You have certainly mastered the art of paint stripping 😆. The window box is such a lovely idea to add that extra privacy. The pink tones of the flowers sit nice against the window colour. Spending time to remove all the paint from the old latch was definitely worth it, it is beautiful. You cannot buy quality like that today. The stone work on the house and garden retaining is just stunning. It would cost a fortune to get this type of work done today. I am loving the videos Claire and look forward to them
Thank you for your lovely comment! And yes, I'm definitely an expert where paint stripping is concerned. Sadly, I have many more opportunities to hone my skills in that department.
Ah, merci beaucoup. Je pense aussi que la fenêtre est beaucoup plus accueillante. J'espérais que la couleur adoucirait l'apparence des murs de pierre dans le froid de l'hiver.
Such attention to detail! I love how you salvaged the original woodwork and window. We replaced the glass in our old windows and let me say, they are not nearly as perfect as yours…if my husband had thought to use the green tape around the windows, what a difference. Please do a house tour and garden tour sometime.
Thank you! The green tape is good for keeping the bulk of the goo off the glass but the scraping tool is the best for getting a good line. I do plan on doing a house and garden tour, but I feel a lot of our house and garden are still in the depths of destruction so I plan to do it a bit further down the track. Thank you for asking - I've made a mental note ;-)
You killed it (nailed it). There is nothing more beautiful than to restore old wooden windows. For some reason, people think that the new metal, plastic, and fiberglass double panes are better. The old wooden windows will literally outlive all the new stuff out there. Your newly restored windows look amazing. Imagine how many eyes have looked out of those windows ❤❤.
I love, love, love the old windows too! I've been told about the history of our house and find it fascinating to think of life in our house 125 years ago. Thank you for sharing your appreciation of the littlest window in our house ;-)
The pink is so nice! 'Calamine Lotion' I was really young when we use it here in Buenos Aires- Argentina You've done a great job, it looks adorable!!!💕
I don't think I've seen that film, I will have to take a look at it. I grew up in Australia, where we used calamine lotion a lot! And, thank you for your pink window appreciation.
I just discovered your Channel today (early Sunday morning) and I felt so inspired by what you do, this little window looks beautiful, love, love, love. A mega Like for you and a new subscriber here xx😁
Thank you for subscribing! We live in Scotland and technically our hardiness zone is 10a, although I would consider it more a 9b. Our winters are long, so plants take a long time to wake up and start growing.
This is like a lullaby for decorators!!💗💗💗
Ha, this made me laugh - it's an excellent way to describe my videos! 😂Thank you!

Great job!! I commend you on your patience.
Thank you! Yes, it does require a lot of patience sometimes 😉
Oh I love window boxes, and your is charming. The window hardware is so unique. Have a wonderful week
Thank you so much! Hope you have a wonderful week too!
This little window deserves such fine treatment 😉.
Especially as it's the perfect height to look out of when in the bath.
Another pretty project. ❤ I could watch you all day long. :)
Thank you! 😊 That's such a lovely encouraging compliment.
So pretty ❤
Thank you!
You are a wonderful inspiration. I so enjoy your posts.
Ooh, I'm so glad you like them! As I'm quite new to TH-cam, it's lovely to hear.

You have many skills! Your back garden is stunning.
Thank you so much! Our garden has changed so much over two weeks. It's amazing what a little warmth and sun can do.

Egitiminizi merak ettim dogrusu, marangoz , fayans ustası, tasarımcı bahçıvan ...tebrik ediyorum sizi👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🌹🌱🌿
Her zaman bir şeyleri kendim yapmayı denemeyi sevdim. Esnaf bulmaya çalışmaktan daha kolay görünüyor.
I love the word 'alcove/s' it always makes me think of the movie Bruges! BTW I'm native Spanish speaker

In Bruges with Colin Farrell and Ralph Fiennes is who talks and make fun of the alcoves in Bruges! Hugs Claudia
@@homeis8478 I found a clip - it was so funny. Such a random word made a big feature.😂
Вы очень красиво обновили окно фурнитуру старинную!👏👍👌
Большое спасибо. Приятно, что все снова заработало.
New subscriber 🎉 You've just inspired me to add pink to my garden..I do believe that's what was missing!
