It looks really good inside the container, and also looked like a lot of hard work to insulate it too. But great job and can't wait to see what else you intend to do inside of the container.
Not sure if anyone has already mentioned, but a thought is to install the insulation on the external with an external clad etc Finnish. Although it would increase the width slightly 🤔
😄 An amazing install video....Thank-you you made it look easy. We agree it is a lot of hard work to insulate a shipping container by yourself. Your confident foam fabrication skills really shine here.
Can I ask how this has held up? Anything you would’ve done differently? Do you recommend? I have a 20 foot container coming in the next couple weeks and I’m thinking of following your videos to a T

Makes more sense in savings. It's insulated between metals anyway. Unless not paying mind the interior visual sections. Would save least couple thousand bucks and 4-5" space area thickness. Exterior would have to be asthetically appealing.
Excellent job, the hard work is going to pay off, after having loaded/unloaded my fair share of those in the summer sun i know how much of an oven those things can become, that insulation is going to pay dividends, cool stuff.. :)

Hello, thank you very much for the video and sharing your experience, I would like to know where you bought those insulation panels, if it was in a store, the Internet or someone specific. Good job 👍
I just got my containers delivered from Wuwi Shipping Container yesterday. I am planning to make a two-story container house i thought it would be expensive and surprisingly Wuwi Shipping Container sells cheap containers i got my 40ft Container for 1800 each and i even paid it upon delivery. I am from Texas by the way.
Insofast kits cost quite a bit more than the container itself. Pretty slick, otherwise. If your container is in anything resembling a warm climate they really need to be shaded in the summer. Sun on steel makes for a virtual oven. Shade will be more effective than any insulation.
I took engineering back in the 70s and this is what our professor said. You don't want something hot don't heat it it took me a while to get the concept. Thank you
The problem is going to be simple. Insulating the interior of cold steel will be condensation trapped in between the steel wall and the interior. Tha better solution surely is to insulate the exterior.
what a greatjob u made this look very simple and the only question i have is how you mount the drywall, im curious over time how that plastic holds the screws for the drywall. either way brother you living my dream bravo!!
Why did you use a different panel on the sides then you did for the back wall? The back you used those rectangle pieces to fill the space then the panels.
Wuau thanks for the video, the first one I saw that explains the clear steps to start building a house container. I have a question: if I join two containers (30feet + 20feet), is it possible in the future to transport/ñ by a track if I wanna move? Thanks 🙏
I know nothing, but I have questions : 1. dont you have to put up some kind of waterproof/humidity/condensation (=mold)/ anti rust barrier before the insulation ? I mean, what happens when it rains ? 2. does the foam insulation come corrugated like that to fit containers ? or you had to cut the waves yourself ? 3. how do you keep the container from rusting away as you live in it ?
@@Profitaenzer rust is not the issue. condensation is that issue, and regardless of whether the corten steel withstands it, the condensation will pool, ultimately soaking floors, subfloors, etc. there DOES need to be some sort of vapor barrier.
Corten steel is designed to develop a protective coat of rust. In theory, it will last a long time with that coat of rust. It will last longer, however, if it is entirely cleaned and scraped free of rust and then coated with a paint or coating designed specifically preserve corten steel.
2:47 I would have thought those grooves can be modified to let you bury electrical or other cables/pipes or whatnot. Or do you intend to have everything outside of the drywalls?
This will be my solution. Water and electrical in conduit along the baseboards. Easy access, yet out of the way, and you do not lose any insulation value. (I currently plan on using expanding spray in closed cell insulation)
Would be good to have some natural light, by adding a skylight window, on the top of the container?! Good job with the isolation. looking forward to see you shaping there!
What is the advantage of Insofast insulation over closed cell expanding foam insulation? (proposing that your studs (metal) were welded in prior) Looking at the Insofast site, it cannot be price?
hola tengo un local de contenedores que ya esta revestido por dentro, lo puedo revestir por fuera con EPS? con que lo puedo pegar sobre la chapa? puede ser con poliuretano expandido? gracias
Hi Bendo. From where do i get these insolation panels with the shape of the inner walls of a container? As I'm living in Europe, can I get them over here as well? Cheers mate.
Man, you have the patience of a saint!
Thats an awesome kit! Those are similar to the plastic studs built into ICF blocks. Very cool feature.
What a great idea for a walk in frig or freezer...
I like how you show everything every step. thx
Надо же! В каких то странах даже специальный пенопласт изготовляют для утепления морских контейнеров.😊
This is gonna be the best workshop ever! I wish I had a space like that only for shaping.
I always struggle with hot coats in winter because my shed gets very cold, and the epoxy starts to do weird things.
@Dzjiefoils where can you buy the foam products
@@davidhuff1068 I don’t know. I think you have to ask Tanner.
Awesome Bendo. Love seeing each stage of the bay coming along!!

My comment window isn't showing up. I would like to know where to find this insulation. Probably difficult with used containers.

Good insulation kit there, it does make the inside measurements smaller, for me I would put insulation on the outside leaving more room on the inside.

Nice work, looks like InSoFast is a great product but concern on built up condensation and their price point is absurd!
I went to their website & it looks like dealing with condensation is their biggest selling point. Pricey yeah.
awesome bendheim! thankyou for your work

Love your video, can you please tell me what is that white foam that you spray over the insulation panels?
I did not read all the comments. Great product. One question, if someone wanted to sheetrock the walls and roof how would that be done?
all the videos went goosebumps because of the foam

I am still concerned about condensation in the miniscule gaps between the panels and the painted steel walls. Will this be a problem?
Same here...
Insofast is (being installed properly, of course) air-tight, and so no condensation to be occur.
I can’t imagine that being an issue after insulation.
Insofast kits cost quite a bit more than the container itself. Pretty slick, otherwise. If your container is in anything resembling a warm climate they really need to be shaded in the summer. Sun on steel makes for a virtual oven. Shade will be more effective than any insulation.

1.) he should 😁 2.) Insofast 3.) Containers are made from corton steel to protect from salty sea water, rost will be not an issue.

have you used Prodex on a shipping container or any other build to give pros and cons between Prodex and in-so-fast. thanks
What's the r value on this type of insulation? And is there a need for a vapor barrier also?
How much does it cost for the insulation?

That's cool. I want to make it like this. Where did you buy the Streepom
My question is how many nights did it take?
Let‘s see how long it takes until the first self-proclaimed expert on container workshops starts lecturing you about vapor barriers.
OK, I'm a month late, but I'm here.
Why doesn't he need a vapor barrier? Is it because the insulation fits perfectly to the steel walls?
You won't and you didn't even realize it.
I'm here, same question.I think that the direct contact to the metal is not enough...
This will just away in 5 years
Lol
Wow
So many ppl want to live in an Esky
Man I wish I knew these existed when I did mine… I went the spray foam route… 😂
you went the right route , these foam panels are not vacuumed air tight to the metal. Water will be trapped and rust and mold will occur
Do you have before and after what degrees temperature are now in the shipping container 😜🤪🤪
Topzera
After the insulation how's the temperature 🌡️🤒 like during summer 🌞⛱️?
Please I would also love to know thanks in advance
