    hey ! i got the wonderboom for 49$ and the basses kicks in ! i compared my speaker to a jbl charge 2+ and man for the size it sounds pretty similar and as loud as the jbl ! (the jbl have a better sound but it's because of it's size wich allows having better speakers inside) well im totally proud of my wonderboom !

    • @insidetechltd
      @insidetechltd  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Nice comparison! I’ve also looked at the charge 2+ before so I can see what you mean. Yes it is bigger and has a bigger sound, but for the price...the wonderboom could be better value!

      Well wonderboom has 360 audio while JBL has front firing so while wonderboom is louder it doesn't feel that louder

    I recommend the Soundcore Motion Q for indoor use. I pair it with my Sony XBR A1E and get great sound. Using it as a single speaker is flawless. Pairing with another can become hit or miss at first. Only complaint is that when watching videos, it takes about 5 secs for the sounds to sync up properly when using it paired mode. This may be due to the old Bluetooth protocol it uses.

It has hella bass for its size. And lemme tell you guys every time someone hears my shxt playing it gets pure love. I highly recommend the soundcore boost anker has done an awesome job with this one✊💯

    • @CardoDon
      @CardoDon 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Haven’t heard the motion Q in person as yet but personally, i’d still go with the soundcore boost. And yes I’m a bit of a bass head, though the soundcore boost has been proven to be louder and more realistic sounding than the JBL flip 4 without using the bass up technology. Check that out if you will.

    I have UE Wonderboom and UE Megaboom. I can dare say, considering its size, UE Wonderboom is the best portable speaker in the market. In terms of audio quality, durability, portability and design. Before buying it, I have tested many speakers for months, such as Bose, JBL, Sony, libraton and many others. The interesting fact is that I first bought UE Megaboom for myself and then UE Wonderboom for my girlfriend with half the price, expecting it having a lower audio quality. But unexpectedly, i was surprised with the amazing quality. You can't even tell the difference as they have same loud clear audio quality.
    It is worth mentioning, I value audio quality and clarity over loudness, but UE Wonderboom amazingly has both.
    I think UE has the best portable audio speakers in the market in any scale.

    I use the wonderboom for my job at summer camp, a lot of other staff do as well. Also sold the Sony and UE options at my full job. The UE is a tank, does fine in pouring rain, gets banged around in zipline towers and covered in dust or mud at the archery range and it's still like new. The tiny loop is for carabiners, great for hanging from a belt loop or bag. It can pair to an absurdly high number and range of UE products, which is why there is no stereo. Also ran a demo for them when I worked at staples and would literaly submerge it mid song. The Sony is quite quiet and not nearly as loud. However, the size is nice.

    Wonderboom stereo pairing has some of the best sounding in all my speakers. I regularly collect a number of top rated speakers: JBL, Bose, Fugoo, Sony - Sony has usually the lightest magnet/hardware, paired with over boosting bass via software, which I do not recommend.

    WONDERBOOM OWNERS READ THIS. I have the wonderboom and At low volumes it sounds really bass heavy. On Some songs the wonderboom makes it kinda vibrate because the tweeters and passive radiator csnt tske it so dont play base heavy songs high volumes. If you want to know what I'm talking abt play this song at max volume (Blake-Such And Such) and you will see what I mean. Thanks for spending time to read this it's kinda a heads up not to blow your speaker.

    Great review.. For the money, get two xb12. They have come down in price so much.. Use with a high end Eq with preamp app. You then have two light weight speakers that can be used directionally depending on how you place it. If your going for one water proof speaker just get a Bose micro, then you should just get two. More expensive but really do sound good on the low end.. Otherwise just get something bigger?

    On basis of sound and bass which one should i buy? Sony XB10 or Motion Q?

    • @insidetechltd
      @insidetechltd  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends what you mean by “sound”. In terms of quality, i.e. frequency reproduction, the XB10 offers higher quality sound (and a better overall balance). The Motion Q is much louder and has deeper bass though - if you don’t consider yourself an audiophile, the motion Q would be the way to go!

    When do you think audio hardware will become cheap like televisions? Or is the demand/market completely different because there is no similarly huge leaps in technological advancement?

    • @insidetechltd
      @insidetechltd  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Would you say that small speakers then, for example, are relatively expensive? I’d say that we have actually seen a big price drop in this area too. Perhaps the advancements are more subtle, but I think that that battery life relative to the size of the drivers in the speaker, and also water resistance has improved a lot over the last few years. And we’re paying the same prices for them.
      I see what you mean about about televisions though. Maybe the price drop is more noticeable because they are more expensive to begin with. A 10% price drop on a £2500 OLED is much more significant than on a £50 Bluetooth speaker.
      You’re right about the demand too. ‘Everyone has a tv in their home’ (roughly speaking) but not everyone has or uses Bluetooth speakers. Particularly with the older generation, it is not as common to find these devices here. They often rely on connecting with a smartphone or using Bluetooth or some other wireless technology. A television, however, is much more universal. So this could be a factor too.
      A really interesting question though! I’m sorry I couldn’t really help other than speculating!

