      @@danielgiles1927 dude you need to learn how to type if you want to sound the least bit of intelligence. Because you're talking straight ignorance, people called Martin Luther King a terrorist. You're just like the people trying to manipulate a person's character with false facts, and misleading information. And calling a group of people in a comments middle class as I we're all in the same social class is really ignorant.

      +Biohazardx I'm Polish, and our democracy is only 26 years old. Before that we were ruled by a communist Soviet puppet regime for 45 years, before that being in the middle of WW2, earlier still a period of 20 years of being a country as 1772-1918 it was carved up between the rule of the Russian, Austrian and Prussian empires. With this in mind, back in Poland (live in UK) patriotism is a kind of which has connotations of great suffering, oppression, and uprising. Personally, and - least I hope - for a substantial part of the younger generation, born around the fightback against leninist communism of the 80's and after, it's also a feeling of being born in a country of a people united under Solidarity (literally lol), despite their differences, to fight for freedom and democracy, and most importantly - peacefully, unfortunately with bloodshed but with no civil war. (This is actually a very common view but IMO many take it for granted and more of an afterthought)
      Like I wish it was all this pretty and and idealistic and end there but it's obviously not it's actually plagued with racism, the main cause of which is having an ethnically VERY pure country of little minorities which is an aftereffect of Hitler's slaughter, combined with demonisation by the media, politicians and institutional Catholic church whose influence has been entangled with politics since 1989 despite a separation of the state and church being in the constitution from 1997 I believe. Christianity has been pushed as heavily entangled with Polish identity for centuries but especially since the 90's by politicians (also religions were oppressed under communism) and even more now. It's interesting now as there's a lot of division over recently discovered Secret Police files which include documents portraying that Lech Walesa, the hero of free Poland, catalyst for the fall of communism in central/eastern Europe and leader of Solidarity was a secret communist informant - and the current government accuses him of being a puppet protecting communist fortunes when he was the first President of free Poland. Of course the files could've been faked by the authorities, as was proven they did in 1983, so they'll be checked.
      But now see all of this is now turning into a battle for the soul of Polish identity, with the ruling party using rhethoric that calls those against their "good change" and "taking power away from corrupt elites" and defending Walesa, "communists", "thieves", "not Polish", "anti-Polish" and in effect, with their other NUMEROUS escapades using patriotism as a political weapon to control social opinion and morph it into and overwhelming support for them so they can gain a 2/3 majority, change the constitution and proceed as far as they wish from there. As a Pole it kinda scares me but yeahhh

    • @robmech255
      @robmech255 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Biohazardx Ok so I'm blazed and rambled like a bitch but there's some thoughts on patriotism and its applications, basically I agree with you because in the end patriotism becomes nothing but a populist political whip lol

    If Buckminster Fuller had had a son, he'd probably have wanted him to be just like Immortal Technique.
    R. Buckminster Fuller quotes:
    "When I am working on a problem, I never think about beauty, but when I have finished, if the solution is not beautiful, I know it is wrong."
    "If humanity does not opt for integrity we are through completely. It is absolutely touch and go. Each one of us could make the difference."
    "Ninety-nine percent of who you are is invisible and untouchable."
    "Either war is obsolete, or men are."
    "If you are the master be sometimes blind, if you are the servant be sometimes deaf."
    "Search others for their virtue, and yourself for your vices."
    "God is a verb, not a noun."
    "Sometimes I think we're alone. Sometimes I think we're not. In either case, the thought is staggering."
    "Those who play with the devil's toys will be brought by degrees to wield his sword."

    My experience told me that peace has to start in ourselves and that we have to stop thinking that the "world" and "others" are responsible for the peace on Earth. It looks as if we are stuck concerning our evolution, as if we don't want to really grow up and take full responsibility for ourselves. As I took this path of growing up I know that it's possible to live in peace with oneself and others. It's not easy to be confronted with everything that we don't want to see in ourselves and what we normally project on others. If the projections stop we don't see enemies everywhere anymore or only if there are real enemies. We start to see clearer and not through the filters of our own subconscious or unconscious matters. If we continue to wait for others nothing can change and the consequences might get very bitter.

    Why does it matter who settled on what continent?
    The way I think about it we all bleed red and are human beings.
    It's ignorant to look at people differently based on color and that's racism wether you're white black brown red or yellow.

    • @questcrewfanify
      @questcrewfanify 10 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      its when the races claim wrong discoveries and achievements. whites claim they discovered America, when they obviously didnt.

    • @pjauthur9869
      @pjauthur9869 10 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      why does it matter? it is ignorant to think institutions that run our daily lives don't "look at people differently based on color" when these institutions where created and perpetuated on a narrative that is: whites > every other color, rich > poor, powerful > weak.

    • @kaelongorke2681
      @kaelongorke2681 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +questcrewfanify
      "White People" didn't claim anything.
      Somebody who was "White" maybe claimed that people of their color did, but saying "White People claim this" is very false - because I'm white and I never claimed shit about discovering America. See that's where it gets personal, because now you are bringing me into a problem that you have with some other dude who is of Caucasian descent, saying that I have the same belief as him just because I am also of Caucasian descent.
      Do you now understand how ridiculous racism is?

    • @KidOmnipotent
      @KidOmnipotent 10 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      ***** What is I don't even... No one cares about you. When "we" say "white people" we address the collective, the decision makers, not you. We don't care about you, we don't think about you. On an individual level you are powerless and insignificant. When we say "white people" we're looking UP, not ACROSS on the metaphorical ladder. Please stop. You're solely addressing semantics and you look foolish. Don't attempt to hide under a guise of knowledge, anyone with it sees through whatever point you were attempting to make.

    • @seriousone8229
      @seriousone8229 10 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      *****
      I wont be as harsh on you as the previous person since it doesnt serve a purpose. U.S history is taught by white people in school, and it's different from the Native Americans and Mexicans.Slavery was done to blacks by whites in the U.S. Racism lives today and it really only matters when it's whites doing it to minorities. If you own every thing and you have the power in this country being approx 65% of the population with most of the judges, cops,prosecutors being white then people will generalize. You have to be intelligent enough to understand that. Don't take generalizations personal. Now unlike the previous writer you do matter and so does your opinion.

I struggle be honest with myself at times and do things I am proud of. But when I listen to IT, I am able to reflect on myself and I not repent, but raise my head in stronger conviction to be better. That is the power of a figure like IT. Maybe many years from now, he may be regarded as one of the greats up there with Ghadhi and Mandela.

    to all ppl that sayin they would vote for him .. its not about waiting for a honest leader to appear ... its about to changing yourself and the way u think, live and how u treat other humans and animals! who are you givin your money ? the big companys or are you supporting your local organic farmer? where is your electricity renewable or nuclear power? who you give your money? to big banks or do you support ethical banking? thats what WE ALL CAN DO TODAY! so stop waiting and change yourself!
