- I forgot to add this footage to last nights episode instead of taking that one down and putting up a new one ( all the comments would also get deleted ) just figured I’d upload this separately
Enjoy =)
Enjoyed the tour through Greenfield Village in a vintage Franklin. I'm so glad the owner was willing to let you video the sound of the running engine with the hood open and the pass-by. When you were in the car I was wondering what it sounded like.
Cool! I realize that they drive the cars around at Greenfield Village, but that was very nice of the owner to take you for a ride.
I'm really good friends with the owner he has other cars I met him last year at the greenfield village. Great guy I felt so stupid when I played it back in that that footage wasn't in the video for whatever reason.
I would have liked to have seen the inside of the car. It was nice to see the engine compartment.
There is a full video on that. I forgot to put this footage in that video.
TH-cam doesn't make it easy to edit afterwards you could cut pieces out but it's hard to put stuff in could replace the whole video but then all the comments go away I wish there was a way a better way to do it and you need a PC which I have but it's super slow dial up internet slow well maybe not that slow It's almost as slow as it maybe not quite that slow lol I will get on there once every couple weeks to make a few changes.
Here is a link to the full video

@@What.its.like. Thank you. I'd love to own a Franklin. They are very nice cars and they seem to be very reliable for the time they were built.
I'm glad that you showed how the hood opens! That must have been so cool to ride around in that car. I'm also glad that you just put this clip in a separate video. You are really making me want to get back to Greenfield Village!
Dude you need to go next year I'm going both days with or without the family
@@What.its.like. Sadly, I wont be able to make it. My bigggie trip next year is to Santa Maria, Ca for the National Corvair Convention. Gonna drive the green 65 Monza. Being retired means tons of time to do only what you can afford, :(
I felt like a Walton.
Awesome! That looks like fun!
That's a beautiful car. Rather simple looking but beautiful.
What a blast! It is one thing looking at them , but going out on a ride is next level. Great stuff Jay .
I was really hoping to do more of that. This year is not over yet... hopefully we will get to do that a few more times
Awesome video Man. Glad to see your still killing it. Hope all is well for you and the family! ❤
Hey Zack how have you been?? All is well
Went to Greenville Village as a school trip first grade 1958 nice video Jay thanks for the memories
Awesome thank you so much for sharing that memory to go there for a school trip would be awesome
Wow Jay! How COOL! I bet it was nice to ride in a hardtop car with no windows! With the windshield open more, I bet it would be quite breezy!
It was a cool experience =)
I remember that bridge from last year. Nice drive.
Hahaha right I totally forgot to put this footage in the episode
The mighty Franklin Air Cooled. I've never heard of 1 overheating😀.

That looks like it was such a blast! 🙂

It's possible
Hometown of Link Wray!
I bet you like riding in that car lol , so cool
It was very cool I wish I would've included this footage in there video. I have no idea why I forgot to put it in and TH-cam doesn't make it easy to add once it's posted
Great ride around followup to the Franklin feature.
Surprised you still have dial up internet service instead of DSL (digital subscriber) in your area.
I went from have dial up to DSL in 2019 and have fast internet service even with a copper landline, works as good as all digital VOIP service plus I still use my old collector Bell phones to back up my cellphone. Maybe you can upgrade to DSL if available.
Damn, this looks fun! Do these cars run on gasoline easily found in modern gas stations or do they use a different fuel? I assume these are all manual transmissions? Again, fun to ride along. Echoes of another time, another era in American life…
These old engines are low compression, so they can run on regular unleaded straight from the pump. The problem is that the valve seats are softer than today's cars, so they wear quickly without any lead to soften the valve's closing. You can have the cylinder head machined for stellite valve seat inserts but you lose originality. There are work-arounds like racing gas and AvGas which are better in this regard. There are also additives which claim similar results. With very few miles driven it's not a big problem; daily drivers are a different story. Tetraethyl lead isn't too hard to make, but it's deadly poisonous in concentrated form so nobody in their right mind tries when even the fumes can do you in..
Cool