    • @rockerdude83
      @rockerdude83 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      In response to your first paragraph, I was trying to ask if the performance enhancement played a different role in each product. Could the different behaviors be attributed to the fact that one product's main focus is performance while the other is just a balance between safety/portability and accessories? Is it that TV tech gets cheaper because there is new technological advancements that make the old ones obsolete while speakers are more of a thing where you have just always sort of had this set standard that never really changes?
      Also, with all the gaming and streaming that is currently going on, do you think that we can expect to see a day where there are no more crappy chinese speakers on the market due to the affordability of decent quality, full-bodied sounding speakers? I am thinking like Wonderboom quality for MotionQ price. Or is that just something we can never see no matter how much demand there is for higher quality at a lower price?

    • @insidetechltd
      @insidetechltd  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I absolutely think that some products aim to introduce more or different/unique features rather than to prioritise the improvements to the main feature. I.e. with speakers it could be that a new and unique feature is focussed on rather than simply improving the audio quality.
      I think you might be right about TVs vs speakers. As new screen technologies evolve they essentially make the older ones obsolete (where are plasma screens now?). So as the newer TVs come out they drive the older TV prices down. Whereas with speakers, you might get new speakers with different features but that doesn’t necessarily mean they are better than an older generation model.
      As for the Chinese market, what I actually believe will happen is that the western world will start to see more Chinese brands amongst the ‘big names’. Yes, there will always be “crappy speakers” too, but you’ll also see some new, strong competitors at the top end. The growth in this market is incredible and I think it won’t be long before it catches up (and before the quality catches up).
      Take a look at Huawei. Now one of the biggest global leaders in telecommunications and the manufacturer of arguably a top 5 flagship smartphone. Who would have named them up there 10 years ago? So I think the emergence and growth here as well as in other markets will lead to a general decline in price relative to the quality of speakers. (Although when you plot this growth versus inflation it can be harder to track an actual decrease in price...)
      Either way, the choice and availability of great sounding speakers will only increase. So I should think that some cheaper options will come with that too!

    I have a wonderboom, a bose soundlink color 2, a friend have a soundlink micro also a megaboom i changed him for a onyx studio and also a boom2. All i can tell you is that the WONDERBOOM is the best full range speaker of its size, the color 2 may sound clearer, the soundlink micro sound tinny compared to wonderboom, i can even feel more sub base on the wonderboom compared to the boom2.
    Also... When playing with the equalizer on the wonderboom you can push up bass, treble frequencies and it doesnt muffle the other frequencies. The wonderboom may not be the clearer BUT its the one that will make you happier. I would be disappointed to have the crispier speaker in the world with no bass to fill the room im playing it.

  • @NilakshMalpotra
    @NilakshMalpotra 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey I think the 50% audio idea for testing sounded good in theory but I don't think it's the right thing. I had to constantly change my volume everytime to judge the sound difference, which was pretty inconvenient. Maybe you can have the sound volume comparison at the end instead?

    • @insidetechltd
      @insidetechltd  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello! I tried to balance the audio so that at a comfortable listening volume for the video, the speaker loudness would be at an appropriate volume for all of the tested speakers. This meant that the loudest speaker would be pushing the upper limit but that the quietest would still be audible.
      This won’t be appropriate for all listeners using various computers/speakers/headphones and I couldn’t adjust the video to suit everyone. I’m sorry it caused problems for you!

    • @NilakshMalpotra
      @NilakshMalpotra 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      InsideTech no what I meant by that is, that it was hard to judge the sound characteristics of the individual speakers. I know that audio from a mic though TH-cam through my headphones is not the most accurate, but still it was hard to compare the individual sounds. That's cos my usecase doesn't depend on loudness as I'm gonna be keeping it close, though I do understand the loudness-distortion argument as well

    • @insidetechltd
      @insidetechltd  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, in that case you're right. I suppose there isn't a speaker 'quality' test in this video at all. There is only a speaker 'loudness' test. I can understand why you might not find this as useful: speaker quality is normally more important. However, as you said, I didn't include such a test due to the quality losses recording through a mic, and then playing through other speakers/headphones. If the video runtime wasn't already so long, I might have included a crude version of it too. I'm sorry it didn't make the cut this time!

    • @NilakshMalpotra
      @NilakshMalpotra 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      InsideTech alright! I still feel there is some way to compare, so an emphasis at the same loudness and then a loudness test at the end is more useful for me. But that's my use case I guess.
