Amazing! And what a beautiful painting! I am learning to paint and am using acrylics. I became very ill and disabled a couple of years ago, but took up art as a hobby, and it has really benefited me so much. It's fun and relaxing. I am self taught, but these tips are so good.
Excellent instructional video Marion. Thank you so much for the time and effort it takes to "teach" properly. Your videos are a pleasure to watch and listen to, and they provide fantastic tips for us who are trying to improve our painting skills. They are easy to understand and to show the points you are trying to convey to us. Cheers!
I am loving these tips especially since I'm a newbie and I mean a real newbie at this... I have watched so many videos to ensure I'm equipped with the fundamental steps to go ahead with my first painting
Omg! Again. You explain so much. So many thinks i had no clue. I have been fumbling through learning. Trial and error. Using mediums, brush names, etc. thank you.
Beginner tips: 1) Tone the canvas first 2) Use white gesso for large areas 3) Always work in layers, don't rush anything 4) Add your background first 5) Use the gel medium in creative ways Much painting pleasure guys. Cheers
I learned so much. Never heard of using the gel medium before. I will be getting some straight away! I like painting with acrylic and would love it if you would post more videos on acryllic whenever you can. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us!☺️
Thank you so much for this video, and I cannot tell you how thrilled I am to find you. I have been attempting to learn to paint using the internet and was ready to quit. Your easily understood instruction on how you are using your brushes along with your fantastic tips convinced me to give it another try. I can't wait to get started. And your daisies are beautiful. Could you please explain the brush move used to make the leaves, as well as name the type of brush you used? Thanks again!
Thank you! Great tips, very useful! Other painters don’t admit that they use the gel. It makes a huge difference. I do get frustrated how quickly the paint dries. This video helped me.
Hi again! Can't thank you enough! This video gave me so much! I watch it every day because it is so full of great tips. I love working with gesso the way you do! Thank you for sharing your knowledge! I couldn't find the formula for acrylic paints. Again, love your accent. Greetings from Israel!
Fantastic video, thank you! I must admit I paint acrylics on stretched paper because I have never liked canvas, so tend to work a little thinner in the first layers as I am always nervous the paint may crack when the paper is removed from the board! Going to watch more of your videos for tips ☺️
Thank you so much.....I have been struggling for ages with blending acrylics....but now you have explained it so well I think I can now produce much softer blended paintings!
I have watched dozens and dozens of acrylic tutorials. In my opinion, yours is the most useful and practical of them all. Bravo and many thanks. Instant no-question subscription and like!

Enjoyed watching you paint those sweet little daisies in the vase. You say not your best art work, but it was so quick, simple and really good to watch. Thank you.
Hi... i love following your tutorials. I have become a better artist because of you. Watching your tips, i wanted to mention that once i have my background done and dried. I use colored chalk to outline my vase and even select the placement and size of flowers. It works well for me because i can modify and make changes easily by wiping the chalk off with a dry paper towel and redo it again. Thank you again...Ken from Boston
Dear lady, What a beautiful painting and you make it look so easy....the sign of a great artist. Bless you and thank you so much for sharing your gift with us.
Normally i used to face problems while trying to blend the colours on canvas, since it was gwtting dried up fast. Now you showed a way to overcome it. Using gel is a good idea. Thanks. Because i am learning painting from net. Not from any art schools. Thanks for the valuable tips .
I really enjoyed how you explain and teach, I was also “painting around” my main object so I really appreciate how you painted the example then crossed it out, very effective, thank-you very much for these fantastic tips, specially the clouds...so difficult for me, now I’m excited to put them in action.
Awsome video!! I watched it earlier but tried the short cuts instead. Now I'm ready to get serious about understanding the uniqueness of acrylics and how to use them properly for much better results. Thanks!
I love this! Starting as a new hobby artist. Thank you. It seems the gel makes a huge difference in the end product, more creamy and soft versus acrylic alone.
So happy I found this, simple explanation, great advices, fabulous in every way. Gets me very inspired to try all new advices and make awesome happy art! Mahalo
Great informative tips, I agree with Iris! Have also subscribed and I'm off now to find your other videos. Thank you so much for sharing your tips.👏🏻👏🏻😍🇬🇧
Thank you for the information. I do more acrylic pouring. I’ve done a quite large wood round. I first painted it with Jesso. it came out really pretty. I was thinking of using resin to seal it. But should I use gloss varnish instead. Do you have any tips? I was going to use it as a table top. It is pretty thick.
I love all the different ways to use the gel medium! I just paint with the Adult Ed classes in the HS and wanting to know how to use the supplies I bought, at home by myself.

Fantastic tutorial, lovely pace. What hake brush could you recommend. Also what is the difference between working into gesso and letting the gesso dry first? Thank you
I like the Ron Ronson hake brush. I only work into gesso when I want a soft blend eg for a sky. Then I dry it and work on top of the blended dry area. Hope that makes sense

Great information. I have been struggling to add sunset colors on a water body and either created green where I didn't want it if my paint remained wet, or hard lines if I worked on a dried background. I think I can go back and finish this piece properly now. Thank you.
