I’ve been restoring (for the second time) my 4 speed 4 barrel 289 powered 1967 Falcon futura sports coupe. I was 22 when I did it the first time, 58 now. The hood was damaged the first time around and being young and in a hurry and broke, I filled it with mud and continued on. This time I scored a complete donor car to get a decent hood. Needless to say I am now in the midst of building a complete lower cowl from scratch to return my “parts” car to the roads. I feel your pain. Keep on keeping on.
Even better, Frans- as I tell my wife - "Look Honey, Barry makes me look normal!" I laughed out loud when he pointed to those front shackles and said - 'Those'll need some penetrating oil...' (Yeah- called a Sawzall and cut-off wheel ;)) He's fearless!
From the looks of the roof line and the filler panel below the back window, you will have to remove the quarter panels to make the repairs. But with the jig in place this shouldn't be an issue. It will also make it easier when you tube it our.
It was a warm summer day when John and his girlfriend Samantha set out on their much-awaited holiday adventure in their brand new red Mach Cobra. They had planned to drive through London, soaking in the sights and sounds of the bustling city. As they drove through the crowded streets, John couldn't help but feel a sense of exhilaration. The car's powerful engine roared as they zipped past other cars, and he felt a rush of adrenaline as they navigated through the maze of narrow roads. But their adventure took an unexpected turn when they stumbled upon a group of street racers. They were all gathered around a sleek black sports car, revving their engines and preparing for a race. John, always up for a challenge, couldn't resist the temptation to join in. With Samantha by his side, they lined up at the starting line, the sound of the engines echoing through the streets. The signal was given, and they took off, the red Mach Cobra shooting ahead with a burst of speed. They weaved through the streets, dodging obstacles and narrowly avoiding collisions with other cars. John and Samantha were completely absorbed in the thrill of the race, the wind whipping past them as they hurtled towards the finish line. As they crossed the finish line in first place, John let out a triumphant shout, feeling more alive than ever before. But their adventure wasn't over yet - as they drove through the city, they discovered hidden alleys, quirky shops, and charming cafes, immersing themselves in the vibrant culture of London. As the sun began to set, they reluctantly made their way back to their hotel, the memory of their adrenaline-fueled race and adventurous day still fresh in their minds. They knew that their journey in the red Mach Cobra had only just begun, and they were ready for whatever adventures lay ahead.
That's going to be a lot of work. I thought my 73 Mach 1 was bad, but DANG!! that 69 is mostly swiss cheese at this point. I'm looking forward to watching you restore this one.
Great job! I'm finishing up a '69 GT, same color as yours. I thought mine was bad off, but after seeing yours, I got lucky. I had to replace everything but the roof, front aprons, rockers, cowl and one front fender. This was my first rust bucket renewal. Loved every minute of it!
Thank you for doing this and sharing the whole process that you are doing. Makes me really want to learn more and get a car for me and my kids to do. Maybe not this big of a job but I have always wanted to rebuild one
Barry, I'm so impatient toi discover the following videos. After having watched others here, I can Say your videos, the way you explain all the steps are the best. I feel as excited as I was with Brooklyn Pony.Really hoping this Time it will not end as Brooklyn Pony. 🤞
Bummer you’re gonna do all this work to restore a true 428cj and it will end up resto-mod. I have a 70 Mach1 that I’m considering resto-mod because it wasn’t anything as desirable as a 428 CJ.
I was looking forward to seeing if the jig was going to fit the 69 and if dimensions were close. I see that all is good and you broke in the new cordless tools making good use of them. Have to see how big a pile of usable parts are left when you get further into it. Good progress and content as usual.
Looks close to what my 67 coipe looked like 5 years ago. Just wondering how you determine how much to charge a customer. I'm sure they buy the parts. I'm about to retire from my day job and thinking about my next endeavor.
thanks for the great video. i happen to just pickup a 67. its seems to be pretty rust free. Its only had one re-paint for its entire life. What grit sandpaper would you use to remove the second paint and primer
Hmmmmm........ You did brooklyn pony with no jig, per say". just a leveling frame. Are you trying something diff here? Just seeing if the car is straight, or????

❤it's nice to see that there are people who are just as crazy as me

I looks like the jig worked as you described. I am very interested in the rocker supports. Very interesting project.
Hi barry that is a lot of work. It will take a long time to be but you will get it dun .
That is a pretty cool idea what that boat trailer how to line things up I like😊
This reminds me of the Brooklyn Pony, but later, hardtop edition. lol
Great video.. Looking forward to c this project to completion
Wow, I am not sure I would even consider saving that one. As always you I am impressed with the projects you are willing to tackle.

Good to see your jig is working out. Might want to consider getting a Tetanus shot, just saying. Love it!!
I can’t wait to see how much of this car you can keep. I don’t think it will be much
Wow that is in rough shape mate. I am looking forward to seeing how it turns out. Love your enthusiasm and passion 😃, I can relate.
Check out the progress in the following videos in the playlist.
Good stuff

Awesome work, just found you channel. I’m looking forward to seeing more
Do you keep a running list of discrepancies going? If so, it would be interesting to see that list. How do you keep it all organized?
Not really. I just identify them and fix them. The items I remove get bagged and tagged accordingly.
thanks for the great video. i happen to just pickup a 67. its seems to be pretty rust free. Its only had one re-paint for its entire life. What grit sandpaper would you use to remove the second paint and primer
Can I ask why you only want to try and remove just the second paint? That will be difficult.
@@JoDaddysGarage you just answered my question. thank you
I think I remember that car. Didn't you visit that car in a previous video? The guy had it in his garage and was just starting to take it apart.
Not the same car.
is that a $75 k restoration
That project appears to be another Brooklyn Pony project.
Hmmmmm........ You did brooklyn pony with no jig, per say". just a leveling frame. Are you trying something diff here? Just seeing if the car is straight, or????
I didn’t have a jig available for the Pony. This car is a little different in that I’m trying to save any parts that I can from the original.
Boat trailer, that is...
