You should pick up the 2014 D&D Starter set (it has a green dragon on the cover). You might have to ebay it. You can combine the adventure in it (Lost Mine of Phandelver) with the adventure in the 2019 D&D Essentials Kit (Dragon of Icespire Peak) since they both take place in the same town (Phandalin). Additionally, you can expand the adventure by getting 'Storm Lord's Wrath', 'Sleeping Dragon's Wake', and 'Divine Connection' from D&D Beyond. This lets you play a campaign from 1st level to I believe 12th level.

Thank you ☺️. I am familiar with the 2014 starter set. I would love to get a physical copy of it. I’m not familiar with Storm Lords Wrath, Sleeping dragons wake or Divine connection but I will look into them on D&D beyond so thank you. I’m looking forward to running Dragon of Icespire Peak. Once I finish Dragon Heist I May run that next. I will also check eBay for the 2014 starter set.

In my 5E collection, I have gotten the 2014 Starter Set, the Essentials Kit, the Dungeon Master's Screen Wilderness Kit (which makes a wicked combination with the Essentials Kit for extra game table goodies), and the Dragons of Stormwreck Isle Set. 🥰

Thank you ☺️!!! I have the DM screen that comes with the core set which is pretty cool since red is one of my top colors ☺️. I would like to get the wilderness one. I just got another one and lol it just says Dungeon kit but looks pretty cool. Eventually I would love to get one custom made 😃😎 or make it myself.
I hope I can get my hands on the strangers things box set without paying an arm and a leg for it 🥴.

Me personally, I prefer the essential kit, because you can merge the adventures to The Mines of Phandelver which is free at D&D Beyond 😄 Nice video!!!

I have not tried the lastest starteset by The Mines of Phandelver is a nice adventure, well worth getting and combinding with (Essentials kit easily) :)

Id agree in getting both the starter set and essentials kit. The essentials kit is criticized for being easy to cause a tpk if you're not careful and it requires more attention due to no linearity. The starter set opts for pregrenerated characters and not every gm likes to do linear. Both cover each other's weaknesses.
Personally id swap stormwreck isle for the old 2014 starter set which is lost mine of phandelver and its set in the same area as the essentials kir but considering phandelver and below exists i understand if the 2014 starter set is rather redundant by this time.

The Essentials kit is what think is better. I gifted it to my nephew a few years back - now he runs a D&D club at school.
