AU idea: Bradley's "minions" leave him after the race, because of how he acted during it, disregarding one of his friends' life. He keeps trying to make amends but it always makes things worse. Max sees him trying, so he invites Bradley into their circle and they actually grow close. Things progress to them actually being great friends and Max and Bradley developing a crush on the other. Whilst Bradley fully accepting his own feelings, Max on the other hand tries to stay distant as he is kind of not actually over some of the previous events.
