Love the video ❤
Damn these companies owe you a kick back bought Ker Nethalas Loner2e and Alone Against Fear thanx for these great game reviews
Looking forward to seeing where this crew goes.
Im so glad to see you doing more than just talking about solo play but really doing it from square one! I've been considering GMing with Cairn 2e and seeing you makes things feel so much more approachable. Love the energy and vibe too - great job!
Love the video and the game looks awesome
Thank you ☺️
This is an old video but im in the UK and iv'e found an essentials kit and 2014 starter set for 23Pounds!(29$) im a new player and i think this will be perfect or me.
Thank you so much for taking time to watch ☺️. I hope you have an awesome time with the Essentials kit!!!!!
Nice character sheet design. Did you use Canva? I remember you mentioning the app before. Great video and btw, Mrs Coach is always stealing the show. You both make a great couple.
What I really appreciate about this video is the process of makeing characters. It shows people the investment of time and the reward of being creative in RPGs. Great stuff. I started my first solo D&D campaign today and part of me doing that was being inspired by your content so thank you.
Wow I love the idea you had for dropping dice and using it as a layout for like a point crawl. Thats really neat! I am absolutely using it, ty for that.
Thank you ☺️. I grabbed the idea from playing Four Against Darkness.
Great stuff here thanx 👍👍
Thank you and thanks for watching 😃!!!!
Just discovered your channel, and am loving the content.
Thank you so much ☺️ and thank you for watching!!!!!!
Such a fan of running two-parter modules and then personally inviting some of those players to a longer campaign
I like that 😃. That’s what I’m learning to do. Making a list of lol my favorite players!!!!
Got recommended your channel a week ago off of watching lots of GM channels. Really like your enthusiasm! Most channels are by veteran GMs, so it's nice to hear from a new GM. Also I can see your video planning and editing improving with those transitions! I'll check out those books!
If you have the pdf of a book you can print out the table pages separately. Currently I'm pulling pages from all the books I like and combining them into one pdf. The plan is to print it on Lulu and just have one big book of random generators.
I highly recommend Ironsworn and its offshoots for solo gaming. It was designed with that in mind, and the momentum mechanic in particular is genius. I'm still mixed on solo gaming, but I still love Ironsworn.
My fantasy world for a potential campaign is based on Irish and Indonesian culture. South East Asia is extremely culturally and geographically rich, and you rarely see it depicted in the media. Indonesian culture has really strong aesthetics.
Thank you ☺️!!!!
That is a really great idea 💡!!!! Thank you ☺️.
I really appreciate this video and the "new DM/GM" perspective. I just sated my first campaign a few weeks ago and I'm running two groups ;^; I often get worried that I was too ambitious, but my players have definitely helped me along the way and have reassured me that I'm doing good.
Thank you for watching ☺️. I’m happy to hear you’re doing great with your campaigns!!!! Congrats 🎉🍾🎊 on getting started which is a big step!!!
Just ran my first opener for my kid last night using Cairn. He had as many jitters as I did because he had never played. Role playing was something I helped walk him into. In the end, it ran about the way I hoped. He said he had fun. We didn't get far, but it's a start. Ultimately, if he was being honest about the experience, I feel like we can continue to grow in our respective roles together and become better gamers.
That’s a really cool 😎 experience!!!! Cairn is a great system especially for new comers and kids!!!!!
Awesome stuff as always! 🥰
Thank you friend ☺️☺️☺️☺️!!!!!!!!!
I'm a veteran GM of 30+ years and I am always excited to hear about new GM's and their experiences. Thank You for sharing. 😊
Excellent advice. Still have jitters after 44 years, but as with stage actors, they go away when the show starts. After the game, I can barely sleep because I'm too hyped! I call it the GM rush. The next morning I take notes of new ideas that came at night.
Looking forward to playing Dragonbane with you soon. Really enjoyed the friendly session 0.
8:05 my rule with world building is a question "does it serve the game?" If it doesn't get it. awesome use of the imagination.
This is a brilliant topic for a video....As someone who has been DMing and playing for 30ish years. All of this is really solid advice.
Heck yeah! Thanks for sharing! Nothing to it but to do it is honestly profound. It's always good seeing you out there spreading the fun and the joy! ✨
Thank you very much for this video. I am considering jumping into the Four Against Darkness world, and I found this video very very helpful. Here's a comment for the algorithm 😂
This channel is so so awesome...Your video on solo RPGs was so useful and introducing me to this game.
Wow thank you so much ☺️ and thank you so much for your support!!!!!! What are you playing at the moment?
@LegendsDiceCafe literally about to start a 5th Edtion D&D solo campaign based in the Realm if the 80s D&D cartoon.
Cairn is fantastic
It is 😃!!!!!
Coins and Scrolls and Goblin Punch are blogs that come up with mechanisms or other observations, although they might have games that use those mechanics too. Great to see you cover this, it's one of the most elegant rulesets I've seen.
Thank you so much for the info and thank you for watching 😃😃!!!!!
