I love Ant. I don't know how Compound Media is going to go but as long as I can still get my fix of Ant. The rest of the shows are kinda boring, but as you said, TACS is worth it.

Tom Green was actually the first person to do video podcasts with famous guests from his home in Los Angeles and upload the videos to youtube and other streaming services. He called it webovision and this was back in 2005/2006. Rogan has said on more than one occasion that Tom influenced everybody to do it.

Rogan hs also said Anthony was the start of Podcasts with the O&A show, in an interview with Anthony.

I love Ant but this is what happens when you start your high-money career in your 50's like O&A did and try to fuel it into the new internet age. Opie flamed and failed spectacularly and showed where the real talent of the O&A show was, much to Greg's chagrin. Ant finally having to face reality after his bypass/recovery made him have to realize he can't expend the energy running a network, employ people and manage things to where higher-level content consistently emerges, and still live a high quality of life in his new SC digs away from the "real" studio in NYC. It simply just cannot all be done by a man in his mid-60's, helping out a bunch of hangers-on folks of varying talent and competency, who may or may not be able to survive without Compound, if they had to.
Ant is leaving the shop to Gavin who I agree with on 80% of his politics but he's essentially a mid-50ish Gen X'er alkie/former heavy sniffer who's physically in his 60's just like Ant), and likely will not be able to last 5-7 more years without having some sort of life-changing medical event himself that will make Gav have to streamline his plate too. Which will mean probably selling the former Compound/Censored "empire"(or what's left of it by then) to some younger entity like A. Stein, up and coming LWC-type, or God knows who else will be big and able enough by then.
Gavin will not be able to sell off Compound Censored even as a combined entity to any emerging/legacy conservative media buyer the way he did _Vice_ back in the stone ages. This will be a never-ending source of anger/frustration for Gavin, who will not be an age/condition to handle it, when those negotiations/market realities hit.
People want to imagine that their "heroes" like Ant that were on the radio from the earlier-00's when they were in their teens/20's/30's, are still kicking and entertaining people as they did in their "youth"(in their late-40's/early-50's), into the foreseeable future. And they come to depend on that entertainment, as an emotional crutch and source of comfort, as they move into their own uncomfortable middle-age. This makes all this Ant/Compound/Gavin upheaval/restructuring that much harder to deal with, when necessary change inevitably comes. Evolve, adapt or die, I suppose.

I just wish I and a radio would.of survived into the trump presidency. That's would.of skyrocketed cumia as the most important voice in radio and the internet. But unfortunately he was canceled before cancel culture. Gav is a jackass and will not do anything with compound media

good synopsis agree w/u on most of it. dont forget with gavin it wont just be his drinking\blow habit that could bring him down. hes also married to a complete lefty loon of a native wife who only stays w/him for his $. this is why he drinks so much. so basically if gavin outlives his alcoholism he will have to face the humiliation of getting divorced by her and losing most of his fortune to her once his kids are grown, which could make him very outright suicidal or homicidal if and by the time he can make anything out of compound censored in terms of making it profitable\sellable. i highly doubt that will happen. on top of it gavin thinks he has brilliant ceo energy, hes already firing people[which yeah sum of them deserve it but hes being a total d|ck about it], which will turn anybody with any talent to come to work w/him and the new company. gavin thinks being a d|ckhead makes you tough and strong, which in the internet world where nerds\fragile millennial\zoomer kids rule is a fatal mistake. ant should have sold to watp karl or somebody else like that with a more cross cultural audience. gavin will not be able to make this work. bet on it and take it to the fu(k|ng bank.

This was predicted for June 2024 some time in April or May - nice of Cumia to delay it, for the fired helpers. If you watch the last videos, the staff seemed not very shocked if you watch the clippers videos (un-paywalled by critics) - paying 60-70,000 per year when equipment is not costly. There is No need in 2024 for 2-3 people on hand. It's a story of corporate media and even the smaller firms trying to do things the old way, getting crushed by indie startups, one man shows, or two with CMS.

Yeah there was just no need for that level of infrastructure, it was an old school. radio model (staff, ect) once he left NY, it made less sense.

Some UGLY details, Cumia was overpaying for everything - major shows were given 90% pay cuts. Turned them down I expect. Gavin said paying a staff of TEN was outrageous. That tech made doing a show at your house is possible in 2024, Chris said this to Eddie Trunk 'metal show' fans and about Cumia's company years ago.

I hope we more coverage, since it's good to hear from two paying fans who know what it means to run a network (by this I mean CMS !)
Closing this Cumia network down staffwise, is a hot topic in the legacy media space !
This clips video channel is getting out the big clips, saving hours of dull Gavin & Cumia shows
'kevin brennan' is super upset about it and it testing claims vs facts
Cumia claimed to be "grossing loads of money" yet was paying 50k every three months, 2x in 2024 until the sale. This huge cost may have increased his drinking leading to serious heart health issues. The evidence suggests that paying full staff for ten years almost took him under the soil, FFS ! Cumia needed help from Chris Akin !? At least fire half the staff and see if it runs okay, as Elon did with X ?!

To punish youtube, I would at least limit CMS vids on youtube to 720, easy to do, its the limit of rumble and bitchute who both compress the details to a modified 480p
One guy on youtube Eli computer guy aka daily blob - he records at 4k just to spite youtube - when he makes $75,000. He made $200,000 back in the good ad days (that is bitter !). To keep the original upload (not deleting it) is costing lots of storage at that point. Would youtube reward for deleting the originals, or for uploading at 360-480 resolutions - a mystery

Cant figure this out? You have 1400 subscribers..not offense. But Ant was part of duo that challenged Howard..when Howard was a thing...This I think, as much as I hate it is a natural progression in Ants career

Had you sincerely felt it was completely racist? Why do you pay any attention to compound media in general? Shows I find that are racist get zero attention from me.
