  • What if we could capture pollution in the air around us and turn into something useful? Inventor Anirudh Sharma shares how he created AIR-INK, a useable black ink that's made from PM 2.5 pollution. Learn how new carbon-based materials could disrupt age-old processes in industries like fashion, printing and packing -- and make the world just a bit cleaner in the process.

    This is really innovative.
    But there are some concerns with this technology. The technology used here is similar to particulate filter which basically removes the 2.5 micrometer particles.
    The problem with such filters is that they generate back pressure,decrease efficiency of engine and end up creating more co2 emission.
    If they can tackle this problem it would be great.
    Check out the wiki page of air ink

    • @AnantTripathi1by0
      @AnantTripathi1by0 5 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @hello that claim is really interesting.
      If it's not affecting the performance then it will not generate more co2. I don't know if by the performance he means efficiency or output given by the machine in the end.
      We will have to look at the design of his filter and the particulate filter that already exists.
      And then I think we can come to some conclusion.

    It would be helpful to learn what environmental benefits there are when the particles are captured vs not captured. Is doing this making any measurable improvement?
    Would the ink produced contain carcinogens or other harmful elements? Does it “fix” to a page or does it run if it gets wet? How safe would it be on clothing? The safety factor of the recycled product should be disclosed.

    After the pollutants are processed into the ink it becomes non toxic & safe to use around people?

    • @Skylaignious
      @Skylaignious 5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Joselynm Taylor the current state of ink is toxic and unsafe too. This is a means to divert the air pollution into something else then air it's like recycling plastic. It's still unhealthy for the environment but one cannot undo the making of plastic likewise air will remain pollution but with this if it really becomes a thing then water will be much better organisms will be much better so will be the land and there we have it water air land in a better condition.I just hope this thing does come to a stop because we don't want anymore fossil fuels to be used....

    • @Skylaignious
      @Skylaignious 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @hello I believe all kinds of pollution in every form are unsafe .For organisms Air pollution P.M 2.5 is deadly but so are super small plastic material in our environment.The thing is everything is happening even if we understand it or know about it or not....solid or liquid or air pollution all matter but on immediate level a plastic bottle you use everyday will become dangerous liquid creating machine(storing water in cola bottles and stuff or keeping them in any sort of heat) but is it more dangerous for you when you have already taken in P.M2.5 like 50 times while reading this....I am no expert on this but I think every kind of pollution is nibbling at us constantly to cater to one is like letting others to impact us more......

    • @haydenwalker2647
      @haydenwalker2647 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The problem is that our lungs can't filter out the tiny particles floating in the air, so they clog our bodily systems. Just touching them won't kill you, but breathing enough of them will.

    • @haydenwalker2647
      @haydenwalker2647 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As long as you aren't regularly consuming large amounts of ink (the dose makes the poison), or vaporizing it, it's perfectly safe.
