rpd has a bunch of outside areas that require extra flooring to sell the illusion of there being more out there, compared to most maps the out of bounds is incredibly spacious

Sometimes the game bugs, I was able to go outside Haddonfield when one of the gates disappeared for some reason.

It was a bug with the perk any means necessary, survivors could get on top of a pallet to get out of bounds

No, cuz, then the box will teleport back into the map, and pinhead will just teleport when someone else solves the box. And if they don't, then they will be harassed by chainhunt

I know that now you lose the box after a period of time. But doesnt it stil prevent your teamates from being harassed?
