They're evenly distributed, but they're all at 10. Several classes start with say, faith, at 7-9. If you aren't using faith then those give you much better control of your stats than wretch does. I love how one of RT's running gags is that there are too many swamps in From Software games...and he accidentally goes straight to the teleporter that sends him immediately to the biggest swamp in the early game.
There's an alternate universe where RT never stumbled into the dragon-burnt ruins, never opened the chest, never got teleported to caelid, and this series is 5 times less interesting.
I found this on the Elden Ring subreddit but thought I'd share it since it's really interesting. The guy who tells you to go through the back of the castle at 35:15 actually takes a fraction of your runes every time you die there. The fact that he bumblefucked his way into the Caelid Wilds and spent way too long there is so funny
I think the best part of anytime RT plays a game with a character customizer is how he always his character a random celebrity
The amount of laughter I got when he unknowingly took that teleport back to Caelid filled my soul with pure happiness.
I'm a player who would literally just go anywhere and fight content until it died regardless of how clearly underleveled I was, and even *I WAS* shocked with how fucking janked RT's progression was. Like I killed that rot dragon that he faced before I killed the 2nd boss of the game, but here RT is finding that guy before the freaking tutorial. Well played good sir, well played
Love how you legit are exploring a hard area naked and unafraid
This playthrough is literally fhe embodiment of Naked and Afraid for the first half I love it
rt this is so fucking funny. i can't believe you progressed in such a godawful way. hat's off to you
Seeing RT approach Radahn's fort in the first 10 minutes, I fully expected to see him just get annihilated by one of the game's hardest bosses at sl1. Didn't even know there was an Ornstien & Smoug type fight if you came there too early. Would've been great to see
what is the fight usually
@@will-jh7yi It's a fight against Starscourge Radahn, who's classified as a demi-god. To get an idea of how tough he is: you're given like 8 summonable companions within his arena, with infinite resummons of each when they die. You're also allowed to use your horse, and his arena is a quarter of the entire area that Caelid occupies on the map. Many attacks of his can 1-shot you at below about 50 vigor.
Where in the vid?
I have to salute you for being teleported to a mid-game area at lvl 1 and deciding to make it your home. I'm sure Miyazaki would be proud.
20:55 Legends speak of an immortal ancient shogun who refused to use a sword, instead choosing to fight using only his fists and his unbelievable stubbornness
ah yes the great Shogun Kachudisu Haando
Great shogun Rumbilous Tumbolous
This Summer:
PUNCH RONIN
4:51 the player ghost blending in with the Sellia mages and swinging at RT so perfectly. Lol
Everyone (at Margit): Wow, the first boss is really tough!
RTGame's "First Boss" to him: Omae wa mou shindeiru.
@@the_bull2663 Explore around, there are ways to trivialise that fight, you also don't even need to see him for a while if you don't want to. can go out of your way to gather upgrade materials for +9 weapon before ever stepping foot in that boss room
@@the_bull2663 You can use an NPC summon, plus spirit ashes summons which should make the boss beatable at pretty much any level. If you don’t want to do that, explore and level up until you can handle the fight.
@@galaxychar oh I knew about all that. I actually finished the fight right before watching this video 👍😂
@@the_bull2663
Margit is tough for lore reasons.
Not using a phantom is a different experience altogether.
@@xxx_jim_the_reaper_xxx yeah I bet!
23:48 you know somethings wrong when the enemy boss gives 400 souls and the ones he kills from the start gives 1-1.7k each but I have to admit the laugh gave me a stomach ache
The irony of exploring one of the late-game areas for 4 hours, only to have Jerry be your strongest item.
Jellyfish is kinda strong, wdym?
RT is the definition of “task failed successfully.”
when I first saw that teleport trap I knew I wanted to see someone just spend their entire early game there, nicely done.
The best summary of the first five hours of RT's playthrough of Elden Ring is "Naked Todd Howard tries take over a castle with nothing but a club and fierce determination."
