Thank the lord someone is calling this mo fo out. He is constantly spreading such dangerous advice. I constantly question whether he is an actual doctor😫😥
He is a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine and he works in a hospital. I don't doubt his credentials or intelligence but obviously his background doesn't make him an expert on nutrition.

What's SUPER great about this guy is that Doctors aren't Nutritionists! They have like one course their entire medical career about nutrition? There's no way he's an accurate source of information, since he's not a nutritionist. Even if I didn't know that, he does seem to be contradicting himself ALOT, like you said, Mike.

His video literally feels like it's a parody lol. He's either taking money from the pork board and therefore likely intellectually dishonest, or he's one of the greatest satirical comedians on youtube. I hope it's the second one lol.

I really enjoy doctor Mike's videos. He turned down a multi million dollar TV show deal because he didn't like the products in the commercials during breaks. I think he means the best.
Hi Mike. I recently learned about a disturbing practice that's becoming increasingly common in the harvesting of crops. Apparently it originated in Scotland, where weather is damp, and crops can be lost to moisture, but it hasn't stayed there. Herbicide is sprayed approx. 2 weeks or so before the harvest of a variety of crops, with resulting residues on foods. The practice is called "crop desiccation", and is done to dry/harden off certain crops by killing them. 😨 The pesticides are the likes of glyphosate (Round Up), diquat, paraquat, etc. Some of the crops are grains, hops, oats, flax, barley, lentils and pulses, sweet and white potatoes. All cornerstones of the vegan diet. Well accept for hops, maybe! Just curious if you've heard about this practice, and if you've done or plan to do a video on it. I thought it was shocking how much herbicide is used in the Dakotas and Canada, simply from the angle of horrible things humans do to our planet. So crazy, so shortsited.
@Laurie I'm going out on a limb and will say I doubt it. Criticism the plant industry is a no go zone for vegans. Its bad for business to say that the plant products bought in grocery stores can cause harm. I agree though its horrible that why I grow my own food! But you are 100% right and it should be addressed.
@generic 1) That’s the problem Vegans answer for everything is based upon a consumerism model. 2) Protecting crops harvest by child labor by intentionally poisoning that results in the killing hundreds of millions of sentient animals that want to live, I thought went against vegan values. I’m glad you brought up organic, because organic fertilizers are created using manure, or blood and bone meal from animal agriculture. Organic pesticides can use any “natural” ingredient this includes things like copper sulphate (group 2a carcinogen), plus organic farming requires 84% more land then normal chemical farming “all big agriculture is bad”. 3) Show me the evidence that shows that the main contributor to environmental toxins my body is through animal products. Remember I don’t use animal agriculture for my animal products so pointing out animal agriculture is not applicable to me.
Millennial Prepster. Basically all your comments have the object of telling vegans that even though they are vegan they are not doing as well as you are, who are growing your own food and slaughtering your own rabbits. But you have to realize two things: 1. The alternatives for most vegans are to eat as vegan as possible or go back to omnivore factory farm meat eating. I'm sure you agree that mainstream veganism is better than mainstream factory meat farming. 2. For the vegans who have the possibility to grow their own food or eat only organic, they will choose to do this without killing any animals at all, or at least a lot less than the amount that you are killing, and it will happen by accident, not by intent. Veganic farming is coming big. As far as toxins, there will always be more toxins in meat due to the very nature of meat, and also due to bioaccumulation of environmental toxins which happens even in the most pristine environments.

Mic, my hat is off to you for watching that nauseating puppet of the meat industry's video (presumably) to the end. _I wonder if some bots in his motherland helped with his bizarre 2M subscribers_
Bots? yes they are called the youtube algorithm which promotes viral content and high view times above all else not to mention youtubes long standing tradition of being the platform of egomaniacs. People will watch countless hours of someone guy with an accent play video games badly with the camera pointed at their TV. That only comes from celebrity worship.
Well, should the bots be involved (LOL- #motherlandsuspicion), then I would see the algorithm functioning more as a catalyst. Nonetheless, when fact based science like that from Dr Greger attracts only 1/5th the subscribers of that self-important egomaniac, then perhaps you're right about the platform.
Been waiting for somebody to call this guy out. Perfect blend of humor, honesty, and truth. Awesome video! Do you have any physical copies of your cookbook, or is it only an ebook?
This doctor must need the sponsor money badly. Must be very hard times for him. Otherwise why would a so called doctor throw responsibility to a side and give such crappy advice that can be so devastating to people’s health. ‘Money is tight doctor’
Nope not really. I've wanted and needed to make a little money off youtube for a long time. 9 out of 10 times successful channels without ads and with plenty of patreon supporters to support their livelihood can't get enough and want more from sponsorships.

