ways with holes that I drilled. Maybe one day I’ll get a video on the line. lol. Thanks for the inspiration D.
When I first saw the screen grab with you & all the pots on the table, my first thought was, is he really going to use TH-cam to address his hoarding issues! Then I saw where you went with your presentation. I am amazed with all your creative brilliance in mashing up some great solutions for taking mundane cookware & using it outside to smooth out the rough outdoors. The time flew by while watching & I just experienced an internet 1st with your grand finale - all I can say is your pot bag/balaclava/pillow gizmo just might also work as a pet Chinchilla sleeping bag & camp hammock nest thingy. Just sayin! Great video!
Thanks Chuck! I think several folks saw the thumbnail without watching the whole video and just shouted hoarder. More of a collection of creations and materials for future creations! Thanks for watching
That's... A LOT of stuff! 10:25 That little round grate you've got that's a steamer? That could do double duty as a pizza tray for making pizza over the fire... just food for thought... :) 39:30 The square skillet you've got there would be great for grilled cheese and french toast too! :) one at a time of course...
Oh it is a lot of stuff! I made that grate to use as a steamer but yes, it would make a fantastic pizza or baking sheet. Ive made a lot of egg n cheese sandwiches in that little square pan!
Honestly, if I know a bit in advance and it's during low season I would seriously consider flying out from Sweden. Man's got some seriously quality stuff!!
Took me a couple days to watch this, but I did get through it all... As usual, very logical and useful gear. I always pick up any stainless I see at the thrift stores, some of my best gear. I don't have as much as you, but it is nice to have an assortment of sizes and shapes for various applications. Thanks for putting this great infovid together! Take care...
Hey Dave, Thanks for the episode...Wow, where do I begin? (I'll bet you said the same thing preparing for this huh?)...Well, JEP'S Outdoor Adventures absolutely got everything that was asked for to be sure...It was cool seeing many kit pieces we've seen before shown again in all their splendor...you are a fabricator/inventor of the first caliber Mr. P.,...the passion, talent and knowledge you share with us come shining through in every video, and combined with your humor keep us coming back again and again.... Ok then brother, take care 'till next time, oh, and I liked that Miller-welder cap too, ha ha...ATB Dave...CHEERS !!
Thanks Brother Steve, I'm glad you liked it. LOL, man I warned Jep I had a lot of gear. I guess I showed him! This was a tough one to prepare for. One day when I have the energy Im going to do a video on all my grills/ovens/hanging cooksets! Take care and Thanks for watching
Mr Pearson! You are one of a kind! I have never seen anyone other than you you are not only to invent and make so many wonderful useable items! I love it! Keep up the great work!!don't let other discourage you! Some can be jealous of your wisdom and knowledge! And the way of understanding of how to make things how they work ! You are not only a man but a real man! That's a complement haven't met to many real men in my life! But you are a real gem!!!!!!,!!!!!!!!!!! Thank God for men like you!!!! You go man!!!!!!!!
When I saw the name of this tag I laughed and thought oh my Lord how long is this video gonna be! You did well to curate it down to what you did! I thought well if the zombies come Dave will be set for cooksets. But then I thought oh no, the zombies will get him whilst he's trying to choose which one to take with him! Awesome video Dave, I love your ingenuity.
Lol, a lot may not believe it but I did work hard to narrow this down to one hour! I bet them zombies would like some brain gumbo. Lol. Thanks for watching Annette!
What a fantastic video, I love going to garage sales and thrift stores with an open mind looking at stuff thinking what can I do with that, and getting it for 50 cents. and then modifying to your needs. I love things like old thermos bottles 18 Gage food grade the bigger the better cutting them open taking 3 sizes 1 l, 750 ml, 500 ml making 2 nesting pots and a cup and using a wide mouth Bass spreader to hang them over the fire. some times if your lucky they have their lids with them and you can take it apart separating it into 2 cups or 2 bowels you are only limited by your imagination.
