I really enjoy the Chinese teardown and replace videos. Nobody talking to me. Nobody pointing out things that are obvious. Just a photo of a part with red circles indicating the bolts to remove. And a sped up video of a guy removing them. Captions on the video indicating what size tools to use. We need more videos like that. Thank you for uploading this one though.
I can hear water sloshing around in my Mk6 Golf on the, and yesterday I noticed that the liner is not fitted correctly. I suspect that is the access point for the water :(
@@initialspeedI just realised that I didn't give much info in my last comment. I suspect that the water is in the sill. The water sound is low down, and can be heard moving under acceleration or braking, so it's a front-to-back motion. However, I have poped the drainage caps down there and not seen much of an improvement. Car is going in for a service in the next couple of weeks, and I've asked the mechanic to have a look around...
Had a look today and drained a load of water. Previously I tried to drain the plugs shown in this vid: th-cam.com/video/Fp8bL1goI5A/w-d-xo.html . Today I found a second set of plugs which are oriented vertically. In the video linked, they would be located on the vertical surface between the plug the guy is working on, and the painted metal. I had previosly drained the plugs in the linked vid, and the sill still had water in it. I think these other plugs might have been for a separate channel in the sill. I have also duck taped any obvious ingess points. Pro tip: Don't stab the plugs like the guy in the vid. You can ease then off with a flat screwdriver and/or pliers
The only part that I don't understand is this. When you were trying to tweak it to make sure the gaps were good, what did you do just loosen and tighten the bolts trial and error? How did you get the front of the fender down on the headlight? You talked about bending it? One other question. Did you put that bracket on where the front bumper meets the fender first and then attach the fender or did you attach that bracket to the fender first? Thanks for any advice. Appreciate it
Hello. So I did put the bracket on first then trial and error. (For the gaps) As for the headlight and fender, I did bend it by hand. No it is not perfect like the other side. Let me know how it goes.
Nicwe video...well done and good detail in replacing the fender. thank you. Now my turn. have the fender off (same one) and waiting on new fender to show up.
Thanks for watching.👍🏼 Look around, you may find more you like. Yes I got the fender the same colour. I had to look and look to find one the same colour. Let us know how it goes.
Thanks for making the video. Where did you source the fender? Volkswagen directly? eBay or other on line parts store? A junkyard? Would like to understand that as I have a fender with rust that I would like to replace and need some help with where to source it.

Great video. Can I dm you about where to find a fender for my mk6?
All I did was look for cars that were being parted out. I came across a body shop that had a fender.
(Facebook marketplace)

Anyone got a list of all the tools needed?

Need more commentary on what you are installing removing and better close ups. Other wise ok.
Thank you for your input. I will work on that.
Cheers.