"Oh cool, RT posted his first elden ring video! I'm a fair bit into the game by now, so him doing the early parts of the game shouldn't be an issue spoiler-wise"
RT: *"So, about that, kiddo..."*
Same here, he immediately ends up at like 3 places I haven't found yet despite being 50+ hours in XD
Same lol, although it paid off for me because I now know where to find the Flamberge. I used it for my entire DS3 playthrough so I'm glad I'm going to be able to use it again.
This is probably the funniest elden ring playthrough I'd watched, and I watched MANY.
Todd looked so miserable. I found it hilarious that you played for 4 hours naked with a club. I’m glad you’re having so much fun with this.
The 4 hours of Daniel avoiding the tutorial are the best 4 hours I've had in 2022 so far. I've never liked games like these, but when Dan or Kevin play to go against a game, any game can become entertaining. 10/10, have watched this madness live, in the VOD, and now here.
2 things leads to this crazy progression;
That one guy in chat screaming for RT to do the Tutorial and The Chest that teleports him into the mines
Love how when he got pants the game gives him a portal back to the castle
Somehow, having a human like character is funnier than a generic monstrosity
I'm always offput by seeing normal looking characters now 😂
RT constantly dying or blowing up on that bridge was mad funny. Legit was laughing the entire time
Allahu Akbar
I enjoyed the crazy naked search for pants and RT was so close to randomly finding the meteoric iron blade in the prawn miner waypoint ruins.
ironically, the wretch class is actually one of the best classes since there's full control on all stats
They're evenly distributed, but they're all at 10. Several classes start with say, faith, at 7-9. If you aren't using faith then those give you much better control of your stats than wretch does. If you want better stats, it's better to pick a class that has stats that you intended to use anyways. Which should be obvious to anyone.
But they start at level one which is actually the best because they can level up in anything they want super fast
@@brettpeebles6566 yea
@@anthonybowman3423 The thing about Wretch is, that it's the only class that starts at level 1, meaning you can put way more points into what you want for sirt cheap.
I think if there is a character that fits the built you want, (ie, no points above 10 in a stat you don't want), they are still better than wretch....
12:37 "I wonder if this is the final zone".
Oh, my sweet summer child.
38:00 "Oh my god that's an army."
Yes, those tend to be in castles.
I don't play Elden Ring or any of the souls-like games but I was dying of laughter.
RT: Alright boys! Time for the first boss!
(dies instantly)
I love the trap that brings you to Sellia. It's amazing to experience and it's amazing to laugh seeing how others got trapped.
Watching this on cold medicine while drifting in and out of consciousness was an experience to say the least
I'm so glad this is being uploaded to the Tubes, I enjoy these streams so much, its always very entertaining watching RT play souls-like games
I love how one of RT's running gags is that there are too many swamps in From Software games...and he accidentally goes straight to the teleporter that sends him immediately to the biggest swamp in the early game.
Watching you play this as a stealth and puzzle solving game is beautiful
There's an alternate universe where RT never stumbled into the dragon-burnt ruins, never opened the chest, never got teleported to caelid, and this series is 5 times less interesting.
when i saw rt committing to exploring a mid-end game area as a level 1 wretch, i knew i was watching the best elden ring playthrough
This is the most chaotic, unhinged start to any playthrough I've ever seen, I love it.
Welcome back to another backwards playthrough with RTGamer. I'm so excited for another swamp level with a crab boss!
when it gets too overwhelming to watch new content I always come back to this playlist, truly a comfort
This is what I imagine hell to be like lol. Naked with a club while insane monsters are chasing you
I found this on the Elden Ring subreddit but thought I'd share it since it's really interesting. The guy who tells you to go through the back of the castle at 35:15 actually takes a fraction of your runes every time you die there. Some people claimed that he actually follows you through the castle, although I've never checked this. And then when you enter the dark room with the Knight in it, it was actually him who pushed you and locked the door behind you.
Before you reach the back entrance grace he'll be near the First Set of Eagles you first encountered. He'll be camping there.
@@bismarckimperia8781 I know it is a bit late but he also follows inside the first place He stands near the barrels on the bottom floor. I know because I almost killed him once by accident
The fact that he committed to exploring after the teleporter trap is quite amusing.
