    Hey, George! I have two Tisas 1911 A1's. Bought one in Harrodsburg. Both are chambered in 9mm. One the full 1911 frame, the recoil is negligible at best. Was banging steel at 25 and fifty yards outta the box. Love it in a 9mm. Great Colt clone for the money in my book. Now, get back in the tower😂

      Where did you get one in H-berg?

    My tisas commander took about 350 rounds to break in before it started feeding from a full mag without jamming on the ramp. Now that it has loosened up, it works great.

      My ww2 1911 shot and worked great right out of the box.

      @Desert Guns_702 I don't think all 1911s need a break-in. It depends on the fit and finish. Tisas manufacture their 1911s with tight tolerances and cerakote them inside and out, making them even tighter. So where metal rubs against metal needs a bit of wearing in. High-end 1911s have smiths that polish and fit those parts by hand before they sell.

      @Desert Guns_702 Agreed. If you're going to buy a mainstream production 1911, you'll need to consider the 200-300 bucks in ammo and possibly some extra mags needed to fully break in a 1911 if using it for a defensive firearm. On top of the price of the gun. Part of the 1911 charm.

    I bought a Tisas SS45 "Carry" a couple of months ago on sale NIB for $399.99. Usually go for $659.99. I own 4 other 1911's and was very favorably impressed with the fit and finish when I first received it. The tolerances were very tight, and it locked up like a vault. I've now put almost 1000 rounds through it of various types and have FTF/FTE or any failures at all. You can easily shoot silver dollar sized groups at 15 yards with repetitive fire. I think it's a pretty great gun, and a good shooter. I'll carry it. I've recommended it to 4 of my friends who all bought one and are well pleased as well. Get one.

      @@esquad5406 I think they are a great value and a fine shooter. I can get palm sized groups at 25 yards with mine, and my 60 year old eyes aren't what they used to be. I'm planning on picking up another, probably the "Tank Commander" as it's a basic 1911 with better sights and knurled hammer. It'll be a truck gun for me.

    Tisas makes some great 1911s. I own one as well. I believe it's a cb45 carry . I could be wrong on the model number, but it's a commander size and has the up swept beaver tail grip safety. So far mine has run without issue. Hopefully you end up having better luck with yours . Like you said, you can always change parts if you need to. It's a 1911.

    The GI style 1911's work well with hollow points after the break in period. A couple of boxes of 230 grain ball will smooth everything out and she will run flawlessly.

    All steel Colt Combat Commander was one of my first off duty guns in 1972 cal. .45ACP. This gun you reviewed looks pretty good. Enjoyed your video as I'm a fan of the 1911 platform.

    Excellent video as usual! My all-time favorite/most trusted daily concealed carry pistol comes in the form of a strictly "GI" 1911A1 in .45ACP so I was a bit surprised that fifteen yards was the maximum effective range for it.....Especially since, at least when I was an actual Tanker in the Army, the 1911A1 in .45ACP was our issued personal weapon and we were required to qualify with them, back in the 1980s that is, at a maximum of fifty yards on a man size target with 230grn ball ammo. Fast forward a few years and the small-town PD I eventually retired from adopted the .45ACP as our duty round. To meet state requirements, we had to qualify at fifty yards on a man size target. The ammo we were issued was Federal 230grn +P H-S JHP with practice ammo coming in the form of 230grn FMJ/ball rounds.

    Good video. I've got a Tank Commander in 9mm. Good shooting gun. The Tank Commander has better sights than the Tanker, but that's about it. Keep up the good work George.

    If you can’t hit center mass on a man sized target at 25 yards all day long something is very wrong.

    Those are not Blazer 85gr hollow point rounds, they are PMC Bronze 185gr hollow point rounds. Either you are too old, or need new glasses.

    Amazing that anyone can be a gun tuber even when they have no idea what they’re doing.
    Any 1911 loves its oil and likes to run wet. Anyone who takes one out of the box and doesn’t bother to prep it properly before firing it for a review should not be trusted to listen to.

    • @esquad5406
      @esquad5406  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The whole point of an "out of the box" video is to show how it works right "out of the box". And I don't use oil on a 1911. I use grease. Like on a M-1 rifle or carbine.

    • @DavidSchoen-uf8nu
      @DavidSchoen-uf8nu 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@esquad5406 Agree with the premise however, every gun that comes “out of a box” needs to be broken down and inspected at a minimum before shooting it. Anyone who knows anything about a 1911 knows that they run wet. I use my preferred gun lube but if someone wants to use Crisco, so be it.
      Point is, to take a weapon out of a box, throw ammo in it and pull the trigger without inspecting and prepping it first is a fool.
