Today is the start of an epic journey around Turkey on the 11 day Anzac tour with Travel Talk Tours (linked below), we'll make about 7 travel vlogs and be sharing the whole experience, beyond just Cappadocia, which is interestingly called Kapadokya by the locals.
In this vlog we start our tour and go from Istanbul to Cappadocia by bus for 12 hours, seeing loads of the Turkey countryside and even travel through snow. Although Istanbul has lots to offer, we'll be sharing a vlog or two from there at the back of the Travel Talk Tour.
Cappadocia is one of the most popular places in Turkey and has been on our bucket list for some time now, mostly because of the hot air ballooning that's famous in the area. It's a crazy landscape that has to be seen to be believed, so check back for our next vlog as we explore Cappadocia in the snow!

You need a car man. We were on a tour but there's no real hub or area you'd just wander - you need to drive to spots

I went to Cappadocia around 15 years ago, when it wasn't as popular as now. I would like to go back 😊😊 but not when it is cold 😜😜😜

Since you are in that region in the winter, if you are into films, I recommend watching Winter Sleep. One of the best movies from Turkey. It is a Palme d'Or winner and it is very good.
Woah, I was just about to suggest the exact same thing, how great is that! Seeing Cappadocia in winter time just automatically reminds me of that movie.

Lucky we got to do the balloon ride a few days later! Yup, we were in Gallipoli for Anzac - it was special!

We stood there for like 5 minutes waiting for something to land on Staces glove.. and it was only the most perfect star shaped snow flake ever!

In what month did you go there. We are planning our trip from beggining to mid of march next year and we will be probably in Cappadocia in 2nd week of march. I don't know we could be able to do hot air Ballon in that weather.

This was in April - but keep in mind we were shocked (as were the locals) because it's not supposed to be snowing. It was a random chill that came through.

Theres no perfect answer, we went in summer and it snowed, the locals were shocked... this was May from memory and other than those few days the weather was great

It's a common misconception about Turkey. Actually in some regions it snows a few metres deep and village roads get blocked for weeks

Looks cold. Didnt think it snowed in Turkey. Always imagined it to be hot & dry. But wow! The scenery & some of those old buildings are amazing!