While I did enjoy watching and hearing about much of the cookware, both old, new, and homemade...the belaclava I never saw coming. You are constantly full of surprises.
Awesome Stuff you have Dave, Thank you for sharing. So many great ideas you've had, so many cool gadgets you've made. Don't let them negative Nancy's get you down Dave. You are doing what you like, and most all of us love it. On a side note, I thought you made a video of you sewing that last item? Seems like I remember you sewing some tricky little beast, thought it was last Gem you shared. All the best MIC
Thanks MIC! I'm glad you liked it and all the other stuff I do. I've done a few sewing vids but none on that balaclava pot holder thingie. I may one day. Take care and thanks for watching
How many cook kits can a person have? I love this video.. Didn't think anyone could be a bigger packrat than me, but you did it. That Rival bake pot, mine actually came with a small grill like thing that you put in the bottom of a crock pot to set it off the bottom to bake bread etc. Thrift shops are the best shopping place to find treasure. Ya. Rob from Oregon
You are a creative genius Dave. Absolutely love the fact you make things to your needs. Inspirational mate! Just made my first coffee can cook kit with built in hobo stove and cup. Working my way through your back catalogue of videos.
LOL... You are a creative critter... That has become obvious over your many videos... Enjoyed the cook set video very much... Thanks for sharing ! And always fun to play around in the gear room !
Dave, an amazing video. That is a collection any museum would be proud of and you keep saying you got several more boxes!?! Well I believe you! LOL! I bet you got a lot of camping stoves too? ATB from Sweden.
I enjoy watching all the great cookware add ons and creativity you share with us, you give us tons of ideas and help us keep our eyes open if and when we come across different pots and pans to grab them. Big high five from Germany.
Your first home-made billy can handle design was ingenious, good work there Dave. Watched the whole video and I am sure I have seen at least 85% of your cook sets in previous videos but it just doesn't matter, I like watching your videos and look forward to the next one. Happy New Year and I wish you a great year in 2018, thanks for all you do to educate and entertain us.
Thanks! I'm glad you liked it all. Yep, most of this stuff was in previous videos. I have some cool stuff I didn't show because they will be in future videos. Take care and you have a Happy 2018 too!
WOW!! you have quite a collection there Dave, you must have been collecting for quite a while. I remember seeing alot of the kits you shown in previous vids, and I remember seeing the balaclava one before...very sly way of carrying a balaclava and using it for other things. Thanks for the videos, really enjoy them. Have a great day!
Oh yes, this is right at 30 years worth of gear. Im 50 now and started camping around 20. Amazing the memories this old gear brings back. I'm glad you like all the videos, Thanks for watching
Here's my thought process... Around 40:00 : Jesus, he has everything but the kitchen sink. 48:00 : I stand corrected, there it is. Awesome video Dave! Take care of yourself!
Lol, I did have a kitchen sink! Did you notice the two Orca multi cam water bottle carriers? A friend got them for me. :) Take care and thanks for watching Brother!
Nothing wrong with a healthy gear room. Got one myself. The fact that u don’t try to sell sponsors product is honorable , because you end up not giving an honest opinion any more. Keep being you that’s why people follow your channel.
Youre so right Nick, theres no way you will ever catch me bragging about a free product. The only gear I show is what Ive bought and love to use. Thanks for watching my friend.
Got yourself quite the collection, Davey; Don't ya just love them Thrift Stores ? Never know what just ripe fer the takin. Thanks for sharing Friend. Hay Nick ! ATB Ter God Bless
Oh yes a huge collection! I'm glad you liked it. Them thrift stores are like a gold mine. Nick says hello and may God bless you too. Thanks for watching Terry
Dave you inspired me to make my own stove! I took an empty steel gallon container, like the square kind paint thinner comes in, and cut it into a movable firebox and stove. There's a flap cut out of the back to bottom feed wood, and the handle is a hollow piece of steel tubing I can use to blow in the fire, with tent stakes bent as hooks. Then the hooks swing down and act as legs to stabilize it. Thank you for showing me that homemade camping supplies can be as good or better than what you can buy. It was a lot of fun to make and I can't wait to take it camping!
