    Hold It Together | Lyrics
    She said are you OK
    And I'm staring into space
It's making her nervous / ‘cause one thing is certain
I don’t have my head on straight
We're trying to get through each week
On two or three hours of sleep
I say to be patient / that we’re gonna make it
I have to admit that I’m struggling
They say take it slow but the
World keeps spinning / and that I don't control
    And so there I go
Trying to act normal / so they won't know that
I’m just trying to hold my shit together / together darling
I’m just trying to hold my shit together / together darling
    They say that they sympathize
I'm grateful they take the time
But bringing it up at this 6 year old’s birthday
It kinda fucks up my vibe
We end on an awkward note
I make the most awkward joke
Too dark to be funny / I shouldn't have come it’d be
Weird go to home and I'm struggling
They say take it slow but the
World keeps spinning / and that I don't control
    And so there I go
Trying to act normal / so they won't know that
I’m just trying to hold my shit together / together darling
I’m just trying to hold my shit together / together darling
Oh I don’t know what else to try
Pretend I'm in control but I’m
Just trying to hold my shit together / together darling

My son took his own life, aged 24, 6 months after Chester passed and this album helped me to say what I couldn't. Thank you Mike for sharing this video and for the entire album. For a year I would scream the lyrics to every song as I cried, and being able to let out exactly how I was feeling is the only thing that kept me from going completely insane. Love you man.❤🧡💙✌🤘

Maybe my comment will get lost in the sea of responses from other people, but I would like to leave here my eternal gratitude for having found this album at the time I needed most. Post Traumatic was for me much more than just good music to listen to while doing my homework. This album touched my soul. I went through a very difficult time this year and whenever things were complicated, I had Post Traumatic and One More Light to keep me company, make me feel heard and seen, understand my feelings and say exactly what I needed to hear, and help me improve my emotional state. Few things were helping me, but these two albums were made to help and understand people, to touch souls in inexplicable ways. I just have to thank you for everything! Your light shines very brightly, Mike! With love, Saidja.

The weirdest illusion of us humans is that we think whe can control things when in reality whe do not control anything.
Life is not easy and you allready wrote a song about it. 50% pain remember? Do not put so much pressure on yourself. Just try to hold on to some fun stuf. Go on tour around the world with your wife and kids and look at all those people who have less. Just follow your heart, no matter what I or anybody has for comments. Punishing your self is not the answer. Your fans will understand and the real ones always stay. You allready are unforgetable.

Wow, that really captured the Post Traumatic era well. This might seem simple, but it’s really effective. This video calls on the types of photos and places Mike was uploading to Instagram at that time.
Parts of the spaces they shot this in are true to the intimacy of the record + the intimacy of one of the two venues I saw him in (The Filmore in Maryland).
And the choppy effects, colors, and light leaks they used here were really evocative of the album art + a lot of the merch + his animated art he was either uploading or doing for music videos like, “Watching As I Fall.”
This video may seem simple on the surface, but it really does take you back to the atmosphere, headspace, and emotions of what that year or so of life felt like (if you participated in all of what Mike was doing at that time).
By contrast, it’s amazing going back to those internal landscapes of 2018 - 2019 (whatever you’d like to call that) in lieu of The Corona Jam sessions on Twitch, Shinoda Produce Me, the new music Mike produced for others off camera, his new music, and Meteora|20.
I’ve also got to say I think I’ve come back to this song, and needed it the most often 2018 forward. Definitely one of my favorite cuts 👏🏼❤️ Thank you, for everything Mike ❤️‍🩹🙌🏼 You’ve got no idea what this record got me through ❤️‍🩹🙌🏼🤝

      @duesure ปีที่แล้ว +12

I'm not saying compliments, I think I'm saying the truth. So, it's about the music you're making. I think the essence of music is MELODY, and you expressed it the most clear and core way, and probably it's the best music ever been made of all time. Because no one reached that point of power, or intensity of music, no one dived that deep, like you did. The brightest examples for me are "From The Inside (meteora) or song "One More Light", or "Easier To Run" (meteora) but I must admit I have some rivalry against your music, but for me it is still a question

My elder brother is an asshole and a fucking bully. He gets 3 lak salary per month and treated me like shit because i went jobless. I used to sleep on roads on some days and try to earn with a truck like a common driver and helper. I struggled a lot. And due to God's grace i got a job again and earning slightly more than before. I lost my Dad a week ago today. He had been fighting cancer for just over a year and had been losing that fight since Christmas. I'm trying to hold my shit together in front of my mum & brother but inside I'm a total mess. I drove home last night with this album blasting out but had to pull over because I couldn't see the road through my tears. I don't know how long I was there but the sky was considerably darker and Mike had stopped singing. I sat in the dark trying to pull myself together before driving the last few miles home when movement in the hedgerow caught my eye and out popped 30 plus Fallow Deer 🦌 including two white bucks. I don't why but watching them calmly crossing the road in front of me, gave me a sense of peace I hadn't felt all week. Life does go on and I've promised myself that I will go walking in the beautiful countryside surrounds around my home. Rest in peace Dad you deserve it. Love Kez.

Yo Mike, not sure if you gonna read this but i will write it anyway.
I never understood other peoples idols, to admired an artist / musician, those feelings were so far from me, i always listen to Linkin Park, it was and is one of my favorite bands but i was never crazy about any band or artist.
One day I saw you saying in an interview about a feeling you had about not belonging to anywhere, that maybe it was what connected you and Chester. This immediately clicked for me, this was how i felt my entire life as descendant of Jp born in Brazil, is funny how some times we don't realize that behind an musician there is a person. I was already following your work when you went solo, but today i understand more the feeling of not only just appreciate someone's music but also to admire the person behind it.
