Great information 👍 👌 so if the person that hit me turning with no signal the old man that hit me had dementia and had been in previous accidents he got a ticket and admitted he was at fault is that good for my case I had whiplash and concussion and back pain went through therapy 4 months?
He's right, you don't want to be that person due to someone else that has life changing injuries, broken neck, femur, shoulder, head & partial paralysis with pain for the rest of your life where you can only stand for minutes at a time, it makes you realize all the money in the world won't make you whole.

I was very fortunate because my car accident happened in Phoenix Arizona so I got a comfortable settlement. My body was destroyed and I suffered a catastrophic brain injury. I was in a coma for three months But I came back to Canada and took advantage of the free healthcare, also I got a small settlement from my Canadian insurance. It is 18 years later fortunately I have made almost a full recovery

In at least one Florida injury claim, I had a Canadian “health insurer” make a demand to get paid back from the personal injury settlement against the wrongdoer.

@@RealJustinZiegler honestly I don't know how long I was in Arizona. They flew me in a Learjet to Toronto sick kids hospital. I don't know how long I was in a comabut I definitely was paralyzed for a long time.

My response applies to accidents in Florida, which is where I am licensed.
Under Florida law, an insurance company has a duty to settle a case if it could and should in order to protect its insured from owing any money above their insured’s bodily injury liability (BIL) limits.
Here is a real example of how this law may cause an insurance company to pay the injured person quicker. I settled the case. Thus, I am familiar with the facts.
A car hit a pedestrian in Coconut Grove, Miami-Dade County, Florida. The pedestrian had a hospital bill that was over $100,000. He fractured his leg. He had surgery to fix it.
The at fault driver was in a rental car. It had $100,000 of rental car bodily injury liability (BIL) insurance with Philadelphia Insurance Company. The pedestrian’s case was worth much more than the available $100,000 in BIL coverage.
Philadelphia had two choices. The first choice was to pay me the $100K limits and settle the BIL case. If it did this, it didn't have to worry about me taking the case to trial and getting a verdict for more than the $100K limits.
The second choice was to let me take the case to trial. This would have likely resulted in a verdict of at least $200K. This would've left the driver owing $100K out of his pocket. The driver could have then sued Philadelphia for failing to settle when it could and should have. Then, Philadelphia would've owed at least $100K more than the policy limit.
In this case, Philadelphia paid me the $100K limits. It chose option 1.
The good news?
I was able to get another $225K in compensation from other parties.
Note: There is a time limit so sue. If you miss your time limit, you lose your right to sue. If you don’t have a lawyer, you should speak with one.
My bill was $2.2 Million.
I had several Dr's appointments after I got out of the hospital.
I had 6 surgeries. 2 broken vertebrae, a broken right hip, a broken left foot, a concussion, my appendix removed, they ended up shortenening my small intestines, they ended up shortenening my large intestines. Spent 54 days in the hospital. Had a blood clot filter installed in my andomen.
10 inch scar from surgery. I was left open on the table to evaluate drainage in my abdomen for 4 days. Had 8 drain ports put in to do that. Feeding tube installed. Had to learn how to walk again....
Missed 8.5 months if work. (Roughly $30K in missed wages.)
A guy ran a stop sign and hit us head on in S.C.

In my husband’s accident, the semi driver was 100% at fault, our car was totaled, husband spent over three months in the hospital, medical bills seven figures, totally disabled-unable to work again-you get the picture. Yes, we will probably receive a big payout, but it’s not worth what he went through. Some have said to me, But you’ll be rich! No, there’s more to life than money. I wish we could turn back the clock.

I was injured by an ambulance not on emergency call (no sirens or lights) and drove straight in a left turn only lane and I was in the lane to the right and I could turn left or go straight. When I was turning left with my blinker on and staying in my lane. The distracted ambulance driver ended up t boning me. Do ambulances/healthcare systems have good insurance coverage?

Hello JZ, I got a concussion in a car accident and it was the other drivers fault now I suffer from post concussion syndrome so who knows if I will ever be myself also my vehicle was totaled and i didnt have rental im married 39 yrs old with 2 boys 3 & 9 I was very active but now I dont want to do anything anymore do you think my settlement will be substantial. I have a case going on right now and the other driver has been found 100% at fault. My question is if a doctor has already said my prolapse bladder was caused by the accident and I have had surgery as well as will never be able to lift more then 25lbs and have a high chance of reoccurrence even with physical thearapy would I be able to get a good settlement my attorney just keeps telling me she's putting together the demand but will not tell me what she is demanding and when I ask she says she will let me know. It's been 7 months

For those who don't know, a prolapsed bladder is a bulge of the bladder into the vagina. It's also called a bladder hernia.
That said, you seem to have the two of the big factors that make a good case.
One is that you've told me that the other driver is 100% at fault. The other good fact is that your doctor said that the accident caused your injury.
It will be interesting to see if the defense doctor agrees that the accident caused your prolapsed bladder.
Also, I don't know if the responsible parties are collectible or have liability insurance. (Without a collectible source, even good cases might not lead to a good settlement.) I hope that there is enough insurance to pay for your injury.
While you've given me some information, your attorney has a much better idea of your case than I do. He or she knows all of the particulars. An attorney cannot fully understand liability and damages by reading a sentence (or more) about the facts of an incident.
Since I haven't had a chance to speak with you and review your claim, I also don't know if you have a workers' compensation claim (or other claim).

The condition of the bathroom floor where I live is un level . I slipped and fell while taking a shower and hit the toilet with my back. My injury cracked the toilet bowl. I cannot afford to buy another toilet. do not feel responsible for buying a new toilet. The reason i fell is because the shower floor is bad. I wear flip flops while showering because i don’t want my feet on the shower floor. It’s very old. Sometimes the flip flops tend to suck to the floor.

Generally speaking, in a Florida personal injury claim, you can recover the percentage of damages that a careless party caused you. So if another party was 100% at fault and caused your injury, you can recover 100% of the damages. Again, this is the general rule. There are exceptions.

If the injury or accident happened in Texas, and the injured person lives in Texas, I can't represent him/her. This is because I'm licensed in Florida, not Texas.
If a Texan is injured in Florida or on a cruise I may be able to represent him or her.
If a Floridian is injured in Texas, I may be able to handle the Floridian's uninsured motorist insurance claim.
If a Floridian is injured in Texas, I'm not able to represent the Floridian in his/her injury claim against a third party unless the court specifically admits me for the particular case, and a Texas lawyer also represents the client.

A good case is a case an attorney is willing to take for a percentage. Attorney's interest is %, not you or your injury!
An Attorney’s interest can be the client, their injury and getting paid.
@@RealJustinZiegler My attorney got max policy limit showing I needed surgery, and then forwarded me a settlement statement with only a couple of liens to insure the referring chiropractor doesn't get prorated. There no mention of surgery on this statement, nor is my share enough to get a surgery!
