  • We're often asked by customers how much room is required for them to take delivery of a 40' storage container. We made this video to show you how a typical delivery goes. This one was easy, however they are quite often much more difficult as there is less room to navigate.

My wife ordered a 40'er. from a different company Their web site said they could set it anywhere. We had 75' straight and 150' slightly off straight. I was hoping for a pickup with trailer, but they showed up with a stretched tractor and 53' trailer. We managed to drop it, but since he had to drop it off crooked, the front is off about 1' from where it should be. Guess I am going to have to hook a tractor to it and try sliding it sideways before we get it filled.

Also it's to be able to pick it up with a fork lift.

Do you strap it down with any chains on the back of the trailer? Or just straps over the top?

We use 4 x 4" webbing straps only. There are ratchets welded to the trailer.

    Why do you need timbers?

You technically don't need timbers. Timbers merely raise the container off the ground so it is not making ground contact which should make it last longer. Also, critters shouldn't make their homes under the container if it's off the ground.

KarasCyborg It's also a lot easier to pick up the container if it isn't frozen to the ground. They have a tendency to do that especially here in Finland with the temperature ranging from +5c to -25c during the winter..

Is their a pivot joint on the tongue of the gooseneck?
If not then that looks like a lot of stress to the ball and the tongue when it's pivot of with a load.
I'm also looking forward to buy such trailer and would appreciate the response.
    Safe travels!

The trailer is designed to take the load. The trailer coupler just pivots on the ball.

    How about a 20?

We mainly use a ramp truck for 20's but we also have a similar trailer that we use sometimes for deliveries that are more than a couple hundred miles away if the customer can accept the pickup and trailer. That setup requires roughly 85'.