Its kinda funny...but i recognize many of these cook systems/pots/grills/mad scientist inventions of yours from watching your vids over the past umpteen years...well seven or eight years now...and yet i'm still freakin blown away!!!!...LOL Always a pleasure my friend!...woods
The really funny thing is I didn't show any of my hanging grills, ovens or general cooking set ups! Lots of those in old videos just like this cookware. Maybe I'll put them on video too. Thanks for watching Woods
Thank you for making me feel normal!! My stuff is all cast iron tho. My house runs down hill to the south for some reason. Thanks for the video Dave. You saved me from an evening of boredom. Keep the stuff. A guy can never have too much stuff!!
Always love to see a new video from you David!! I think a lot of us are dedicated 'collectors' of gear or would-be-gear.. I've brought home so many weird pieces of stuff from the kitchen section of the thrift shops 😜😜 it's ridiculous! I started bringing back sturdy loose pot lids to match with the stainless bowls I had kicking around.. lol .. my cook sets are a mix of store bought pieces and home-cobbled parts.. they all work well for what I'm trying to get done.. that's all that matters! I threatened to send you some of my extra weird bits before.. now I'm not too sure you'd have ROOM for them 😂😂 .. thanks for sharing everything with us, as always.. you're a fountain of information.. happy new year my friend 😊💕
Thanks Ruth and I'm glad you liked it. We think so much alike! Im always hitting the thrift stores and looking for parts n pieces. No telling what you can come up with. Amazing how that bin on the end at Goodwill always has cheap lids all mixed in. I have a box of them too! Thanks for watching and a Happy New year to you too Ruth!
A superb vid Dave. As you say, over the years you have gathered about you an innumerable amount of kit! Pots, pans ovens and cook kits of all descriptions. Many hours of TH-cam video is contained in them. It never ceases to amaze me when you come up with a grill or pot to use in situations that I can’t ever imagine. To say thank you for the hours of enjoyment you’ve given us all, hardly seems enough, but thank you anyway. Keep up the great work Dave, you’re a star!
Hi Dave, Enjoyed your presentation. I like junk! I have collected many items of intrinsic value that I consider to be raw material. I have used this material to fix, repair and build items around the home and property. The latest project was a machinery shed roof repair. I had collected barn beams that I saved from a friend that was about to use them as fire wood. I traded fire wood for them. They were stored in my 1850’s vintage barn for potential future use. Some folks might consider that I qualify as a “mild” hoarder, including my wife! Fact is that I have saved many dollars and helped many of my buddies by providing them with the junk they need to complete their projects with material that would have ended up in a landfill. I appreciate what you have done with your collection. Keep up the good work.
Hello John! I'm glad you liked the video. Man you and I and my Dad all think the same. Never throw anything away. Who knows when it can be used for something? Thanks for watching
You sir are a breathe of fresh air on TH-cam. Love your channel and the ingenuity that you use to make your items. Thanks for taking the time to make this video. On my way to TJ Max now to see what I can find. My wife is just rolling her eyes. :))) Take care, Al
I wish I were half as organised as you are with your outdoor gear! :) Love your videos, always something new and interesting! Always a little "comedy" as well. Thanks!
I have that Rival pot!! I took it camping in the fall and cooked in it, worked great!! I have one of those collapsible veggie steamers, have not tested it in camp cooking though. just started uploading my tag video
Love what you said at the end about learning from each other! I watch many different youtubers and I have "stolen" many an idea that has come in handy on my little camping excursions. :)
It would be interesting to see the projects you have conceptualized and not finished or even failed projects. Must be a few of them floating around. Super weird projects are fascinating and a very inciteful show of creativity.
I had a very weird kind of idea watching the video again. What if you could sculpt the faces of Flathead and Big Nose onto a pot? You could put them somewhere in your gear room watching what they helped create. After all they are speaking through you...
