If anyone ever needed proof of a god. Look no further than dogs or pups, especially in my opinion German Shepherd dogs. What a gift from god. The ultimate friend and companion. Of course, men are great. I love them too. But dogs don't complain if you haven't shaved your shins.
I believe it's extremely important to give German Shepherd puppies extra food supplements especially the 1st year and even into their whole life! We feed a high quality kibble, of course, but we also feed them chopped up beef necks and bone. I just started these puppies today on chopped up beef necks and bone. I chop it all up into small chunks, Its so important they get plenty of calcium. So with our GSD puppies, once they're weaned from momma, we feed them kibble everyday, twice a day. I like them to have raw meat and bone, at least once a week, lots of milk and vegetables! I mix in blueberries for my older GSD's, as its a powerful anti-oxidant/anti-inflammatory. I'm a retired veteran medic/EMT-paramedic and medical specialist and I do all my own vetting with almost everything. Shots, worming and take care of most wound emergencies should they arise! pOf course, prevention is key to a dogs safety. I worm at 4-6-8-12 weeks. 1-3cc in a syringe for each pup, depending on their body weight. They have to have at least 3 series of the 9 in 1 parvo shots/vaccination before the spring starts. We get our 9 in 1 canine vaccination at Atwoods Farm Store or Tractor Supply. I spray around my house and yards for insects in early spring to keep fleas and ticks away from the dogs and their yards. They have a very large yard to play in and we spend a lot of time with our GSD's. We give them a lot of love and attention . The whole family does. They get complete bubble baths, ears cleaned and grooming once a month in the summer. They are our family members to us, can't imagine not having them in our lives. But yes as far as your question a high protein and calcium diet for sure.
