    When you found corrosion on your clip cord, that could come from the different metals, but most likely from the flux when it is soldered. If you take baking soda and water to it after soldering it will neutralize any acid from the flux then make sure it's dry before you heat shrink it. Am sure you know these things since you do your own repairs. It was not til I fixed my second set that I started cleaning them and found it last a while longer.

      Correct. I was also using solder that was passed down to me when my Grandpa passed away. It was really old. I sure they have better stuff now. I like to throw a little added corrosion protection on when I'm done. All of the clip cords I've made since then have lasted a really long time. I also went to a thicker wire. Probably takes a little more to eat away at the material.

    thank you so much man, in this lesson i figured out because my springs are rusting, alcohol

    • @TattooUniversity
      @TattooUniversity  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Alcohol and Bleach will do that. I have some interesting photos of what bleach does to your equipment if you let it soak. It gets really nasty.

    You have an old machine you would be willing to get rid of on the low? Just getting into tattooing and I have junk for machines.

    I just bought a hang stop power supply stealth power and output is DC 1.5 through 18 volts in the output AC is 90 volts to 250v is that a good power box supply.?

      If its working for you then its good. You will know if its bad because it will start to fall apart. It will act weird and do things its not supposed. Its good if you can get several years out of it without any trouble.

    I bought dragon hawk shit on amazon. The machine runs for a second and then the armeture bar starts going weird. Hard to explain but it is jittery. Not a solid up and down 50 times per second. I can see the bar moving up and down and then moves less up and down. It is really shitty looking.

      I would have to take a look at it but my first instinct is to put some more upward pressure on the rear spring. These machines come from factories and they don't know how to tune them. You can make them work but you have to know how. There are some cheap machines that I don't bother with. I only use the ones I know have potential.

    sir wr do u buy tattoo springs? and i am planning to buy stealth tattoo machine... howz the machine?

    • @TattooUniversity
      @TattooUniversity  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The name brand stealth is probably really good. The cheaper ones I've had break. You can buy spring stock from a lot of tattoo supply stores if you make your own. If not I would look around and see who has the best deals on them

      Yes. Again this is an older video. I've made improvements since this was made. Everyone should improve and I'm not excluded from that.

    • @TattooUniversity
      @TattooUniversity  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      you are absolutly right. I should wear gloves. The only exception is the new machines that haven't been used and are getting tuned.
