you have to click "E" right before the square hits the note in the pink light. you cant do it too early or too late or else you will lose a life.
you have 3 chances or lives to get it right or else you restart. the lives are the hearts shown on the left.

For the melodies you have to do the pageant which you unlock after the whole quest, you can go back to celestia and talk to Harmonia since she is near the fountain and she will teleport you there

You could get it in the astro pass last year, now you can get it after you complete the quest and play the fashion race. If you are VIP you can get the set with the melodies you get in the minigame!
