@@Memphistiger02 hi Greg yes it's right next door to us so I've been there a few times, have you been? Their peanut butter ice cream cake is DIVINE possibly the best dessert I've ever had
Rosanna ETC yes I’ve been there a few times. We usually stay with family close to San Ignacio and go to the beach for a few days while in the country.

I've not made it to Placencia yet, but it is on my list for my next trip. The food in Belize is so amazing and the people are very friendly and welcoming. It really is a beautiful country.
Placencia was the first place I visited. Fell in love! Itching to go back!!

hi! They are in Belizean dollars, and the rule of thumb is that $1 US Dollar = $2 BZE Dollars

Did you go there in February? How was the weather in the country? How often it rained?
The weather in February was perfect in my opinion, it rained a couple of times but was 90% dry and sunny and it wasn’t too humid either!
It's always a beautiful thing to see foreigners enjoy themselves and document their experience in the jewel! 🇧🇿

When the video started I was wondering if I would see donuts -- There they are -- I like the plain ones with white sugar sprinkled. A Mayan lady was selling the plain donuts; she was carrying the pan on her head. The donuts are delicious out of this world. I didnt see this lady with the donut cart while I was there. I hope next time

Hi Gabriel! I stayed at Umaya which isn’t right in the centre of town but it has a great position with a dual aspect on both lagoon and beach which is amazing. I think it might have changed management since I stayed though. Itzana is also lovely Turtle Inn is amazing

Ever since I was small Belize was my dream country
My local small town decided to allow ugly, modern McMansions to be constructed on the marsh. This blocked the wide river view of large and small homes across the street, which have been there since the 1910s-40s. The older homes are beautifully constructed and immaculately kept. The 300-home development on the other side of town on the river was scaled back to 30 homes but is coming. I realize now that the greed and corruption has even gravitated down to our tiny towns in the US. Selling all and visiting Belize soon.

I love this place and I would have gotten one of each donuts as well. Although I would have loved to stop in the gym before. Working out that close to the beach and water would be nice.
I'm not sure I could cope with working out in the heat but if it was air-conditioned with a view of the water I'd be in heaven! haha

At the shops and restaurants what kind of currency do they accept. only Belizean dollars or US dollars too? Do they accept credit card or only cash?
They will take both Belizean and US dollars and most places now accept credit card! But for street sellers and smaller shops best to have cash on you
@David Peñaloza hiya, those prices were in Belizean dollars, usually all prices will be listed in Belizean but a lot of menus in restaurants etc will show both US and Belizean. There are a couple of ATMS!

What money th used and how much dinner
They use the Belizean Dollar and US dollars are accepted too. One US dollar is the equivalent to two Belizean dollars, and this particular lunch was around 15-20 Belizean dollars I think

hi Frank, thanks for taking the time to comment. Naturally, a 9 minute video cannot show the entire town, this is just an overview and what I explored that particular day whilst I was living in Belize for several months. I was eating at Barefoot Bar, Tipsy Tuna is next door.