While I do agree that it's difficult to remain impartial on a scientific topic while also being sponsored by one side, I do have to point out that Doctor Mike utilized every opportunity to point out the scientifically verifiable facts around health risks associated with processed meats. And as we both know, building your compass & argument around scientific proof is the best way to remain educated as opposed to holding a side without any quantifiable proof. Among the many points he made against red meats, and the multi-minute monologue at the end outlining it all, he even blatantly pointed out that he agrees with the World Cancer Research Fund's recommendation of
Maybe. I would guess he would take the critics head on. I think it was actually his sponsor that made him pull it. The video originally did not disclose the sponsorship and the sponsor likely got wet feet once the critics rolled in.
I really liked his videos where he watched different medical tv shows. That’s why I subbed to him. When I saw his meat vid in my feed, I decided not to watch it and wait until you did the inevitable rebuttal. I’m going to unsubscribe from him.
I know I’m a year late on this, but I was one of “Doctor” Mike’s earlier viewers and his descent into being a sellout is truly one of the more breathtaking case studies in social media. I can’t remember the exact ad I unfollowed him over, but he basically was being sponsored by any company - totally unrelated to any health or medical advice.
Update: A while back Doctor Mike removed his video! Not sure if this video played a role but I'm guessing the whole thing was just against his morals anyway. Since then he has made a video lowering his high cholesterol with a mostly plant-based diet. Glad to see things change!

Who said Mic the V-word with his “this video is sponsored by the national sandle board of america” jokes is funny.
I cannot believe this guy has 2M Subscribers. I tried watching his video but I had to stop after a few minutes because it was so bad. He shows complete contempt for his audience's intelligence.
The subs are possibly bought and paid for by the industries he SHILLS he works for. One of the best tactics these industries use is to find a useful idiot, or someone corruptible preferably a Doctor (doesn't have to be medicine) and use them to sow seeds of doubt.Big Tobacco do it, Big Oil do it, its quite common. Never assume things are as they seem! And.. the general population are not intelligent at all.. The fact that you are here and can spot this shill, already puts you into a small percentage of the population who have free and independent thought and have their critical thinking skills intact. You are in the minority son.. congratulations.

Convention attractiveness is a most definitely a draw in our world, and most probably for all of human history. I don’t necessarily think there’s anything wrong with it, as sex and sexuality has been condemned enough. The best path forward would be to create a world that can admire beauty- in whatever form that takes- and be able to move beyond that into gathering a deeper perspective of another’s message and words.
...if you have to advice
Yeah...
They know people won't follow the advice. So, it falls on deaf ears.
Dr. MIke is doing so much harm to people in order to get enough money to live on the top of New York. My Dr. is from India. She's vegetarian & very supportive of my vegan lifestyle.
She gets kickbacks from the vegan industry of course she is favor of it.
@@shawndarling5855 are you okay? The Dr wasn't even named lmao
@@tylerp657 Yeah I am fine just figured since all these other doctors get kickbacks from the evil meat and dairy industry. She gets kickbacks from the vegan industry.
@@shawndarling5855 the doctor this video is about, literally was sponsored by a red meat and processed meat manufacturer. Not sure why you are so salty.
Janis Mayer she's Indian and vegetarian?? NO SHIT
I have watched the Dr. Mike videos where he reviews medically based TV shows from the perspective of an actual doctor. Those are fun. But after seeing your video, I went over to Dr. Mike's channel to comment on his ignorance regarding meat, and that video has apparently been removed. He must have been getting an earful.
That guy with the NAILED IT😂😂
Thanks.
Or cardboard for fiber 😋
He must have taken the video down because I got the "This video is not available" message when using your link to the original video.
Dr. Mikes video seems to have been taken down! Maybe the Vegan Army got to him? 😄Nice work Mic the Vegan! 😎✌️❤️🌱
#condescendingscious
When he (Dr.) said who sponsored I stopped the video. I follow his channel but I was disapointed ...
Sandra GBG unsubscribe he is a shill
Thank the lord someone is calling this mo fo out. He is constantly spreading such dangerous advice. I constantly question whether he is an actual doctor😫😥
He is a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine and he works in a hospital. I don't doubt his credentials or intelligence but obviously his background doesn't make him an expert on nutrition.
Mikey should stick to reviewing House episodes.
Those were how I got into his channel.
I was so dissapointed in Dr.Mike when I saw his video. I'm glad you made a responce.
Original video has been removed!
Dutch Man hehe, yeah. I wanted to go watch it, but it's gone! Too much backlash? I wonder if he had to refund the "sponsorship" 😂
The comment section was filled by trolls.
All with compliments about 'How informative!' and 'Taking away misconceptions.'
Getting hundreds of likes within seconds. A complete 'sponsor machine'.
Like most of his videos...
I think he went too far with this advertisement and someone woke up.
I am so beyond blessed when I told multiple doctors of mine (dentist, GYN, etc) when I went vegetarian and lost weight or had health changes in a positive way, they all praised it and 1 said he was happier I went on a healthier path. I am so sorry for all those who deal with doctors like this.
Thank you for your hard work.
shared. a lot. I am so tired of hearing the whole "meat is good for you". Thanks for putting out this video that I can use as a stock answer to those ridiculous claims.💚✌🏻🌱
Poultry, fish and honey it is.
Fish and poultry is meat...bad that someone had to tell you that.
@ Jackomack
Check out nutritionfacts.org to learn why poultry and fish are not good for you.
@@someguy2135 sarcasm flew too high. I'm surprised y'all weren't upset for the poor bees!
@ Jackomack
In that case, you left out the dairy and eggs. Also bad for you. Honey is probably as bad for you as sugar. I haven't checked. As for not recognizing the sarcasm, I was half asleep at the time. If you don't have empathy for other creatures, consider your own health and longevity.
"Dr. Sausage reporting for duty"🤣🤣🤣
That sausage indulgence is gonna shrink the abilities of his "sausage", so it won't report for duty by the age of 50 (or earlier), at all! Permanent 6 o'clock time.
Love how casually they're just hanging out in the room full of smoke inhaling it all without any face masks, even taking the time to do an interview in there. That's really reassuring.
Mic has voiced exactly what was going through my head while I watched that video😂 as soon as I heard #Spon I got skeptical
I just tried to watch the original video by Dr Mike and it's mysteriously unavailable. Wonder if the backlash made him take it down?
I noticed the same. I had already disliked the video. I went back to find it and read the comments, and it's gone!
Man, you are on a roll in this video! I am loving it bro!!! You have very quickly moved up to the top of my TH-cam viewing list. Thanks for fighting the good fight Mic.
DOCTOR MIKE DELETED THIS VIDEO FROM HIS CHANNEL.
I'm so glad you covered this right after he posted it. He's just a pretty face after all... My question is, where did his medical education go? You know, compassion, caring for other beings (humans, only, I guess). And beyond that the sheer disregard for MEDICAL research regarding (processed) red meat. Shocking.
He's a physician for a hospital.
His video literally feels like it's a parody lol.
He's either taking money from the pork board and therefore likely intellectually dishonest, or he's one of the greatest satirical comedians on youtube.
I hope it's the second one lol.
Mic, you look somewhat yellow-ish in this video.
Might want to check your color settings, so not to give everyone a cheap point against you. ("Jaundice, such an unhealthy vegan!")
James Esteron Those pesky carotenoids strike again! 😄
James Esteron It can also be what he’s wearing. Depending on skin color and undertone, different colors can make you look ill while others make you look really healthy. It’s all about how the eye picks up light.
@@indigodragon0613
No, it's obvious in comparison to other skin tones in the video that Mic's color correction is off.
James Esteron I wasn’t stating a certainty. Just a possibility. You’re response felt a little severe as I understand that it likely is the color correction. Apologies for the misunderstanding.

