What a pleasure to see these antiques on the road!! Wow! I love old cars. I have never had the funds or the mechanical skills to have such a hobby. I do enjoy the creativity of those who do!💕These videos have been a blessing to me. Thank you!
Lived SW of Detroit area 31 yrs, I finally get to see Greenfield village on TH-cam 😃👍, I remember riding in Dads 31 2 dr A model, I couldn’t of been much over 3 yrs of age cause all the years I was growing up a mile from the old home stead the license plate greeted me every time I pulled in the drive. 1953 date on the plate. I’ve enjoyed your experience very much !
I am surprised by the amount of noise the cars make. The early days of the automobile must have been quite a change for the cities and towns every ware.
Hi and welcome to the channel. Thanks so much for tor subscribing too! I really appreciate it. It was a wonderful event and can't wait to get back there this year!
Hello Ken, thoroughly enjoyable two 'roadies'..... I am always fascinated by the old cars, amazing how many have survived from all those decades ago 😮 I'm still hoping to acquire an Austin 7 Ruby saloon (sometime), bet you had a great time!! One new subscriber, keep up the good work sir!. You don't see many old timers on our roads in the UK.
I am so glad you got to make it to the Old Car Festival. We had the privilege of participating several years in our 1940 Ford Fordor, and growing up in Ann Arbor went to many of these shows growing up. What an awesome experience. Thank you so much for doing these videos. Totally blessed with your work!!!!
Hi David! Welcome to the channel! I truly enjoyed driving the car there and will become a regular attendee now! Glad you are blessed watching the videos as I am just as blessed sharing my work!
Hey bud! It was awesome putting a face and a voice to a Social Media friend! Looking forward to next year too. Already my gears are turning on setting up some cool scenes to photograph with friends 🙂
Hey Kenneth! The weather for the event was amazing! The drive home was wet but nothing that wasn't unbearable. There was such a vast collection of cars. There was no way to see or photograph them all.
Wow now i know how noisy city street's were back in 1910 to 1930s some of the early 1900s automobiles had no mufflers LOL great video i love antique cars
Hi Joseph and welcome to the channel! You have an excellent observation in regards to noise. I was actually quite shocked as you were listening to all those cars go by. Just imagine what streets in cities like New York or San Francisco must have sounded like when you add street cars, trolleys, and horse drawn carriages into the mix.
Finally got a chance to watch the video. More vintage metal in one place than I ever thought possible. I could spend about a week in that part of Michigan between the Old Car Festival, the Gilmore Car Museum, and the Yankee Air Museum. Glad you made it home safely.
What a great pair of videos! Such a cool story, great job editing and putting your story together. I'm in Troy, Michigan and been going to the Old Car Festival for many years. You caught my 26 Roadster PU at 17:55. Glad you had a safe trip with out to many problems. Thanks for posting for us to enjoy!
I know you do not do this but some of our English Model A Ford club members have had front wheel bearing failures because of them being too tight . Paul Shinn on You Tube does them too tight in my humble opinion . Over 40 years I have never ever had a failure . One member had to cut the inner race off the axle with an angle grinder . He had adjusted them prior to a club tour . I adjust so I have the barest "rock" at the rim ,I have a box of axle nuts so I choose one to get the best "negative preload " Very best regards and a Very Merry Xmas !!!
Hey John! Welcome to the page. I don't know how Paul does his. All I know is how I've always done any front wheel bearing assembly going all the way back to the mid 70's. Never had a failure from over tightening a front wheel bearing either. A very Merry Christmas to you too!
Enjoyed that. I'm across the Pond in the UK and I own and regularly drive a 1932 Morris Minor two-seater. It's powered by an 847cc side-valve engine producing just 19bhp and transmits it through a 3-speed crash gearbox with 'silent third'. It should be capable of about 52mph or so, but it's much more comfortable pootling along at 40-45mph and will do so all day long. Back in June I did a long weekend (5 days) trip of 600 miles. The little (just under 10ft long) car didn't miss a single beat. Can I ask what gas/petrol you use in the A? We've just had E10 (10% ethanol content) introduced in the UK. Many say it ruins old cars. Have you any experience? Thanks.
Hi Crash Box and welcome to the channel! Sounds like you have a sweet ride! Where I live, I run 100% gasoline. However, on long trips, it is pretty hard to fine. I run what's available during those times. My car seems to run fine on just about anything.
@@kensmithgallery4432 Yeah, I've found that the little Morris runs absolutely fine on E10. I've done quite a few thousand miles on mostly E10 Regular with occasional fill-ups of E5 Super, which is quite a bit more expensive. Strictly speaking we no longer have 100% gas/petrol, but BP forecourts sell a gas/petrol called BP Ultimate which they say has no ethanol. Not every BP forecourt sells it though.
Back in the 1980s a fellow gave me a new carb for a model a 4 cylinder sold in Atlanta from a parts store on peachtree street. Napa auto parts. I promised him that I would keep that carb until I ran across somone who had a 4 cyl a model and give it to him14years later laters Iran across a club at a restaurant out i the parking lot.I asked who had a model a that had a 4cyl…a fellow said I have one,I gave him a new carb for his car free,,,motor head guys do that kind of things for each other!!! Happy I found him after all those years!
Only just seen your most entertaining video . Your transmission does seem a tad noisy ,does it have the dreaded Chinese roller bearings in it ??? Much discussion on "Fordbarn" recently . I am in Suffolk County England my son and I have 6 model As on the road. Just love those cars !!! . Been a MAFCA member for 40 plus years .
Hey John. Welcome to the channel. It doesn't have any Chinese roller bearings in it that I am aware of. Sincxe I use a cheap cell phone for the drive portions, the car seems louder than it really is.
That was fun to watch love seeing those old model t's and few even earlier question did ford stamp bodies for other automobile mufacturers in other countries is saw a guy here on youtube restoring a 1930 citroen its looks like a ford to me
Ken, great videos of the drive to the festival. I’ve been there one time, it’s on my bucket list. I did attend the Gilmore Model A weekend this year. Look at Paul Shinn’s TH-cam page on the event. I’m hopeful to have my Model A in the garage in the next few weeks, KY Ken.
Hi KYbossis and welcome to the channel! I saw Paul's video. I was at the Gilmore earlier this year already but I do want to attend Model A days there if I can tag it onto Old Car Festival. Thanks for the kind words on my videos! I appreciate it very much!
Dear Ken, thanks for your videos, I found them to be most interesting and entertaining. I also admire people like you, who, for a person like me who lives in a small island (Malta south of Sicily) in the mediterraean is big adventure. For curiositiy's sake were there any REO cars at the meeting. I am interested in REO, because my father was the sole agent in the 1930's for REO and surprisingly I still have a soft spot for that brand. Keep it up
Hi Anton! Welcome to the channel! Thanks so much for the kind words. I really appreciate them! In answer to your question, yes, I saw a REO. Just one, but then there were well over 700 cars at the event, so there might have been more.

I honestly don't know. I don't know anything about Jeeps. There is probably several Jeep forums out there with plenty of solid advice. You might want to start there. That is what I did with the Model A.
Hi Alex and welcome to the channel! It does not have an overdrive. It does have a 3:54 rear end in it so that helps with the highway speeds. It also has a lightened flywheel which helps me get off the line a bit quicker.
