I like the 4-rpong, as it shows more of the diamond, and I love the more delicate, tapered cathedral engagement ring (That's my setting.); it looks like a partial basket was part of the design where the band tapers up to the diamond.
Hi Bonnie, non tulip for me, for sure. The six prong definitely looks more round, it’s not your imagination. Although I love bigger stones, I would have to say there is nothing more classic than a high quality solitaire. I could see the quality and sparkle in these two rings you featured in this video when you showed your hands by your side. Three to three and a half carats is such a nice size, also.
I've recently fell in love with the 6 prong because of your channel. It does make the diamond look more round and slightly bigger, but I like it because it's different and seems like it is sturdier than the 4 prong. I'm going with a 2.7 ct center stone and I was hoping the band would sit flush, so this video really helped me out. Thanks Bonnie!
Absolutely agree! I thought I would like 4 prongs, but I prefer 6 prongs. It feels like it enhances the round diamond shape. I feel like the 4 prong kinda makes the round diamond look a bit squarish.
My preference has always been a 6 prong vs 4 prong for a round brilliant diamond . I feel just like you , it makes it look more like a full round diamond as opposed to looking like a possible cushion cut diamond ! 6 prongs sparkles less ??? 😂😂😂 that has got to be the newest myth I’ve heard by far ! It all comes down to personal preference I think ! I have a larger diamond and I was not willing to opt for a cathedral setting , my eyes were always drawn to a non cathedral setting . Because of my choice , I will never be able to have a wedding band sit completely flush with my engagement ring but I prefer the space and it’s what worked for me ! Thanks for always sharing such great videos and beautiful diamond rings with us ! 🥰🥰
6 prongs definitely visually round out the stone as they create more balance, but i really love 4 prongs, as long as they are positioned on the 12, 3, 6, and 9 o’clock points, creating a cross - that, to me, makes it look soo sophisticated and classy *chef’s kiss* and if the prongs are super pointy and sharp, that is just orgasmic 😆 what are your thoughts on 5 prongs? Not very common nowadays, more of a vintagey thing, but i’ve been kinda liking them lately.
Thank you for this video on cathedral settings! Cathedral is a MUST for me but I’m not sold on tapered… it’s not as visually pleasing to me for some reason compared to non-tapered.
White gold may become a bit yellowish over time as the rhodium plating wears off. (It can be plated again though). Whereas the platinum will remain white. Also platinum is harder and more durable. On the other hand white gold is less expensive.
I would LOVE to see an adaptation of the 4 prong cathedral in platinum for a 3 stone cathedral ring --. I love the open V side profile of the 4 prong style. 1.5-2 ct center and 0.75-1.25 ct each side stone. 💖🤩
I like 6 prongs if I must choose. But I really prefer bezel setting. I find a lot of prongs detract from the stone. Although your prongs are very small which I like.
My ring is cathedral and I love the height. When I get married I plan on wearing a set of eternity rings on each side. I like the tulip and a thick band
I don't like round or oval stones in 4 prongs as it is not aesthetically pleasing , is like a circle in a square. I prefer prongs distributed evenly around the stone or bezel or tension settings.
I always had 6 prongs on a round diamond. This time I went with four prongs on my 3 carat stone. I’m thrilled. It doesn’t hide as much of the stone. The mounting needs to be substantial though, nice, solid prongs nothing too “delicate…..petite”.
2.8 carats what size band the ring i should get i kinda like thicker band ring because it help hold more sturdy so if i get 3mm is ok for it please give me suggestions thanks Bonnie 😊
Absolutely! A thicker band not only adds to the sturdiness and durability of the ring but also contributes to its grand and luxurious appearance. It provides a sense of presence and elegance, making the ring stand out beautifully on the finger.😍🫶
I know they are both round but the 6 prong really makes it look round without having to take a second look. The 4 prong almost looks like a cushion if you aren’t paying attention.

sis why do i see your diamonds all are fake? Consider the chemical and phisical charaters, this is no where like a diamond not even a lab one! How much do you pay for it?

The 6-prone makes the diamond look bigger! They both look nice! 👍
i have a round stone with 6 small prongs.i love how classic it looks.

I’m on team six prong! It makes the diamond look rounder and larger!!!

The 6 prong tulip is STUNNING and yes, it makes the round cut stone appear bigger.
Absolutely agree! I thought I would like 4 prongs, but I prefer 6 prongs. It feels like it enhances the round diamond shape. I feel like the 4 prong kinda makes the round diamond look a bit squarish.
Soooooo stunning. I love this one 😍😍😍
I ♡︎ the 6 prong tulip

love to see a half bevel band 😶🌫
great video as always Bonnie!
I love the look of the six prong, but prefer the thinner band. 😍
I love 4 prongs! ❤️
I love a 6 prong but with out the tulip 😍
Can you do a video on platinum vs white gold? What are the pros and cons of each for an engagement ring/wedding band?
White gold may become a bit yellowish over time as the rhodium plating wears off. (It can be plated again though). Whereas the platinum will remain white. Also platinum is harder and more durable. On the other hand white gold is less expensive.
@pinkroses thank you for your input! It was very interesting! :)
6 alllll day!
That's beautiful
I have the classic 3 carat round with 4 prong. I love my ring so much
STUNNING 😍

I like the wider band and six prongs
Much prefer the tulip gallery. Much prettier. Plus love the thicker band.
Hi Bonnie, do you have a four prong tulip for round diamonds?
For rounds I’m a 6 prong girl! ✨
Hi Bonnie! Is the 4 prong band 2.2 mm all around? You mentioned that it tapers and I was curious if the width or thickness tapers and to how many mm?
6 prong girl right here ❤️❤️❤️
I like 6 prongs if I must choose. But I really prefer bezel setting. I find a lot of prongs detract from the stone. Although your prongs are very small which I like.
Your stud earrings are beautiful! Please can you give more info on them? 😍
I prefer the 4 prong, can you send it to me please? All kidding aside, I love your channel, you videos are very informative. ❤️
I was gonna change to 6 prongs but the Sale person said she recommended 4 prongs for 2.5 so I'm not sure now. I need more opinions please.
My ring is cathedral and I love the height. When I get married I plan on wearing a set of eternity rings on each side. I like the tulip and a thick band

Is the 4 prong less secure than 6 prong? Guess that is my concern about less prongs.
I own the six prong ring just upgraded to a 6 carat
Beautiful!
2.8 carats what size band the ring i should get i kinda like thicker band ring because it help hold more sturdy so if i get 3mm is ok for it please give me suggestions thanks Bonnie 😊
A 3mm bandwidth would definitely be sturdy enough to support your center stone! -Team By Bonnie 💎
I need 4 kart with gold color ring
100% the 6prong tulip
Hi Bonnie, do you work with champagne diamonds at all? Love your videos!! ❤️
❤❤❤ 6 prongs
The thicker band not only secures it’s sturdiness but also gives it a grandeur look.

6 prong, and thicker.

Go with the 6 prong. Diamond will fall out of a 4 prong.
