I’M FLYING!! - Human Flying Drone, The Final Part! (DIY Green Goblin / Iron Man Hoverboard)

I built and flew on my personal drone hovercraft. This vehicle has been 2 years in the making and is essentially a giant drone multicopter big enough to carry a person. It features 10 motors, 20 LIPO batteries, a flight controller, GPS, and has a lifting capacity of over 200 pounds. It's similar to the Green Goblins hoverboard from Spiderman, the hoverboard from Back To The Future, or some gadget that Iron Man would have.

CatMEMES Yah the main problem is just being able to afford the components
Not only money but time, ideas, creativity, knowledge and more importantly storng mind and brain... As a kid about 8 years i wanted to make a simple fan with regulator for speed, and boy it was hard because i didnt want anyone's help... I got the material and nothing else, i learnd from grandpa how to weld wires and started my project... It took me about 3 days, but now probably about 10 min XD, trust me you have to be strong. You saw him crying...
Yeah we all could do but you need the time to put in as much time and effort into getting that knowledge to do what he has done u know
ZenaMiGladna yah, it took me like 4 months to make my first flamethrower glove, I had to basically learn everything. With everything I know now, I could make that same first model in like 2 hours. Everything you learn engineering builds on itself.

well its cool, the tech is there, its just you dont see it because all real companies would never use moeny because its not commercially viable.
The capabilities have been here for a long time, the difference is that now it's a bit more affordable and, most important, people are overall "richer"

Responding to any of you who are discrediting his achievement, yes there are other hoverboards and some even smaller, however none are for sale and if you look deeper you'd realize that these are projects made by companies with huge budgets, meanwhile this is way more impressive because this is essentially a homemade project of his own design done by one man who is in college and who doesn't have the resources a company would.

I didnt dislike it but i still dont like the board he build. This is not genius. Yeah its cool but its still ussles. Like he floating a meter off the ground thats it. Iam 100% sure every company could do the same in a week. But it would be ussless its to big and to loud . He never showed the actuall audio cuz its probably so loud you cant even hear someone talk and it looks extremly dangerous and uncontrollable and you would never be able to go fast with it. Seems like you could add a safety bar and harness to protect against falling off. Add a rigid pole in the center and tether yourself to a harness at the shoulders.

This is great and I like how you are doing this in steps and discovering problems and solving them as you move forward.
You want input on next steps? I've seen other human piloted drones under development and one thing they all have in common is the pilot is always standing. I would like to see development moving toward making the craft more ergonomic and suitable for any adult who is able enough to fly it. I'm sure this will raise a whole range of issues to be solved, but hey, that's all part of the creative process. For example, I would like to see pilots be able to sit like people do in cars and other aircraft. I'd like to see more protection like harnesses and framing. Of course this is going to involve problems like weight bearing, not just to accommodate human bodies, but also the hardware and that will have impacts on power consumption, weight bearing and mobility. Good work and do continue this quest.
BUILD IDEA: add a heads up display into that bike helmet, ironman style.
It can display stuff like altitude and have a level display. Make it og though, dont kit out some ironman helmet!