After having watched multiple streamers, RT has done yet again, and did something I haven't seen yet: have the gall to reach the basement of Caelid's Tower and fight the Apostle as the first boss xD
second boss*
Poor Decaying Ekzykes, constantly forgotten
love how he managed to do the literally worst things he could do as soon as he entered the game and managed to make it entertaining
As someone who loves sequence breaking these games, this is the best progression I've seen yet.
The fact that rt played like 4 hours in a part where he shouldn't be yet to go back is hilarious
even more hilarious... he was 4+ hours into the game... and was still level 1 because he didn't even unlock the leveling system yet...
@@arcanumelite4853 imagine his level if he had unlocked it
Well, believe it or not, I have learned something here today: If you want to understand Elden Ring's gameplay or story at all, you've come to the wrong place... But if you want to watch an Irish gamer try to abuse the game more than it abuses him while being every bit as lost as you are, then this video is for you
Dark Souls translated SO well to open world. I still love seeing people end up in Caelid and panic.
Edit: Also playing games like Dying Light and Mirror's Edge never escalated my fear of heights like this game did. Palms were always sweaty, knees were weak and arms felt heavy.
Mom's Spaghetti
honestly if i accidently end up in a caelid mine im restarting the game
Yeah, there's been a few spots in this game that have triggered mild vertigo. They really went all-in on the extreme platforming.
@@cajunseasoning1846 its actually really worth escaping because to the left is one of the most op summoning spirits you can find
@@RobABankWithABagel
There are other games that DO NOT let you have the fast travel option.
me: level 80, struggling through caelid little by little - RT: level 1, sucked in to caelid just looking for some pants for 4 hours
I have seen two things in this video I've never seen before. Really shows how much love they put into this game
Ah yes, beating a FromSoft ball-breakingly hard Souls game using the weakest class and going right to the end game area.
I think this playthrough is the best I’ve seen both on TH-cam and Twitch xD
Edit: 30:19 the fact that it’s “end game” is punctuated by the fact that those two are individual bosses in the starting area, yet they just dump them both on RT, hahahhahhha
the world of elden ring is really damn massive so thats actually just the second area but its a lot harder to beat without exploring the already massive first area
@@xeno4743 i thought the second area was after godrick. The area where the academy is?
@Xeno except that everything in caelid is honestly harder than the capital and forbidden lands.
@@cajunseasoning1846 since its open world there is no real second area but its the area u can access the fastest after limgrave
@@xeno4743 You can access Liurnia just as fast by taking the roundabout path past Stormveil Castle. had a friend who made it all the way through liurnia before killing godrick
That tower 15:06 was my favourite discovery - Like you I was way under leveled exploring after the trap chest. I got all the way up to the resting site inside and quickly left after being slaughtered by the knights guarding what I think was a locked door.
I’m sure the developers intended for you to play this a straight survival game
Your unwavering determination just astounds me every time you play a game
It's the way RT ran straight to the most difficult areas first, truly a fearless pantless hero.
The best thing about this, is that there is no way to play a souls like stupidly. If it works, it works.
Took “I carry a big stick” a tad too literal here.
Initially, I was on the ropes about wanting this game.
Seeing Jerry cleared that up for me.
I will watch this when I finish elden ring for myself, which is gonna take a while because I have a tendency to get easily distracted in open world games. Like yeah I do have a story boss that I could fight right now... OR, I could go check out that sweet cave over there, and then that evergaol, and then those ruins, and so on and so forth.
I spent 20 hours looking for stuff to explore or fight and I didn't even leave limgrave, and I STILL MISSED STUFF
Me in skyrim
@@eliaspanayi3465 Yeah, except Skyrim's distractions are often meaningless and boring.
You could probably watch this entire video only being about 2 hours into the game and not have anything spoiled. He spends most of it dicking around in a lategame area in such a nonsensical way that it doesn't really spoil anything.
@@erincondron8105 I know I probably could, but I still wanna take my time with elden ring first
Beat the game myself yesterday and am going through to watch these now, it's great seeing your playthrough. Seeing how many ways you've managed to go the completely wrong way has just been incredible