Before I watch I'm just going to say LOL, when I saw the tag topic I thought " Oh no, here we go ". You have designed SO MANY things over the years this vid is going to be epic. lol. Ok, here goes bro. :)
Dave I have to thank you. You are an amazing bush crafter. I have learned a lot from your videos ,and hope to be putting a lot of this to use this up coming summer. I am building a camping , survival ,and Bob bags ,and your insight has been a huge help. Thank you again.
"...But WAIT: THAT IS NOT ALL...this balaclava is a clothes bag, a pillow and..." I don't believe anyone else on TH-cam can touch your store bought, invented or just plain mashed-up cooking gear options. I challenge the guy who tagged you to watch this all the way through without his head spinning!
Reallybigmonkey1 Love all your videos. I’d love to see an instructional how to make one of your grills, for us welding novices. Those are nice, and handy.
OMG David!! Lol... You are amazing to me. You have showed me that you can take a piece of junk, which I love old junk & I have to much of it like you do, & create a usable piece of equipment. I yell at my husband when he takes a load of medal to the junk yard. Then down the road we need something from that junk he hauled off. I rub it in his face everytime Lol.. I try to get him to watch TH-cam videos & tell him all I have learned from it & he just don't get it that I'm trying to make his life easier for him. Example like rain barrel catchment for chicken water. One day he'll learn the hard way. I've seen your videos on those homemade bowl system & have enjoyed all the videos you've done. My welding is not good at all. I've caught things on fire before. I'm self taught to. But sometimes I've surprised myself also. It's like my whole life I've watched it done 10 thousand times & when I finally got to try it I mastered it the 1st time. It was cleaning a fish. I did 10 perfectly. I was 50 yrs old & my Dad or husband wouldn't let me try, bc they didn't want me to f it up. I showed them up. Proud moment I'd say as it patted my back. Lol... But my Dad never got to see it before he died. There's something we have in common David & that's we like little cute things. Lol... Everytime I see something little, like a medal box, I just have to buy it. I have so many little trinkets in the China hutch & my houses rooms it's getting out of hand.. hehehe... Oh well I guess there's other bad things people collect in the world. There's 1 thing I'm going to add to my cook kit & if I can find one like you have is that cool baking vessel at the end of your video. The one that looked like copper & the lid was hard to get on & locked in place & you said it was old. I would love to owe one of those for bread. But I do make a mean fry bread already. But I hate the grease. So if I'm at the thrift store & I see one I'm going to grab it & not let it out of my sight... lol... Well I'm going to quite but I could go on & on about this video. I've learned a lot of things from all of your videos & it's been a blast watching this one. You never let me down on any of your videos. You keep me entertained from start to finish. Keep up the great job, Chris
Chris we think so much a like its scary! Yes, most of this stuff is for modifying or butchering for future projects. You never know what you can make out of stuff. That Rival cake n bake pot you mentioned can be found on Ebay or on thrift stores. Use wood or plastic spatulas and that coating will last forever if you don't scratch it. How ever you ues it over a fire always make sure the bottom and sides never touch the flame. Stick it into another vessel or container and surround it by hot air, not flames. Take care, keep collecting and see ya in the next one Chris!
Thanks Jim, I'm glad you liked it. LOL, man that was horrible losing that camera! I haven't been back to the swamp to film since then. Thanks for watching

I totally understood this video. Of course I'm from central Alabama and just like you. :-)
dont we all have that David ... i also have a ton of cookware
You, young fella, are an absolute tonic to all those po-faced channels that sit on their false dignity, having already sold out commercially.
This vid is the adult version of a candy store to me...an Aladdin's cave!
You'd have to drag me out of there, I kid you not! Lol.
Thanks Billy! I plan on never selling out. I want to continue to do my own thing and not have to peddle gear for money. Thanks for watching!
Reallybigmonkey1
Trust me, it's my pleasure.
