      @ANURAG MANDAL LHC and the ISS are two different beasts. Both are exactly why humanity has the potential for so much more!

      I love your spirit. For me, on a personal note, I feel like comparing the ISS to the LHC is like comparing an NMR to FTIR. Both things are great but just different. But I get you, the technology and understanding required to have an ISS is just incredible.
      Although I imagine one day that the ISS will be seen to be as advanced as the Model T Ford and people of modest means may have the opportunity to go into orbit...I wish I could live in that time if this was the will be the case.

    Just imagine being stuck up there after a nuclear war back on Earth. It's like a little heaven: border disputes, violence and power struggles don't exist up there. Seeing Americans and Russians cooperate without problems like they do in the ISS is weird.

      I guessing no inner layers were considered for extra hiding space for cables.. perhaps the outer layer of the spacestation, is all about protection. So its the number 1 priority when it comes to the skeleton. Also, seeing cables, might be better for fixing any problem, instead of searching for it, when in such oblivious terrain ..

Was this footage shot with a new camera or one that has been on the ISS for some time? That goes to show how susceptible to high energy particles you are above the atmosphere.

      Probably more stable due to the amount of time it's been out versus new operating systems, it will also be less demanding on the PC to run which probably isn't as powerful as we imagine for just running simple data sets etc. Just my guess :)

    • @AndrewSmoot
      @AndrewSmoot 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Three years later, up there, your frame of reference changes depending upon body orientation; and, you don't have any feedback from your vestibular system in your inner ear to tell your brain that you're upside down. As for the computers running outdated operating systems, the experiments that all of the different organizations are running on the ISS, probably, don't need the latest and greatest systems to be able to do what they need to do; after all, they don't really have a lot of time for hardcore gaming up there.
