Hey guys, does this theme reminds you of another abc show that was Videotaped @ ABC Television Center in HOLLYWOOD called Benson w/Robert Guillaume? Me personally, I like this theme over Bandstand Boogie since this is so catchy When this theme was out, abc had Split Second, Showoffs, Welcome Back Kotter, The Rookies, S.W.A.T., Starsky & Hutch, Charlie's Angels, Break the Bank w/Tom Kennedy, The Dating Game, The Newlywed Game, Barney Miller, That's My Mama, SOAP, Superfriends, Scooby-Doo, Hong Kong Phooey, Jabberjaw, All My Children, What's Happening!!, Let's Make a Deal, Password/Password All-Stars and of course, Family Feud w/Mr. Clark's Buddy in the late Richard Dawson and The Bugs Bunny Show God Bless You Mr. Clark and Thank You for all you've done in both the Music and Entertainment Industry, May You R.I.P. and until we see ya upstairs, So Long Friend American Bandstand has been Produced by Dick Clark Television Productions
I saw VH1 play Classic AB (before going on reality TV overload) and at the conclusion of the show, they played Barry Manilow's version of "Bandstand Boogie". Thanks, Dick Clark for the memories, but before we give a salute and say, "So long," we say thank you for your contributions to pop culture, music, and entertainment.
Need I Say More? I am quite impressed with the "American Bandstand" theme from the 1974 Era. A Brilliant 10!! Long Live American Bandstand!! I loved the changing color graphics in reference to the "AB" emblem. Well Done!!

Joe Porter was hired to do this version of "Bandstand Boogie" as "'work for hire" for the studio. It was never meant to be release as a record. The music can be found in the video's of the show.

@@retroguy1976 I know out of the episodes that are rumored to be missing or lost forever between the years of 1970-74(i believe now that some of the early eps from the 1974-75 season might be apart of the ones that were destroyed(maybe the 1st 10 or 15 eps)i'm hoping thats what that is

The music entertainment industry will never be the same without Dick Clark. He was a genius ahead of his time. He will certainly be missed.