Billy I could not agree with you more..... best comment yet and very very true

I have fun watching his vids.

Thanks brother! I try my best to only show weird never before seen stuff when I can! Thanks for watching
Dave, when you finally have grandkids around they are gonna have a BLAST digging through all of Granddads stuff.
LOL, oh yes they will!

Watched you create all sorts of cooking kits over the years dave. Its a real pleasure.
Thanks Brett! To me, making the gear is half the fun!
You are the entertainer nobody wants to follow on stage. Who can top what you just did? Just like the four fire tag what could someone else do better?
Thank you so much my friend!
Loved the balaclava/pan cover/pillow idea.... beautiful :-)
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it!
Here's the thing with me...I've seen the videos on all of those items over the years. I remember watching you sew that pot holder/balaclava. We have come a long way my freind. Its good to see you and thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Amazing how the years, videos and memories can all come back in one video. Thanks for all the views my friend
Love watching and sharing your inventive videos with my Dad in Sweden.
Thanks, I'm glad you two like them. Thanks for watching

LOL! Ill do that in a future video. Thanks for watching Tom.
Wow, what a collection Dave, amazing mods and builds, thanks for sharing.
You saved the best for last, that balaclava was the cherry on top, lol.
I'm happy you liked it, thanks for watching Ross!
Thanks! Even I gotta say that thing is pretty cool.
Mr Saucepan what a great collection. Definitely a mix bag of choices, Love your homemade setups, Keep the videos coming Dave, PEACE :-)

Thanks for a word of encouragement, LOL. Nice to know there are a few of us around. Best wishes.... Ax :)
Thanks!
You're the best! For many reasons.. Just keep doing what your doing! I learn so much from you.
Thanks, I'm glad you like what all I do Chuck. Thanks for watching
Mr. Dave thanks for sharing. It would take an outdoors enthusiast many years to accumulate a collection such as yours. We call that items tried and trued here in West Virginia. Thanks for another great video sir.
I'm glad you liked it. Im 50 now so youre looking right at 30 years worth of gear! Thanks for watching
Hello from australia
Absolutely loving your channel
Loving the homemade inventions
Your helping my creative side to be put to my love of the outdoors
Hello from Georgia in the U.S.A! I'm glad you liked it. Thanks for watching
This guy could blow Canterbury OUT OF THE WATER if he really wanted to...
That's fantastic to know! I knew it was from the 60s but wasn't sure of its intended use.
Might even be older than that since I am 70 now and that was when I was still at home. Sad when stuff you grew up with are called antiques! Love your inventiveness, your straight foreword presentations, humor and passion for even the littlest of stainless steel pots!
Im only 50 and a lot my parents stuff is now antiques!
lol!
Dave you are the GURU man.........unbelievable
Thanks Fred!
Not sure whats worse. That you have mounds of all the cookware. Or that I've pretty much watched all your cooking videos on all this stuff and enjoyed them all. Lol. Thanks for all your videos. I always learn something new. I enjoy all the homemade gear. Thanks for posting!
LOL, Ah nothing wrong with watching all my videos. TV rots your brain. Thanks for all the views my friend!
I have a garage and a couple of closets full of stuff that when I need something, I don't have to buy it. I can modify something I already have. But I am astounded by all the camping stuff you have. Its absolutely fascinating! Thanks RBM1
We think alike! A lot of this stuff is for modifying or experimenting. Thanks for watching
Thanks Dave for all your vids . Greetings from Scotland.
I'm glad you like them. Thanks for watching and greeting back at ya from Georgia!
Cook kits for every occasion. Even though it was long, I watched it all. Cool stuff and I remember the ones on video. Great job man. That was a lot of work. Thanks, I loved it.
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it. Man some of this stuff brings back a lot of memories. Thanks for watching
Loved the "green brain" at 01:01:40. You are soooo much fun Dave. You have a good selection of whatever you would need to cook outdoors in whatever terrain. Thank you for my Friday night entertainment!
