BEST Fishing Waterproofs

Best fishing waterproofs?, it has to be army surplus gear, dpm goretex overtrousers and a rip stop army poncho are the two items of clothing I use to keep dry whilst I'm outdoors and fishing in the rain.

me either willy, it's been very cold today and there has been rain and hailstones falling, I've been using mine to stay dry whilst I've been out lure fishing today and it's been brilliant, kept me dry in a couple of pretty heavy showers this afternoon👍

you're kidding mate, I've lived here all my life but I haven't fished in Wirral for over 20 years, i mainly fish in Cheshire, I've just been fishing the Shropshire union with lures but it's hard going lure fishing in water that looks like a chocolate milk shake. i can think of a few places off the top of my head but i'll email them to you mate👍

Yeah mate ive not fished round here for years either. Left Runcorn in 1988 to go in the Army and lived in Sweden.......... only been back 2 years and not up to speed on the waters round here yet

no david, goretex is breathable, i've always been comfortable and dry in mine👍

While Goretex is classed as a breathable waterproof fabric, it is only breathable when the water beads off of the fabric, when it wets out it will no longer be breathable but it will still be waterproof, also under certain conditions you will still get a build up of condensation inside the Goretex. lf you are looking at getting Goretex clothing go for the triple bonded fabric as it is tougher and longer lasting than the 2 ply fabric with a seperate liner.
