    Rosie and I picked up Z-392 here in Wisconsin and within weeks we did a 9,000 mile, month and a half trip to Alaska and back. When we got back (just a few weeks ago) we contacted Brinkley and were invited down to their facility to tour and get the brakes taken care of. We had a few other things, and they fixed things we didn't even ask them to and treated us like royalty. We camped for free at the RV hall of fame and toured it also. We have known a couple of the owners from our time with Grand Design and they have a great company with Brinkley. Best RV builder in the business right now. Wow Alaska! We have plans in the next few years to drive up there! We've had great interactions with all the Brinkley reps so far and plan on touring their factory next summer.

    Really appreciate your videos. My husband and I are looking into buying our first RV ever and really like the Brinkley Z3100. It’s very helpful to see feedback from someone who is actually using one.

    Howdy! Enjoyed your videos. Wife and I recently purchased a 3100Z and just love it! Previously we owned a DP. Question: Do you use anything to help minimize the slight movement when walking around inside the RV? Just curious. It's been a long time since we owned a trailer product, not that motorhomes don't move a bit. Thanks.

    • @InterstateExplorers
      @InterstateExplorers  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Congrats on your 3100! We do not use anything to minimize the movement as we find it doesn't bother us. We came from a travel trailer where it was much more noticeable. We used x-chocks with that and didn't notice any improvement so got rid of them. We currently just use SnapPads, but some people use blocks to keep the jacks closer to the RV, which can reduce the movement. Happy travels!

    Hey guys, enjoying your channel and the info you’re sharing.
    We are about to buy a Z3100 also and your videos are helpful.
    How did the two a/c units work in the NM, Tx, Okla weather?
    Your thoughts on the plastic b/room sink? My wife is not pleased with that feature.
    Be safe & thx.
    Steve W.

    • @InterstateExplorers
      @InterstateExplorers  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The AC worked very well in the Texas heat. We stayed in Abilene, TX and it was 107 outside, but still nice and cold on the inside of our Brinkley.
      I'm not sure why Brinkley went with the plastic sink and it's a little small too. Ultimately, it's been something that has not bothered us during our travels though.

    My wife and I are looking at 5th wheels right now, and Brinkley is on the top of the list. It's between the Z 2900 and the Z 3100. She wants the 3100 of course :) Do you think there would be any noticeable difference in towing and backing a 33' vs 35'? I've never towed a trailer that long before. Will have a Chevy 3500 single rear wheel pickup.
    Thanks for your videos, they are superb, greatly appreciate you taking the time to make them.

    • @InterstateExplorers
      @InterstateExplorers  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I'm glad you're finding the videos helpful!
      I've towed a 27ft and 35ft trailer and I definitely notice the difference between the two in terms of turning radius and general maneuverability. My assumption would be that you will need a little more space when maneuvering the 35ft trailer, but the difference should not be too significant. Your Chevy 3500 will be strong enough to tow either option.
      A few differences between the two models you may want to consider. The Z 3100 comes with washer/dryer prep whereas the 2900 does not. We really like the washing machine in our unit and can't "live without it" now.
      The 3100 bathroom is fairly tight, and the 2900 has a much more spacious bathroom.
      Either unit is great and I'm sure both of you will be happy with whatever you choose.

      Good question! We actually haven't been able to open the windows a lot because we were traveling in such hot weather this summer so we kept them closed with the AC on all day. Something to keep an eye on!

    Just curious, it looks like you have a short bed truck. What hitch do you use?

    • @InterstateExplorers
      @InterstateExplorers  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, it's short bed (though GMC calls it standard). We have a B&W Companion Slider hitch. We have only had to use the slider part one time when backing into a tight storage spot.

  • @allanwarmflash4440
    @allanwarmflash4440 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    we use an Anderson hitch reduces chucking safe travels

    • @InterstateExplorers
      @InterstateExplorers  ปีที่แล้ว

      Nice! We decided to go with the slider hitch since we had to back our unit into a tight storage spot and we don't use our truck bed often.

    • @rapierce99
      @rapierce99 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I also have Andersen hitch and it can be positioned like a slider hitch. I have a short bed and can do 90 degree if needed. Also weighs almost nothing and takes less room in bed. Recently helped someone pick up 5th wheel they bought had to use my old slider hitch and man I forgot how much I HATE that thing! So much noise and chucking. Andersen or goose box is way to go.

    Curious how the unit is with just two sets of stabilizer jacks?

    • @InterstateExplorers
      @InterstateExplorers  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's been very stable and much more stable than our old trailer. We don't feel the other person walking around while we're inside. When we are running the washing machine, we do feel the rig shake a bit. But nothing bad.

    • @kenmarenger1246
      @kenmarenger1246 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Did you have ever have a fifth wheel trailer in the past? Fyi, switching out to a GenY gooseneck hitch will get rid of a lot of the chucking and give you your bed back too

    • @InterstateExplorers
      @InterstateExplorers  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@kenmarenger1246 This is our first fifth wheel and we considered the gooseneck hitch and may be switching to that in the future. We don't use our truck for much besides towing, so the having access to our truck bed is not a major concern.

    You pay over 100,000 they shouldn't have any issues most all trailers in the last 10yrs are junk,they are always back in getting service after every trip

    • @InterstateExplorers
      @InterstateExplorers  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For how much they cost they shouldn't be having issues. Overall, we had no significant problems after our 8,000-mile trip like we did after the same drive with our old Grand Design travel trailer. There is a noticeable difference in the craftsmanship with Brinkley.
