Haha I used to say "Ay-mex" and got corrected in the comments, so now I say "Ah-mex" (still not sure which is best). Congrats on the Amex Gold! It's been at the top of my list of cards to get, but other great offers keep bumping it down. Didn't know that you can escape the popup using different links!

It's a full time job making sure they're all happy. Yeah, the Amex gold card is a great option especially if you value membership rewards points at more than 1 cent per point.

I applied for the Amex Gold this past Sunday night actually. Although I typically use the Citi CC card for groceries, finding the 90K MR points offer was too good to pass up and I value MR points higher than Citi Thank You points when transferring out to partners. And using the dining credits and Uber credit are easy to use since I tend to eat out once a week. Citi has no good high end cards currently so Im steering away from using my Citi CC for a while. I opted for old school Gold. Feels weird having the card.
Hey Joh, congrats on the card! Citi CC is a great card, but yeah this Amex gold offer was way too appealing to pass up. Since you can get good use out of the credits, this card sounds like a no-brainer for you. 🤑

I was a little hesitant to do it for a while now because of the AF but the more I have thought about, it just makes sense given the reward for using the card. Being able to find a 90K offer was the tipping point and the $200 statement is gravy.
Great points here! For me, the AMEX Corporate Advantage Program credits me $100/year as a statement credit on the Gold, and I find value in the Uber credit by using Uber Eats for Chipotle (ends up with same exact cost) and choose pickup order for lowest fees. This in combination with Uber One free thanks to my Cap1 SavorOne actually come out even cheaper. Long story short, Gold Card in your setup has a very specific purpose and even the bonus is worth the one year if you don't use the credits, or if the AMEX offers also provide value.
Combining the savorone with the gold is smart right now! Sounds like Gold is a no-brainer in your case. We have a shake shack right near our house, so I don’t think I’ll have an issue getting value from the credits.

Hey Rudy, thank you! That’s a great question. Simply put, she’s not a credit card person… LOL. I put labels on her cards so that she will use them in the correct categories. She has a handful of her own cards, but she has no interest in managing the amount of cards I manage.
Maybe I can get her into it a bit more in the future, but we’ll see. She certainly loves free travel, however 🤩

@@jennifervincej4246 I've labeled her grocery store, gas station, and catch all cards since those are the ones she's physically using most of the time. If we're working toward a particular welcome bonus, I'd label that one "everything" until the minimum spend is achieved. I use my label maker so they can be removed when things change.
Question when u get approved do u pay the 250 right then and there or do u wait a whole year until the first payment of 250?

I didn't realize this was a different type of card. How exactly is it different from credit cards? What is a "charge card"?
A traditional charge card is a card without a set spending limit that is not meant to carry a balance on. However, the Amex Gold now has a pay over time feature, but it’s something you have to opt into.

I got a email saying i was denied and didn't say anything other than my credit score which is 677 so 23 to 33 points from being able to get it😂😂😂 but man 250 annual fee is there a activation fee to?

Hey, yeah, so that’s definitely confused me in the past as well… it’s a point bonus equal to 10% of your annual spend. Unfortunately it doesn’t matter if that spend is in a 1x category or a 5x category, it’s still the same .1X

Am I the only person on the planet incapable of getting the 90k SUB? I’ve tried every referral link, incognito mode, etc and all I can get is 60k points. A week ago I was at least getting 75k point offers, now I can’t find anything above 60k!

Instead, you’re earning 10% more points based solely on the dollars you spend during your given account anniversary. Your video is misleading, at no part of the terms of the CSP it says anything about 3.1X. Literally not one TH-camr dedicated to the credit card game has ever said that. You have no credibility, I’m sorry.
@@iswish_41 Correct, you're earning bonus points that equal 10% of your total spend for the year... If I spend $10,000 on my CSP for the year, I get 1,000 anniversary bonus points. Now, what if that $10,000 in spend is SOLELY in the dining category? In this case, I will earn 3 points per dollar spent, totaling 30,000 points. When I add my bonus points, I walk away with 31,000 points for the year. 31,000 / 10,000 = 3.1
The 10% anniversary points bonus adds an effective 0.1X to your CSP spend. 1X effectively becomes 1.1X, 2X becomes 2.1X, 3X becomes 3.1X and 5X becomes 5.1X. '

I think Amex should be pronounced like American. The Gold card is a great card and it definitely has a high signup bonus. I’m actually considering applying for it while the 90,000 point bonus is still being offered. The grocery category won’t really benefit me at this time because I’m getting 5% cash back on groceries with my Chase Freedom Unlimited card until December of this year. However, I think I could benefit from the 4x back on restaurants starting in July after the 5% cash back expires on my Discover It card. We tend to use Grubhub in my household at least once per month, so I know I should be able to offset the annual fee by at least $120. I’ll probably get the gold card in the rose gold for myself and the traditional gold for my authorized user. Hopefully I don’t end up in popup jail like I’ve seen a lot of others.