Oh please don't apologize, my response did read harsh in retrospect. Thanks for your input. :)
I have been struggling for a long time between eating meat and going vegan. Watching your videos brings some sanity back for me esp with the keto movement being so popular. I have people arguing with me that me eating a white potato is a lot worse than bacon wrapped cheese fat bombs fried in butter and I think: "Am I in the twilight zone???" Lol..it's a dangerous way of thinking.

I feel the same way about saying plant based. Its not the same as vegan. Vegan is a way of life. Plant based is a diet.

I believe he's taken his video down now... 😂
Hahahahahahaha really? I hope it was because people didn't take his bullshit
PK: it was because his sponsor an he disagreed about the video and he doesn’t wanted to change his opinion and medical advice for some money. He tells in an A&Q video
@Laurie
I'm going out on a limb and will say I doubt it. Criticism the plant industry is a no go zone for vegans. Its bad for business to say that the plant products bought in grocery stores can cause harm. I agree though its horrible that why I grow my own food!
But you are 100% right and it should be addressed.
@@themyrtlewoodshomestead9371 ignores the fact that a lot of vegans tell you to eat organic where possible becuase of pesticides....🙄🤔
@@themyrtlewoodshomestead9371 ....and our main contributor to environmental toxins to our bodies is animal products....🙄🤔🙂
@generic
1) That’s the problem Vegans answer for everything is based upon a consumerism model.
But you have to realize two things:

Alistair Ceansa 100% they aren’t real subs imo..it’s a somewhat common thing, so it wouldn’t surprise me.
Bots? yes they are called the youtube algorithm which promotes viral content and high view times above all else not to mention youtubes long standing tradition of being the platform of egomaniacs.
People are getting "Out of mind". Saying "crazy" is a pure act of kindness.
Well done Mic , this was a knockout :)

Nope not really. I've wanted and needed to make a little money off youtube for a long time. 9 out of 10 times successful channels without ads and with plenty of patreon supporters to support their livelihood can't get enough and want more from sponsorships.
Sorry if my last post sounded critical. Love your videos. I've got a BSc (Hons) in Human Nutrition and embarrassed to say I hadn't researched the vegan diet much. You've taught me loads. Thank you.

Obviously there was an issue with his video since now the video is unavailable. Guess it messed with his credibility.
Maybe. I would guess he would take the critics head on. I think it was actually his sponsor that made him pull it. The video originally did not disclose the sponsorship and the sponsor likely got wet feet once the critics rolled in.
This video made me laugh so much I bought your ebook! Looks totally fricken awesome!!! Thanks!