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it Kathy. Green brain? LOL, I like that! Thanks for watching
I can't wait for BIG MONKEY OUTFITTERS to open I will be the first there AWESOME stuff!!!!!!
LOL, Good name!
Oh man, I would buy SO MUCH STUFF 😂
Wow, never realized how much you had. Very good ideas especially the balaclava. Looking forward to the shelter. Take care, Dave.
Some say I have too much but, I didn't even show all of it! Thanks for watching
Brother you can never have too much!
Really interesting video. This is what it's all about: creating, inventing, repurposing and reusing. And having fun doing it. Some day you should test the aluminium in that old Yugoslavian mess kit. Keep being one of a kind.
Thanks! I love your comments and love your attitude. You totally understand me!
Brother that's great hearing about the gear you make! I would love to see some videos on your stuff. Thanks for watching Duane
Great presentation Dave!! My wife was amazed by your collection!!
Thanks Curtis! I'm glad y'all liked it
That's... A LOT of stuff!
10:25 That little round grate you've got that's a steamer? That could do double duty as a pizza tray for making pizza over the fire... just food for thought... :)
39:30 The square skillet you've got there would be great for grilled cheese and french toast too! :) one at a time of course...
Oh it is a lot of stuff! I made that grate to use as a steamer but yes, it would make a fantastic pizza or baking sheet. Ive made a lot of egg n cheese sandwiches in that little square pan!
After seeing so many of your vids I have conluded -as a fellow machinist- you are on my short list of post apocalypse allies lol!
LOL, man you know us machinists can make or create anything out of most any ole junk!
You have probably forgotten more about camping /bushcraft than most of us will ever learn. Awesome!
That is the single best compliment I've ever gotten! Thank you!
Whoa! That was a great video!
Lordy! You’ve got allot of cooking gear!!
A true Haberdashery!
Thanks again Dave!
Thanks Ross, I'm glad you liked it Brother. Thanks for watching
Dave, your wife is a very understanding lady indeed!
LOL, brother she thinks Im nuts just like my neighbors think!
Holy buckets dude ! You could supply a military platoon. Great video...👏
LOL, I might could! I'm glad you liked it. Thanks for watching Chris
If you ever have a yard sale, I'll drive to Georgia! Lol!
It would be a big one Bart!
I'm happy you made it through it! I love thrift stores. I feel like they are just buildings full of raw materials and future projects!
Hey Dave,
Thanks for the episode...Wow, where do I begin? (I'll bet you said the same thing preparing for this huh?)...Well, JEP'S Outdoor Adventures absolutely got everything that was asked for to be sure...It was cool seeing many kit pieces we've seen before shown again in all their splendor...you are a fabricator/inventor of the first caliber Mr. P.,...the passion, talent and knowledge you share with us come shining through in every video, and combined with your humor keep us coming back again and again....
Ok then brother, take care 'till next time, oh, and I liked that Miller-welder cap
too, ha ha...ATB Dave...CHEERS !!
Dave,
Great idea, we'll be waiting sir !!
Thank you so much Diana!
Nice collection Dave good looking kits. I like the idea of the milk jug cutting board.
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it all. You can also cut up a 2 liter bottle for a cutting board. Thanks for watching
I love your comment and love the way you think Greg!
While I did enjoy watching and hearing about much of the cookware, both old, new, and homemade...the belaclava I never saw coming. You are constantly full of surprises.
LOL, Brother Steve Im full o surprises!
holy crap dave . i knew you had alot of camping gear but holy man what a collection . wow .
LOL, its quite a bit brother!
LOL, never too many! Thrift stores to me are just warehouses full of raw materials for future projects. I'm glad you liked it. Thanks for watching
You are a creative genius Dave. Absolutely love the fact you make things to your needs. Inspirational mate! Just made my first coffee can cook kit with built in hobo stove and cup. Working my way through your back catalogue of videos.
