      Hi, just wondering, how do you spot a 'fake chemist'? Also, a lot of products do have similar ingredients but work differently on someone's hair for different reasons, may the reason be from the way the person's hair presents/is taken care of, or the product formulation, etc. There are many that have tried pattern and it didn't work well for them, and yet there are others that love it. Hair is such a funny thing but all we can do is keep trying to figure it out. Yes, thus series is brilliant at helping us make informed decisions.

      @@christine1962ful focus on if they say about certain ingredients. For example, if they say to avoid preservatives (that keeps the product efficient), that is a red flag.

    Amen, in Yeshua's holy name I receive the knowledge! No need to suffer...especially when we ask the Father for discernment. Cheers for this vid, Sis. The information about fragrance is the most outstanding for me only because I realize that ppl are just pushing this fragrance-free/unscented trend wherein they'd have you believe that they're deathly allergic to it/them. Oftentimes it's merely a preference of scent cuz those same folks pollute the air with their highly perfumed clothing, wherein they've dumped the entire bottle of fabric softener in their laundry...yet they have the audacity to complain about scented hair products! Lol! smh *And most importantly: Congrats on the book, Tonya!* 🎉🙏☝🎉

    1) those these Big molecules who don't penetrate into ou skin can be harmfull and make big or small damages on the surface of our skin ?
    2) what is the environnemental impact of all these big molecules ? Does it worth it to put them into our hair care products knowing it can maybe produce bad impact for our planet ?

    So glad I found you, it’s a blessing to have this available for our community! Would you be able to talk about why most gels cause our hair to turn white? Is it something in the ingredients, our hair itself or something else?

    • @CurlyChemistry
      @CurlyChemistry  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Nia! It's 2 reasons why we sometimes experience that, #1 the gel is not compatible with some other product that's already in your hair. #2 gels are polymers and sometimes when they get super dry/brittle they will become flaky. A good rule of thumb is to make sure you apply gel to fresh hair with no product build up for best results. Hope this helps!! : )

    You are a professional and should also listen to other professionals, like...dermatologists, who claim fragance in skincare products is the number one enemy. And, no, it won't cause cancer, but it's considered an allergen BY LAW and is co-sensitizing. At least, it is in the EU. Watch Dr. Dray's channel, awsome American dermatologist. Chemists won't generally acknowledge that, because the fragance of the brand they're working for is what sets it apart from another same formula product. And , yes, essential oils are basically fragrance, and they're also irritants, no matter their potential benefits.

    • @pinklobelia2389
      @pinklobelia2389 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You’re absolutely right. I don’t understand how it was missed that many people have fragrance allergies and will get contact dermatitis. I even got a steroid cream prescribed because of how bad it was. Many people just assume that itchiness is normal when it could be the fragrance irritating the scalp/skin.

  • @k.denise7053
    @k.denise7053 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thank you so much for your expertise and videos they're so very helpful. One thing that's true for me though is: I have very reactive skin and scalp is skin. Every single time that I have used anything with fragrance for my hair or otherwise, my skin reacts. So for this reason, I stay clear of products with fragrance even and especially those that claim to be a natural fragrance except rosewater.

    1:30 I've used Dawn in my hair twice before, but specifically to strip my hair in case I have build up in my locs. I've done it two times in a year span. I don't put it on my scalp. I just spray water on my hair, "squeeze" a bit of Dawn in it, then wash it out.
    I definitely hope people aren't using it for loose natural hair for no reason. Dawn is super stripping and I couldn't imagine using it for any other reason than build up. I always moisturize afterwards.
    Anyway, I went on a whole tangent. I think it's great you've created an eBook! Congratulations!

      Hi Tracey! I'm a huge fan of rice water, rosemary oil w/ a carrier oil, just to name a few. Not sure what hair growth options you've tried but those are worth looking into. I will do some more research on this topic and I'll make a video on what I find. :-)

    man you gotta be all kinds of crazy to use a detergent on your hair. especially a degreaser, i mean i can only imagine my hair being EXTREMELY stripped after using that. and interesting, I wonder what you think about Think Dirty's take on hair care items, since you mentioned many things in our products won't penetrate our skin anyway. irritation and surface damage are one thing, but some ingredients are listed as carcinogens.

      Thank you! I've been conditioning my hair with Aussie Moist (love it) and my leave in/moisturizer has been a cream that I formulated. I'm exploring hair growth treatments now, so it's too early to tell what's working and what's not, but I'll share soon! :-D

      @@CurlyChemistry Please share soon. My hair(low porosity) which is half gray and half colored doesn't like most drug store brands. There a few I can still use though.

    I don't recommend dawn or any dish liquid, just as with anything you could be allergic and it can swell the lips....don't ask me how I know, but I know this is factual.

    We don't get educated on how to read ingredients so we see something we can't read and we just say "nope" ngl I'm still like this. I don't trust companies so I'm good

    Dawn is used on animals(not for testing), why cant we use it for hair? Sometimes thats what removes all the coconut oil build up before a silkpress. Can you do a video about heat damage? And what causes it from you perspective?

    As I always say... Itching ears will believe anything. My hair is now bra strap and it was due to me giving my hair daily water externally and internally and deep conditioning after a long protective hairstyle etc. Diy deep conditioning treatments at that.

      @CurlyChemistry  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      So true!! Especially the water internally part, so important! :-)
