This video leaves me searching for new accolades! Once again, you’ve created an outstanding wine video with the inclusion of food and travel. I am certainly thirsty - and hungry - for more, after watching this! Your reflections on Australia’s Hunter Valley, Yarra Valley, and Mornington Peninsula are not only insightful but also entertaining - enjoyed all the back stories and side stories, as well as your many food and travel notes. Greatly enjoyed them all- from your dining recommendations to your helicopter ride and sightseeing suggestions. I’m definitely going to refer to your Australian wine-travel series when I start planning a wine trip to Oz. Your ability to weave wine, gastronomy, and travel together is so exciting and inspiring. Can’t wait to add those wines to my list of Australian must-haves, as I have zero Australian bottles in my wine chillers. I do buy and enjoy them occasionally but I don’t really keep extras in my wine fridges. Well, your Australian wine series will certainly change that! Thank you for this truly excellent video, John! Cheers!
Thanks very much, Margaux! Very glad you enjoyed it. This video was a bit different, but I thought this was the best way to present the material. Highly recommend a visit! It was a thoroughly enjoyable trip from start to finish! Cheers!
@@AttorneySommYou’re welcome, John! I really enjoyed this video! Truly excellent content, including terrific photos and footages. I think it’s one of your best and most enjoyable videos!
There are so many great wineries in AU, it’s hard to go wrong. Last year we had the opportunity (and privilege) of doing a tasting at Yarra Yering, absolutely outstanding! Would highly recommend to anyone visiting the Yarra valley. Also proves the versatility of the region, as they produce some outstanding Bordeaux blends as well. Thanks for this!
Thank you! Completely agree with you! Definitely want to visit Yarra Yering next time. I have enjoyed their wines very much here when I tasted them at TexSom.
Great video. Thanks for highlighting the diversity and quality of Australian wine. Re your next trip to Victoria, Macedon and Beechworth are worth checking out.
@@LewGoldman Thanks very much! Yes I have a video on that too actually! Not all are appropriate for everyone, but this includes a good mix that involve more than just a tasting room and there should be 2-3 to get you started. Well done on taking two weeks off to visit 'stralia. I spent 6 years as a partner in a US law firm and I was encouraged to take at least 20 minutes off as annual leave each year...
@@50somethinglawyer Thank you! I’m doing more data privacy work now so it’s easier to do what I need to do remotely. A lot changed after 2020, at least at my firm.
@AttorneySomm Yep, it's been an interesting few years in terms of how legal practice has changed. I've done in total 30 mins in our London office since Feb 2020 and no one cares one way or the other!

Love your show, thank you for all your hard work. I will be in Napa in a few weeks, do you have any favorites winery experiences there to visit?

I can tell you came back from Australia pronouncing their second most populous city, "Melbin" instead of of "Mell-Born."
@@dougronald561 Yes! Learned how to pronounce Yarra too.
I wonder what all these wineries and regions will start imitating next when Burgundy will fall out of fashion😅
@@Ruirspirul This style of Semillon is very unique. I’m not aware of anywhere else that does it like this.