Thanks for this! My wife wants to play as “Critters” like on our board game Everdell 😅 I think I’ll use this as the system!
Thank you for watching 😃!!! I’m sure you and your wife will have an awesome time!!!!
I'll start a new campaign of mausritter tomorrow for my friends that never played rpgs before
How was your game?
@@LegendsDiceCafe A bit clunky at first - since they were new to RPGs, they were still stiff and wanted to roll dice for every little step their mouse took. But overall, it worked out. Since there were only three players, I added two hirelings to the party, and that turned out to be a good call. They’re already asking to schedule the next session, so I guess it went well!
@LuizPaiva2077 that’s awesome!!!!! And they are already asking about the next session so it was definitely a successful session!!!! Great job 👏🏾!!!!!!!!
Thank you for the review. Looking for the Five Parsecs video! I am not familiar with the OSR term....what does it mean? Another mouse-centric roleplaying experience that just came out was Squeaks in the Deep (for Pugmire and Monarchies of Mau).
Nice review. I wonder why rodents are so popular as main characters in anthropomorphic RPGs? Other games in the mouse ttrpg rpg scene include Mouseguard, Things that Go Squeak in the Night and Michtim (hamsters). I have a game called Ironclaw which lets you play all kinds of animals in a fantasy setting. It another game I couldn’t find people to play with.😢
Mice have little cute hands and looks like little cute people, maybe that's why
I can understand that. & you have players already waiting for you to start your campaign back up. Brandon was just asking the other week what happened to your game. So you’ve definitely got some people to play Ironclaw with when you are ready to run it.
Thank you very much for this video, I will recommend as a general overview. I have added it to the Ganesha Games channel.
Thank you for taking the time out to watch and for sharing 😃!!!!!!
hahaha that was fun to watch xD RAWR
Thank you so much!! Rawr! 😊 -Mrs. Coach 🔑🎲
I am not into lots of rules for games. Take for example: I have been running 2014 D&D with just the PHB, the DM's section that was free online (which for a while was just magic items & monsters lol). I tried reading the 2014 DMG, but lost interest real quick. This DMG sounds different, and I might need to read in total. So far, I have been going through the free stuff on DnD Beyond since I have no extra cash, and I need to be familiar with these new rules before January when I start running for a library teen club (I run for the tweens club, but it's Shadowdark... and yes, I highly recommend Shadowdark). BTW, I love your little promotion of Dragonbane part way through this video. Thank you again, and keep being awesome!
I absolutely understand your take. Thank you for supporting, watching, and your super awesome compliment 😃!!!!!
awesome as always, its cool to see coop play in action, definetly a rarity on youtube.
It really is! Thank you so much for watching! -Mrs. Coach🔑🎲
Like both books too! The Greyhawk map is really great. I haven't used the new rules in a game yet.
That’s awesome 😎. I plan on using the new rules in my upcoming campaign. It starts next Friday 😃. I’m currently reading thru the Greyhawk setting and it’s definitely helping me add more things to my homebrew world which is super cool. I would like to get the mapped framed 😁 so I can put it up in my office.
Are you going to get the new Zelda? It looks so cute!
Yes I am. I was debating on picking it up today 😃.
@ yay! If you get it you need to play it on here!
I absolutely will ☺️!!!!
I love how both books are laid out and all the information that has been reorganised and/or added to both of them. 🥰 All of the artwork is fantastic and I love that artwork was included for all of the weapons and other items characters/DMs might use. Definitely beats having to search online for each of the ones that I was not familiar with! All of the games that I am currently in are using the 2014 rules, but I am really looking forward to tucking into a 2024 rules campaign. 🥰
I’m prepping to run my first game using 2024 rules ☺️. I absolutely 💯 agree with all you said. I was thinking the same with picture of the weapons and armor. It helps someone like me out lol that may not know what everything looks like.
@@LegendsDiceCafe Some of the items I had a decent idea of how they looked, but a few definitely required a Google search with the 2014 PHB! 😯 Looking forward to hearing how the 2024 rules game goes! 🥰
Great video! 🎉
Thank you so much ☺️!!!!
You guys are hilarious. Love it!
Thank you ☺️!!!
I always enjoy your videos; I love the love you bring to the games you're discovering 🙂
Wow thank you so much for such an awesome compliment ☺️☺️!!!!!
Great video as always, great to hear your views on the new books :D In our Dolmenwood campaign which uses old school essentials we have rotating GMs it's good fun, and allows the people that want to ref the opportunity to do so without haveing a dozen campaigns running where you only get a few weeks a year in each :D
Thank you friend ☺️. I really appreciate it. I absolutely love the multiple GM ideas 💡.
Nice page through of the books. The fact that they are heavy is a plus for me. I know they say quality over quantity but knowing there a lot of content makes me more comfortable spending money on these books. I like the layout of the new rules and it looks like .they’ll be easier to read and understand. Thanks for providing this quick glimpse into the new rulebooks