Thanks Sel! To me making the gear is half the fun! Thanks for watching my friend
If shtf... Dave is having a sale lol
LOL
You're pot & pan poor Dave....LOL Love the videos...!!
LOL, Im happy you like em Todd!
LOL... You are a creative critter... That has become obvious over your many videos... Enjoyed the cook set video very much... Thanks for sharing ! And always fun to play around in the gear room !
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it brother. I guess Im just about as creative as it gets! Thanks for watching my friend!
Dave, an amazing video. That is a collection any museum would be proud of and you keep saying you got several more boxes!?! Well I believe you! LOL! I bet you got a lot of camping stoves too? ATB from Sweden.
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it. Yep, several more boxes but the other stuff is pretty beat up and old. Most of my stoves are homemade
MAN-OH-MAN !! You win,McGyver has got nothin' on you! You had me grinning throughout the video ,,,,,and I've got a toothache...lol
LOL! Well Im happy it made you feel better !
I enjoy watching all the great cookware add ons and creativity you share with us, you give us tons of ideas and help us keep our eyes open if and when we come across different pots and pans to grab them. Big high five from Germany.
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it. Always keep your eyes open for potential camp cookware. Greetings from Georgia!
Reallybigmonkey1 I'm sure I did but I'll go back and check. You have some good friends here!
I have met the best people EVER right here on TH-cam!
You definitely make some cool stuff! Thanks for sharing, as always I enjoyed watching your video, be safe and have fun!
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it all. Making the gear is half the fun to me! Thanks for watching
Make a part2, lets finish off those other two boxes. Thanks I enjoyed it!
LOL, Ah well the other boxes are a lot of repeat items or just plain junk. That one might be boring.
Great video dave thanks for sharing your cookset and idea's topman👍
Atb jam.👍
Thanks brother Jam! I'm glad you liked it
Man you are the king of cook kits!
LOL! Thanks brother Jim!
Now that sounds great! I always say, making the gear is half the fun! Thanks for watching
I need to show this video to my wife. Maybe she will stop telling me I have to much Camping Gear. Thanks Dave
LOL! Yeah, show here what too much gear really is. Im glad this will help ya man.
The hooked handles you made ares ideal for home use! You're quite organized. Thanks for sharing with us.
Thanks, I'm glad you liked em Lu-Lu. Thanks for watching
Its kinda funny...but i recognize many of these cook systems/pots/grills/mad scientist inventions of yours from watching your vids over the past umpteen years...well seven or eight years now...and yet i'm still freakin blown away!!!!...LOL
Always a pleasure my friend!...woods
The really funny thing is I didn't show any of my hanging grills, ovens or general cooking set ups! Lots of those in old videos just like this cookware. Maybe I'll put them on video too. Thanks for watching Woods
MTwoodsrunner Ditto!!
Thank you for making me feel normal!! My stuff is all cast iron tho. My house runs down hill to the south for some reason. Thanks for the video Dave. You saved me from an evening of boredom. Keep the stuff. A guy can never have too much stuff!!
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it and it made you feel normal Ralph. Never throw anything away! Thanks for watching
I might send you a dipper. They seem unfairly outnumbered
LOL, I don't have enough do I?
You're such a kid!, I sure hope you have as much fun making these videos as we do watching them!
LOL, Oh yes I love filming!
Holy crap Dave is all I can say, wowsers my friend,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Several people have said that Fred! LOL
19:00 I really love that one. Like a HUGE mug you place it on the spike pole and can turn it around the pole. That one is awesome!
Thanks! I love using it
Always love to see a new video from you David!! I threatened to send you some of my extra weird bits before.. now I'm not too sure you'd have ROOM for them 😂😂
.. thanks for sharing everything with us, as always.. you're a fountain of information.. happy new year my friend 😊💕
Thanks Jim! And yet this vid basically just showed the cookware. I never even showed the grill, ovens and hanging cook sets! Thanks for watching!
8:23 "This place is going to be a mess when I get done." because, you know it was so neat before he started...
