Reports claim discussions are underway to import 8 or 9 million tonnes of discounted food grains.

I find it most horrific that India has dropped even further down the starving index compared to last years number. From 101 in 2021 to 107 in 2022.
Which puts India starvation problems in the extremely alarming crisis category. The worst category you can be in compared to countries like North Korea, Pakistan, Sudan, Congo, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Nigeria and even Niger on average can afford 2 to 3 meals a day whilst India can only afford 0 to 1 meal each day.
