Enjoyed the video:) Was nice to have a proper tour and get all the answers most people skim over. Your setup is amazing and i can imagine it has added so much to you and your families lives . Only upgrade that would be good is a cooler or fridge in the cave for cold refreshments. Oh you could even have a small fridge/freezer combo and have some ice blocks in there, how amazing would that be on a hot day !
Thanks - Thats a great idea - a cooler would have worked but we couldn't get the electrical that close to the water (building codes) for a fridge or tv.
If you sourced the materials and did it all yourself, it would probably take you about 150k~ in materials, another 10-50k in equipment rental, and 6 months to a year if you are working solo.
@@SkimoStories We went with a 50 foot wide and 8 foot tall waterfall into a straight river with 3 points of uptake, we lucked up on a 17 ton backhoe for 3 weeks at no cost. Allowed us to also make a pond area as well, but we haven't decided on filtration yet. All our stone and hardfill was completely free, as were the pumps. It was an interesting project.
@@SkimoStories No, it took about a year, but other projects took precedent over the completion of the pond. Wife had to have a 18 by 20 addition with a 20 by 22 deck too, built onto the house for her 1,900 gallon fish tank and balcony to overlook everything.
Beautiful ultimate outdoor paradise at home. If I had a small yard on a golf course like this I wouldn't mind not having any grass area if I have this lay out. I'm lucky I gotta huge yard with woods about 600 yds away from my house soni had plenty of room to install a 1.6 mile lazy river professional built cause I am a residential contracto and we do pools and outdoor paradises and waterfalls bridges and grattos every day. Mine with 5 water falls two giant ones that you can go inside and it's like a huge cave with built in benches all around and ppl can't see in due to waterfall if you have company you can disappear in there and have a few minutes of alone time with my wife and kids for a few and my other cave has a hot tub spa with a full bar and stools and lights and had my artist wife do all the cave paintings like you would see in Egypt and Amazon river cave paintings it's so beautiful and the cielling she painted a copy of the sistein Chappell with a touch of originality. And the hot tube that is in it that cage has a very low separating wall so it can get to 110 degrees in winter for the hotub to be enjoyed all year round. Coolers for summer when it's 100 plus f out side and my full pool and lazy river stays at a nice 79 degrees which feels cold at first but when it's 100 plus out during day it's enjoyable I can heat it to 110 if wanted the whole pool but why in summer need the chiller lol now lazy river doesn't have chillers or heaters only heat it gets is from the how pool and hot tub water circulating and it gets warm to swim and float in 30 degree f winter days
@@MikeFarleyDesigns The Pool is great, but the other guy is correct, the noise from the numerous waterfalls is to loud, it's overwhelming. If you could tone down the volume of the waterfalls to reduce what almost sounds like whitenoise, that would make this way more pleasant.
Mike finally returned to the Colleyville Lazy River & here is a Fly By video of it for your enjoyment! Wow - look at how big the Banana trees & Palms are! Hope you enjoy! th-cam.com/video/ifIs-IgIuDQ/w-d-xo.html
Right a amusement park in the backyard. Electricity bill is probably outrageous!! Just to run this pool damn...then the up keep is probably double the amount of a normal family pool.
Small yards will magnify the sound so less is better from a sound aspect. A stair stepped fall makes a more pleasant sound than a straight drop. This project was about visual, over sound and for the photo shoot they were all on. They are on separate pumps so can break up into 4 individual systems with much less sound.
Unfortunately you are right! We returned 5 years later and have improved our photography! We still do it ourselves (my wife & I) but are getting better (hopefully). Here's the link to the newest video of this same project: th-cam.com/video/d-L87VtlnVA/w-d-xo.html. Hope you enjoy it!
He came in and made it amazing
At first, Idon't thought, why would you want a river! I see it now! Just to relax after work would be great! My vacation!
Very Cool Pool! I need my Vertigo medication after that tour though!
Lol
Who has a lazy river cave pool...this guy...awesome work.
Seeing it again! Just love it! Did a great job! Especially the bathroom.
I really like the video of the waterfall 👍👍👌👌🙌😎very COOL
Great job Mike and to Claffey and the rest of the crews!! You all always do such a wonderful job!! Sherrie from Dolphin WS
This is an amazing project
I am very, very envious! This is awesome…….
My wife is envious also!
Everything looks Amazing

Incredible work !

Great project Mike! You are a class act.
That's the best backyard ever. You should charge admission. I'd pay.
what is the total cost on running something like this?
how much did this project cost?
bro... 500k-1m for sure. Just a guess after seeing 30 seconds. Could be drastically more or less

@@TheOnlyHatchet101 You're a gem. Did that take all 8 years?

I wish I had that place
Beautiful water falls 👍👍👌👌🙌🙌😎
Incredible work .
Heres my video of the Lazy River Project that
HGTV just recently featured in Cool Pools. They
forgot to mention that Mike Farley designed it!
Nice pool congratulations thanks for the idea
Your welcome!
This is really nice! I would love to have this.

wow amazing home
its beautiful
Thank you.
How much does something like this cost versus doing it yourself? Love your work! Beautiful.
This yard was an EASY $150,000
EDIT: After some reasearch, I can safely say this yard is over $300,000
Arteolike The project in todays cost would be over $400,000 not including the gas tiki torches or the bathroom/sauna added in the garage.
Wow you are amazing.
beautiful. just an oasis.
How long did this take to build
Verey good Nice
Thanks!
How much space was in this average yard?
Approx 65' x 75'
me convierto en loco con ese ruido
Mucha agua cae
that's cool
I seen a backyard lazy river that looked like this & the guy owned a pool company & spent approximately 100k. I wonder how much this cost?
More
You should have done a voice over...but pool is great
We are learning - I hope our newer videos are better!
How big is the area of the pool? Looks like a huge yard
The main pool is approx 32' x 16' not including the river. The pool and river area is about 60' x 60'.

i'd like to see what it looks like now.
We'll be getting some new pictures this spring - It should look really cool with the landscaping - especially the banana trees!

When your backyard cost more than the house
Right a amusement park in the backyard. Electricity bill is probably outrageous!! Just to run this pool damn...then the up keep is probably double the amount of a normal family pool.
I'm pretty sure they use a pool service.
Must be nice to have lots of cash :o)
I think this would be a much better video if it wasn't so clear and still
i couldnt deal with the constant noise of waterfalls too damn loud.i want waterfalls but not the loudness of them

How much
It’s all salvaged wood from an old fisherman’s cabin from Nantucket.
the bar cave is pretty cheesy!! good idea, failed though
then we came in........again
Hey Mike,
What are the dimensions?
Approx 65' by 75'
The amount of times he said we came in🤦♂️
Ha-ha - Wow!
Anyone who says money can't buy happiness is a damn lie I would love scratch that be happy to be rich
Looks like a JEB job
no slide?
Ha-ha - No room!
Some people have more money than sense, that pool is ridicules, I wouldn't want the power bill for running the waterfalls and filtration systems
Very nice, but not an "average yard"
Thanks - The "average yard" is actually referring to the yard size - I agree the yard is not average anymore!
Go get a GoPro... you can afford it!
6 years ago I could not afford one however we have one now and our videos are better, especially in and under water!
It’s pretty but it’s to cluttered
Dude sounded like the world was ending! Slow down bro!
O.pat
Nice......but the camera work makes me nauseous...
Sorry about that - We are trying to get better!

"Average" ok...
Cramped
When you put a resort in your backyard it is cramped but you get to enjoy a resort everyday!
Poor video quality
