Cause right now he’s not elite in anything and at 6’2 he’s going to need something to fall back on as “his card” (Steph’s shooting, Kyrie dribbling ability, jrues defense)

The thing people don't understand is that Bronny has had people marketing him since he was 12, and adults on the internet critiquing and viewing him for years now, through it all he's handled him self well enough to now capitilise on that opportunity when he's an adult with an increase in draft stock due to marketing, and now people want to judge him for nepotism. IMO he seems like a great 2nd round pick opportunity, and I think having to have media follow you everywhere you play since 12, warrants an increase in draft stock in comparison to other 2nd round picks.

Someone out there has worked their entire life to go pro in the NBA. Maybe they’re from a small town in the south, no indoor courts within 30 miles, and they practiced everyday to make a local low level competitive league adjacent to high school. Then they got better, grew to a solid playing height, and eventually played a full four years in college with good, but not superstar stats. This was a D1 school but they didn’t make the tournament. This person is hoping to get drafted somewhere in the second round so they can prove themselves one more time and make it to the pinnacle courts in the sport.

Well with the NFL you have to go all-in on a year-to-year basis when you get the chance, but yeah, what's lost in a lot of this is that LBJ is 40. It would be one thing if he were 10 years younger and the Lakers were looking to get another 5-6 top years out of him and trying to keep him around . I mean they weren't going to get much in this draft anyway, let alone in the second round, but besides all that it's not like they can trade the kid with other assets to get something better. They're stuck with him as long as LBJ is around. It's a move that gives nothing back -- even keeping LeBron happy and around is sort of pointless these days when you need a major rebuild.

The problem isn't drafting Bronny. The problem is the lack of any commitment on the Lakers front office to make the team worthy of the attention they are getting every single day by living up to their stated mission: Championships. Seven head coaches since Phil Jackson. A GM who got his job because he was Kobe's agent. A new head coach with zero coaching experience at any level. Roster decisions which make no sense. Bronny is but a symptom of a bigger disease.

Agree with all points, but also, Chris is definitely right about the JJ Redick questioning. Hate to say it, but its true