LOL. I never said I wasn't a slob
AWESOME! Thank you very much, this must not have been very easy to make. Very good video my friend!
You are very welcome brother and I'm glad you liked it. I told you I had a lot of stuff! Thanks for the tag Jep
you're welcome, thank you!
Dave, do you own "Bushcraft 101" by Dave Canterbury? Thanks, Jep.
Nope, I never got around to buying a copy.
okay. Thank you!
You sir are a breathe of fresh air on TH-cam. Love your channel and the ingenuity that you use to make your items. Thanks for taking the time to make this video. On my way to TJ Max now to see what I can find. My wife is just rolling her eyes. :)))
Take care, Al
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it and how I do things! Half the fun is making the gear! Thanks for watching
Love your longer vids dave! Great job 👍
Thanks Jon!
you got it dave! anytime bud :)
I wish I were half as organised as you are with your outdoor gear! :) Love your videos, always something new and interesting! Always a little "comedy" as well. Thanks!
Brother you haven't seen the messy side behind that shelf. LOL. Thanks for watching Matthew!
I have that Rival pot!! I took it camping in the fall and cooked in it, worked great!! I have one of those collapsible veggie steamers, have not tested it in camp cooking though. just started uploading my tag video
I watched your video and added your channel to my description box. You have a fantastic kit! Very cool you have that Rival pot!
Love what you said at the end about learning from each other! I watch many different youtubers and I have "stolen" many an idea that has come in handy on my little camping excursions. :)
Oh absolutely man. The community online should all be about sharing ideas and fun!
We must somehow be related....Christ, I need to stay away from the thrift stores.
LOL! Brother Doug them thrift stores can keep a guy over equipped!
It would be interesting to see the projects you have conceptualized and not finished or even failed projects. Must be a few of them floating around. Super weird projects are fascinating and a very inciteful show of creativity.
Oh believe me, I have a pile of mangled and butchered stainless that's failed!
LOL, man I actually did curb it down to an hour!
Dave I have to thank you. You are an amazing bush crafter. I have learned a lot from your videos ,and hope to be putting a lot of this to use this up coming summer. I am building a camping , survival ,and Bob bags ,and your insight has been a huge help. Thank you again.
Great to hear that Lonnie! Thanks for watching my friend
LOL. Im guessing I have the unintended record for gear!
Could also be used for a live preserver - stuffed with the right material it could keep you head above water! Love your videos Dave!
Thank you so much for showing this! Not only is this filled with great ideas, but my wife can no longer complain about how much gear I have!
You are very welcome my friend. Lol, she can watch this video and thank you for showing restraint while gear collecting!
Reallybigmonkey1 Love all your videos. I’d love to see an instructional how to make one of your grills, for us welding novices. Those are nice, and handy.
I actually did make a video on that nine years ago, here's a link th-cam.com/video/eZDLafTacxM/w-d-xo.html
Reallybigmonkey1 Thank you!
Any time you want to be an Army cook, they'll accept you and bring along all your cooking kit items ...
LOL
Great video for a cook set fanatic. Love that stainless percolator. As always thanks for sharing it all.
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it all C.M. Thanks for watching
OMG David!!
Keep up the great job,
Chris
Chris we think so much a like its scary! Yes, most of this stuff is for modifying or butchering for future projects. You never know what you can make out of stuff. That Rival cake n bake pot you mentioned can be found on Ebay or on thrift stores. Use wood or plastic spatulas and that coating will last forever if you don't scratch it. How ever you ues it over a fire always make sure the bottom and sides never touch the flame. Stick it into another vessel or container and surround it by hot air, not flames. Take care, keep collecting and see ya in the next one Chris!
Great stuff.
I remember seeing most of your cook sets.
How about revisiting the swamp grill and swamp chair.
Don't Drop Your Camera!
Thanks Jim, I'm glad you liked it. LOL, man that was horrible losing that camera! I haven't been back to the swamp to film since then. Thanks for watching
